Chapter 3 Meeting the Prince

Edmund's POV

"I don't want to get married to Harper, Dad. Why don't you understand," I slam the marriage papers on the table.

"But why not, she's pretty and her father is the owner of the Smiths industries. It's a great deal, we can expand our business' together," he replies without even thinking about what I want.

"That's the reason I don't want to get married, because it's just a business deal," I didn't want to marry Harper, the thing is that she's obsessed with me and I don't want to commit to anyone right now. I don't believe in this marriage shit.

"You're my only son Edmund, and I'm getting old. I want to see your children before I die, that's all I want and Harper is a good girl. She'll be here in a few minutes, then you two can discuss everything with each other," he stands up using his walking stick. It's true that he's getting old but I can't sacrifice myself for his desire to see his grandchildren.

And I won't ever marry Harper, she's crazy. When I was dating her, she found out about the girl with whom I had a one night stand, Harper got her fired from her workplace and made sure that she wouldn't get a job anywhere else. I can't live my life with a woman like her, I'll be ruining my own life I married her. I have to get myself out of this situation.

"Dad, I already have someone that I like. I can't marry Harper," I spat out the only thing I could think of at that moment. He instantly stopped and turned around, I could tell from his facial expressions that he was shocked. I have never been in love, yeah I have fucked girls I've been attracted to but I never thought of marrying one. My dad knew me well and that was the reason he couldn't believe what I just said.

"What? What did you just say? You like someone, that ridiculous! You never said a word about it before," he doubted me and I had to think of something fast to convince him.

"She's not rich like us, she's a commoner. I thought you'd never accept her, that's why I never told you about her before," I look straight into my dad's eyes and lie. He gave me a look that seemed like he still wasn't convinced.

The clock was ticking and it was my only chance to get rid of Harper and the marriage plan my father had already decided for me.

"Hi! Here's your order."

I hear a girl's voice coming from just outside my office. I couldn't let go of this opportunity.

"Ah-she's here," I say and rush outside my office. Thankfully, it was a girl in her twenties, her light green eyes perfectly matched with her rich golden brown hair color. I would have definitely wanted to bang het if she wasn't wearing her uniform.

"EDMUND," I hear my father yell from inside the office as he followed me outside. I grab the girl from her waist and pull her in, her chest collided with mine and I leaned in to kiss her. Her lips were soft, I could taste the strawberries she might have had before coming here. Her eyes were widely open but she didn't pull away, maybe she was too shocked to comprehend anything.

From the corner of my eye, I see Harper standing in front of the elevator, her mouth wide open at the sight in front of her. She stomped her feet in anger and left while crying dramatically.

"Harper! Dear, it's not what you-," my father tried to stop her but she didn't listen.

"I'll deal with you later," he said as he walked past us and went after Harper.

Ella's POV

A man just walked past us in with his walking stick in his hand, he said something that I didn't quite hear. I was too stunned by what had just happened, this man just grabbed me and kissed me out of nowhere. This man was no other than the CEO of the company I was currently standing in, the company I wanted to work for. I've seen him on news and he's quite popular among women, he's tall, handsome and most of all he's rich. He's everything a women could ask for, but it didn't matter who he was, he kissed me without my consent and I had to teach this rich bitch a lesson.

I push him away and slap him hard on the face. I don't care if he had his reasons to kiss me, but I have been fooled enough. I might have been raised in an orphanage, but I'm not that weak. I won't let some rich man kiss me, I own my body and no body gets a right to touch me however they like.

"Who do you think you are, huh? Does being rich give you the right to do anything you want," I open the lid of a coffee cup and throw the black coffee on white shirt which looked brand new to me. This is what you get for kissing me without my consent.

I've never liked the rich, they're all a bunch of pretentious people or maybe I just tell that to myself because I never got to experience what it's like to have everything, but I won't tolerate everything just because the one standing in front me is the CEO of the biggest company in the country.

"Let me explain, I...," he tries to say something but I'm in no mood to hear his shitty explanation.

"I don't want to see your face ever again. I hope you like our coffee," I place the coffee cup on the counter and leave before he could stop me. I wasn't afraid if he sued me for assaulting him, I've have already lost everything. He kissed me first and I just made it even by throwing coffee at him.
