Chapter 4 Freaking Ex

Third person's P. O. V

Kylie came out of the CEO's office looking lost. She was so lost in her thought that she didn't realize where she was going and bumped into the door of her office.

"Ouch", she cried out in pain and rubbed her now-red forehead.

"Watch out girl. Where were you lost?" Cindy asked her from behind. Her voice was full of concern.

"I was just thinking about something, don't worry I am okay now." Kylie opened her office door and entered her small office followed by Cindy on her back. She went to her chair and Cindy took the chair opposite her.

"You seemed lost since this morning, don't tell me the dream of your ex is still haunting you here," Cindy tried to crack a joke but Kylie didn't seem to laugh at her little approach. Which made Cindy worried for her best friend. She placed a hand on Kylie's hand and squeezed softly.

"Hey, what's bothering you? You know that you can tell me anything right? Is it something related to your father's health?" Cindy asked with concern.

"My dad is okay. And you are right. It is related to my ex," Kylie explained with a deep sigh.

"What happened to your ex?" Cindy asked her.

"He is here. And from now on I have to work with him." Kylie finished the line in one breath.

"What do you mean by he is here? And why would you have to work with him?" Cindy frowned unable to understand what Kylie was trying to say. Then suddenly her face lit up like a bulb. "Don't tell me he is one of the bodyguards of the new CEO. I never knew you dated a muscled man before. No wonder you didn't like any regular men from work all this time." Cindy said and winked at Kylie. Which she responded with a huff.

"Stop your imaginary games, Cindy. None of the bodyguards is my ex, the new CEO is." Kylie yelled at her friend's imagination.

Cindy froze in her place for a moment. It took her a few moments to digest the new information Kylie gave her. When she realized that Kylie wasn't joking with her then she screamed in joy.

"Yeeeeeee"

"What are you doing you dumb woman?" Kylie rushed to cover Cindy's mouth with her hand. "Why are you screaming? Do you want both of us to be jobless?" Kylie whisper yelled at her friend and closed the door of her office so that no one can hear their conversation.

"What did you expect to be my reaction? The new hot CEO is the freaking ex-boyfriend of my bestie. That's so dramatic. It is also possible that both of you will fall in love again," Cindy exclaimed dreamily.

"In your dreams, I would never fall in love with him ever again. Also, he seemed to hate me more than I hate him." Kylie explained while taking her seat again.

"What did you mean by he seemed to hate you? Have you both talked? Oh, I just remember you went to his cabin a while ago no wonder you were so lost to bump into the door," Cindy continued asking questions to Kylie when the intercom of the office rang.

"Bring a black coffee within five minutes." A cold voice said from the other end of the call.

"Okay sir," Kylie replied and put the receiver down.

"I have to go back to my work. Now Miss Cindy if you would excuse me?" She told to Cindy with a faint smile and went to the pantry to make coffee for the CEO.

At the pantry, Kylie made a strong black coffee. She remembered clearly how he liked his coffee four years ago. After making the coffee she placed the cup on a tray and took it to the CEO's office. She knocked twice before entering the office. But what she saw inside the room made her freeze in her spot. A girl was sitting on Caleb's lap and kissing him hungrily while his hands were roaming all over her body. At the sound of the door opening, they both stopped their make-out session and looked at Kylie. Only then did Kylie recognize the girl. It was Samantha Cole, with whom Sebastian cheated on her four years ago.

"Who gave you permission to come inside my fiance's office?" Samantha yelled at Kylie in her high-pitched voice.

"I knocked twice before entering the room," Kylie said in her defense.

"You knocked but did I give you permission to enter? Or you just thought that you can do anything here?" This time it was Sebastian who barked at Kylie.

"You asked me to bring your coffee, so I thought you must be waiting for the coffee. Also, I always worked this way with the previous CEO," Kylie replied to him. She wasn't a weak girl to be bullied by her ex and his girlfriend.

"I am not the old CEO that you can lure by your charm. Now will you give that coffee to me or you will take it to your previous boss?" Sebastian yelled at her. Kylie silently put the cup of coffee on his table and left his cabin. Sebastian took the cup and sipped on the coffee and his face became harder.

After Kylie came back to her office she heard the intercom ringing. When she picked it up, Sebastian asked her to go back to his cabin. Reluctantly Kylie went back to his cabin. This time she knocked on the door and waited for his response. After hearing a "Come in" from inside she pushed the door open. However, as soon as she entered the room someone threw coffee at her face. Shocked she looked at the person who threw the coffee at her and it was her ex, the new CEO. She was about to yell at him but Sebastian paused her.

"I don't know how you managed to be the PA of the CEO. You can't even make a single cup of coffee." He commented at her.

"Oh baby, you know very well how she managed to get this position, of course by getting on their bed," Samantha commented from behind him.

Kylie couldn't hold back her tears anymore. Is this how her life going to be from now on?
