Chapter 4 Escape plan 2

William was someone her father trusted so much, he would certainly let her go alone with William. William will keep her safe.

Then he'll drive Cindy to the airport. She will board the plane and go to Y city.

Termination of arranged marriage.

Haha.

Cindy laughed to herself because the plan was so perfect. She hopes all goes well. She also wasn't worried when Mr. Brian asked William about her sudden disappearance.

William is a wise man, he will find a reasonable explanation without betraying her.

Furthermore, Mr. Brian has great respect for William, because he is the only son of Mrs. Sam - an important partner of Mr. Brian.

Mrs. Sam - who can spend millions of dollars to invest in Farrah corporation.

So Mr. Brian certainly won't make it difficult for William.

'Great. I don't think I'm that smart.' Cindy laid back on the bed, drifting off to sleep.

The next day, Cindy wore shorts with a shirt and brown boots, and carried a small bag over her shoulder, she began her escape journey.

Her mood was both excitement and fear.

Excited is because, this is her first time running away from home, it feels so different.

Fear is because, she is not sure if the plan will work perfectly.

The phone screen suddenly lit up. Message from William. "I've arrived, I'm at your gate."

After reading the message, Cindy opened the curtains looked down, and saw a red Audi parked on the side of the road. She walked towards the bedroom door and opened it.

She looked around. The living room is empty. Mrs. Ann is sitting on a rattan chair in the garden. Niki serves her a tea drink. Her mother has a habit of drinking tea before breakfast.

Cindy wanted to step out into the garden to say goodbye to her mother, but she thought it was unnecessary.

No one ran away but told their loved ones.

'Keep calm.' Taking a deep breath, Cindy walked down the stairs, gently making her way to the large door. From this position, she looks at Mrs. Ann and whispers. 'I'll have to go. I apologize for not being able to take care of you. I know it will hurt your heart to do so, but I have no other choice. I can't sacrifice my own happiness, I can't live with someone I don't love. Please understand me. Please forgive me.'

For a moment, she had the intention to stay, not to run away, but that intention instantly vanished.

'I must not be weak. It's my life, it's up to me to decide.' Cindy reminded herself. "I'm leaving. Goodbye, Mom."

Cindy walked towards the gate. She needs to be decisive.

If she stayed one more minute, she would lose control and change the plan.

There were three bodyguards standing around at the fence gate.

Jimmy - the captain of the bodyguards - bowed respectfully when he saw Cindy walking over. "Miss, where do you want to go?"

"I'll go to the mall," Cindy told Jimmy.

"Yes. Let me prepare the car." Jimmy was just turning to leave when he heard her voice.

"No need. I'll ride with William. He's waiting for me outside."

Jimmy looked out the gate, there was indeed a red Audi parked across the street. As such, Cindy is not lying.

William frequents Cindy's house, so Jimmy knows for sure that the owner of the red Audi is none other than William.

"But the boss told us to follow and protect you, all the time," Jimmy said.

"That was the case when I went alone. I went with William today. He's my best friend. Do you mean that you don't believe he can protect me? Do you despise him? Do you want me to tell my father to fire you?"

Jimmy was scared, shaking his head. "Sorry ma'am, I didn't mean that." He opened the gate, bowing his head. "Have a nice trip."

Cindy just hummed and walked quickly toward William's car. She opened the car door and sat in the front seat.

"Drive faster." Cindy urged.

William started the car and headed for the airport.

Cindy was silent the whole way, she looked out the window, her face expressionless.

"Do you regret it?" William broke the silence. "If you regret it, you can go back now there's still time."

"No. It's the marriage that my father arranged that I regret."

The more Cindy spoke, the more it hurt William. It took effort, but he kept his grip on the wheel, calmed down, and continued driving.

"When are you coming back? Are you not going home?" William asked, eyes still forward.

"Until my father cancels the wedding, otherwise, I won't go home."

William knew Cindy's personality well. She is stubborn and obstinate. If she has made up her mind, no one will make her change.

Her personality of Cindy is very similar to her father's.

"But, you know. Your dad won't give up, he'll do whatever it takes to get you home."

"I'll fight him. Let's see who wins."

William was speechless, concentrating on driving. After a while, he asked again. "What will you do after you come to Y city? You haven't finished your university degree yet."

"I'll do whatever I can. Don't worry. Everything will be fine." Cindy said.

The car stops in front of the airport gate. Before Cindy got out of the car, William instructed. "Let me know when you're making arrangements. If you need assistance, don't hesitate and give me a call. Make sure your phone is open so I can reach you at any time."

"You're like my mother, always treating me like a kid. You should know that I'm twenty years old. I know how to take care of myself." Cindy suddenly hugged William. "Thank you so much. You saved my life. When will we be able to see each other again?" She broke the hug, sobbing.

William laughed and joked. "If you want to thank me, stay and... marry me."

Cindy rolled her eyes. "I'm not kidding. You're just teasing me."

William stared at Cindy as if etching her face into his heart.

Cindy still didn't notice William's loving gaze, she said. "Please take care of my mother for me."

"I will do."

Cindy said goodbye to William, opened the car door, and went inside the airport lobby.

He was still sitting there, watching. This time, he let the tears fall freely. 'What am I doing?'

With his own hands, he pushed the woman he loved away from him.

But, if married to him, will she be happy?

For her happiness, he chooses pain.
