Emily sat by the window, gazing out at the cityscape below. The twinkling lights of the city mirrored the confusion in her heart. Later that week, Emily found herself seeking the advice of her other friend, Mark. Mark was a hopeless romantic, always ready with a grand gesture or a cheesy line. He listened intently as Emily poured out her heart once again.
