Chapter 4 Too Fast

"Hi, Son." A middle-aged man dressed casually meets and greets an adult man who is struggling with a laptop on his desk.

And the place that the grown man was occupying was also his own workspace, namely the CEO's room. There is no doubt that this man is Leonardo French Alexander, the man who is Cilla's new boss.

That man is the CEO, but tonight he has not come home from work. At the moment, the other employees, especially the secretary, have gone home since half an hour ago. I don't know; maybe there's still something that the CEO should do.

"Daddy," Leon muttered after looking up and removing the glasses that had been perched on his nose.

Apparently the middle-aged man who had called Leon was Leon's father; no wonder if you look at them like clones who are quite similar. Leon's father is like Leon in his old age.

Janssen Alexander-that is the name of Leon's father, who is usually called Jans by his peers and co-workers.

"Why is Daddy here?"

Janssen had just sat down on the sofa in Leon's CEO room when his son immediately asked a question.

"Yes, it's okay; I just want to meet my son; what's wrong?"

"Hm, I guess it's true if you still like overtime," Janssen continued, ending with a few chuckles.

"Hm, if there's nothing important, Daddy better go out. Bother!" Leon dared to say that, and it seemed he was used to it when dealing with his own father.

Even Janssen didn't look angry; the middle-aged man actually laughed crisply at his son's words, which were very blatant and honest. Leon, who heard it, snorted harshly and glanced at his father with a look of disapproval.

"Haha, how honest you are, Son! I won't bother you; take it easy. Actually, I'm just bored at home; your mom went out with her friends without asking me," said Janssen, who ended up confiding in Leon.

"I don't care!" he snapped. It seemed that the man had his own grudge against his father; it was obvious that he didn't like it when his father was there, making him feel disturbed.

"Then your brother is also Leon; he also came out this afternoon and didn't come home; he said he wanted to have a party with his friends. You just get mad at Keylo once in a while, so he doesn't play games all the time. Even though he's about to graduate from school, you can tell he's very relaxed," continued Janssen, as if ignoring Leon's curt words. The middle-aged man instead continued to vent while massaging the bridge of his nose.

Janssen was dizzy with his youngest son's behavior, which was very different from Leon's behavior when he was still in high school. Janssen and his wife have two children, both of whom are boys. So, Leon is the eldest son and has a younger brother named Geandra Keylo Alexander. Originally, Keylo's name was Gean, but his family always called him differently than the others, namely Keylo.

"Tsk! Why should I?" Leon chuckled angrily. How could he not? He was working but instead invited me to chat. His father is Keylo's problem, and Leon doesn't have time for that.

"Because he's afraid of you, Leon! How can Keylo be afraid of Daddy if you just give him pocket money? Even if you threaten him, he won't interfere," replied Janssen, who was tired of dealing with his youngest son's increasingly wild attitude.

Apart from being given pocket money by Janssen, Keylo often asks his older brother, Leon, for it. And Leon always gave it on the condition that Keylo would not bother him again while he was working.

"Huff! Yes, yes, I'll try to take care of that child later," said Leon, who was tired of responding to his father.

"Okay, then Daddy isn't coming home." Leon continued with the intention of expelling his father.

"You kicked me out?" asked Janssen, who was used to the behavior of his eldest son.

Leon shrugged. "Does what I said earlier have the element of expelling Daddy? I'm just asking," he replied casually, returning to fixing his glasses and then trying to focus on the unfinished work.

Leon is the type of person who has to finish work as quickly as possible because later he will be able to relax when everything is done. You could say he was a man-workaholic.

"Hm, indirectly, you're telling me that you don't like me being here, right?"

"Ahem, forget about that topic; I heard your secretary is new again." continued Janssen, changing the subject between the two.

Hearing his father's question, Leon was again unable to focus on the work on the laptop. "How did Daddy know?" he asked with a curious expression.

Instead of answering, Janssen asked again. "And I heard that your new secretary is the youngest daughter of the George family? Is that right?"

Leon glanced at his father, still with a questioning expression. Why was his father so curious and meddling about everything in his company? "Hmm."

Heard Leon's cough, Janssen nodded his head several times.

"Why is it?" asked Leon, who was a little disturbed because his father asked about his new secretary.

Janssen stood up from the couch and shook his head. "No, I just want to make sure; I hope this is the last secretary, Son," Janssen replied, patting Leon's shirt briefly before walking away from Leon's room.

However, before that, Janssen said again, "Don't forget to teach Keylo a lesson! I'm going home."

Leon, who had been astonished and wondering about his father's strange behavior, nodded reflexively when he heard his father's last words.

"Weird," Leon muttered after his father left.

***

The car Ernest was driving had just arrived right in front of his house at eight in the evening. His duties at the hospital had just finished, which made him come home late and stay longer than usual.

The man looked surprised when he saw a red and black foreign car parked in the yard. As far as he could remember, his family did not have a car like that, let alone his older brother, William.

If only his father or mother bought a new car, it would definitely look new, but the car that Ernest saw was not a new car.

"Are there any guests?" muttered Ernest before he decided to go into the house and turn off his guesses himself.

Arriving at the living room, Ernest did not see anyone; his steps did not stop. Arriving near the living room, he just heard a conversation between two people, one of whom was so foreign to his ears.

"What the hell!" Ernest muttered after taking a full look at who was in the living room.

There you can see his parents, Cilla, and two other men of different ages sitting in front of their parents.

"Why so soon?" Ernest muttered again, already understanding the situation.

Ernest understood that the two men of different ages who were guests at his house were none other than friends and sons of his father's friends. Ernest also understood that they were definitely discussing arranged marriages.

"Dad? Mom? So soon?"

Immediately, all the people in the living room turned to Ernest with different looks, for example, Cilla, who immediately felt relieved to see her second sister there. The girl's gaze looked at her sister with so much hope.

"Ernest, sit here first, Mommy! Explain!" Prana spoke calmly.

In contrast to the two people who were guests, they looked at Ernest with questioning looks. Frans, who understood the gaze, chuckled.

"Sorry, this is my second son, Jeff; his name is Ernest," Frans said to his friend Jeffrey.

"Oh, I wonder who it was, Frans," replied Jeffrey, nodding his head.

While Ernest instead sat beside his mother, it was the man who asked Cilla to come with him.

"Mom, Dad, I want to talk alone with Cilla. I'll take Cilla for a while," Ernest said without preamble. He immediately grabbed Cilla's wrist until the girl was a little surprised, but it was undeniable that Cilla felt very relieved to be able to leave the situation that made her very sad. uncomfortable.

How come? Cilla had always felt that the gaze of the man she was going to betrothed to kept fixing on her to the point where she felt uncomfortable. As Cilla remembered, the man introduced himself as Neiro, who had been trying to engage her in conversation since , but Cilla always ignored him.

Handsome. Neiro can be said to be handsome-even taller than Cilla with an athletic body-but all of that doesn't impress Cilla.

"Ernest–"

Before Frans could continue his words, Ernest first took Cilla away from the living room. It seemed that Ernest took his sister out of the house, leaving two important guests who were with their parents.

Seeing that, Frans stood up, about to chase after his two children, but Prana held his hand, and he looked at him then shook his head, indicating that he would not allow the man to chase after them.

"All right, Dad," Prana said slowly.

Frans took a deep breath, looking at Jeffrey and Neiro with an uncomfortable look. "Huff! I'm sorry, sorry for Ernest's arbitrary behavior," he said, which was immediately returned by a smile from Jeffrey.

In contrast to Neiro, who had been seen staring at Ernest and Cilla's departure with a look of distaste, as if he were holding back his anger in front of Cilla's parents.

"It doesn't matter; I also happen to be going home; maybe later Neiro will come here again sometime to meet Cilla as their approach," Jeffrey replied casually, feeling no problem with Cilla leaving with Ernest.

Hearing that Prana and Frans smiled uncomfortably. "Once again, we apologize," said Prana.

"That's fine, Prana, isn't it, Neiro?"

Neiro suddenly nodded. "Ah yes, no problem, Auntie; next time I will take Cilla for a walk as a form of our approach," she agreed with her father's words.

It can be concluded that Neiro happily accepted his arranged marriage with Cilla. I don't know what made the man immediately accept their arranged marriage.

Yes, Neiro, you are welcome to come here anytime," Frans replied while smiling kindly, and so did Pranan.

"Thank you, Uncle, Auntie," said Neiro, looking so polite.

Jeffrey smiled at him. Okay, it looks like it's time for me and Neiro to go home," he said as he got up from the couch.

Like Jeffrey, Neiro also got up from the couch. It was quite tiring for him, who always talked to Cilla, but the girl didn't once respond, even though Neiro seems to have developed feelings for Cilla.

"Be careful on the road," ordered Prana.

Jeffrey and Neiro nodded before the two of them drove out of the Georges' driveway.

Prana and Frans returned to the house with a little chat that made Prana sigh roughly.

"I ask you to persuade Cilla again to accept this match. I'm very sure Ernest will influence Cilla so that she doesn't accept this match. For Ernest, I'll take care of it myself later," said Frans, who could only nod Surrender by Prana.

It seems that Prana's husband's decision is really unanimous, even though Prana's intention was not to force Cilla.

**

"How?" asked Ernest after taking Cilla away from the house.

Now the pair of siblings is in the middle of one of the parks, which is quite far from their house, and the two of them sit on chairs with the surrounding conditions neither too crowded nor quiet.

"How's it going, bro?" asked Cilla back.

The girl had time to daydream, thinking about the continuation of the arranged marriage requested by her father. Earlier, he had almost persuaded his father, but the guests had arrived first. As a result, Cilla has not persuaded her father about the match.

Ernest took a deep breath. "What do you think about the arranged marriage? I'm sure you must have originally rejected the match, right?"

Without hesitation, Cilla nodded; she was not at all afraid to be honest with Ernest. "Yes, I was going to persuade Daddy, but it was too late because the guest had already come first," he replied, looking down at his hands that were linked together. His head suddenly felt dizzy just thinking about an arranged marriage that doesn't.
