Chapter 8 The Beast is Murdered

'You beast! You monster! You took advantage of my poor innocent daughter last night and left her to die. If I had not woken when I did and taken her to the clinic where I could not even pay for her treatment because you stole my hard earned cash and yet you have the heart to still do this to her? She was supposed to be your daughter. You were supposed to be a father to her, not her rapist'.

'Her father? Are you delusional? Was I the person who made you pregnant before you gave birth to her? How are we then related? Daughter indeed.

Did she tell you that she did not enjoy every moment of it? Do you know how hard she screamed with pleasure last night? But no, how could you? You were drunk and had passed out and could not hear your daughter's scream. Someother you are.

And today, she did not even svream because she had hot used to it. Go to her, she is merely pretending because she heard your voice.

She delibrately stayed home so that we could be alone and continue what we did last night and you are here being worried for her.

In fact,I do not want to bed with you anymore. She is a better choice

Everything is still firm, tight and intact and not yours that is hanging like a pendulum'.

Mira could not believe that she had been living with this monster in her house and had endangered her daughter in the process.She picked a bottle to hit him on the head.

'You beast. You will never get away with this!' but before she could hit him on the head, he had taken hold of the bottle and pushed her roughly on the floor and started giving her heavy punches. He beat her till she could not move a muscle.

'This is to teach you to raise your hands on me next time. He tote off her clothes and raped her with such savage brutality that she fainted.

She knew that she could not report this to the police. She did not have the money to follow up the case and Ken would say that she and her daughter were prostitutes who he had paid to spend some time with but that they were laying claims because they wanted him to give them more money.

And that would end the case and she would have only succeeded in ridiculing her daughter and exposing her to the world.

Such things were rampant I. that part of Soho and the police may not even take them seriously.

She thought if what to do. She had to run away with her daughter but how was she going to do that? Ken would find them wherever they went and she did not have the money for another room. And if she did, how were they going to survive because she would have to stop working for her boss and so would her daughter. To get another job was not so easy these days especially since they had no formal education. Though Mirabel had had a little formal education while her father was still alive but Mira doubted that was enough.

But if they kept staying there,Ken would keep taking advantage of them. What if he raped her daughter to death? She was not even sure that her daughter would ever be okay again. She had been a ting weird since this morning. What if she was now mentally disabled?'

She had been able to get some money from her boss. The man was kind and had asked her not to pay him back but to take care of her sick daughter.

She took Mirabel once more to the doctor who injected her and gave her some lotion to rub in her private area. And some more medicines.

She felt that she did not need for herself, she would survive Ken's abuse. She only needed to take some pain killers.

They got home. And Mirabel fell into a deep sleep. It must have been through exhaustion or from the effect of the drugs.

Mira was determined not to leave her side anymore.

Ken came back and could not find his food where it was always kept. He went to the pot and found it empty.

'What is the meaning of this?' he asked.

'Why is there no food in the house?'

Mira did not respond. She felt that she could not dignify that question with an answer.

'Am I speaking to deaf people in this house? How can a man get back after a hard day's job and not find food in the house?'

The noise woke Mirabel but she lay there as though she were still asleep.

'I shall kill the both of you for this rebellion', Ken threatened.

Mira could not be silent any longer.

'You had better do that, the man who had come home after a hard day's job. The hard job you did was what? Was it raping my weak daughter and when I caught up red handed and got angry you beat me up and raped me as well? You stole my money and you expect there to be food? With the hard day's job you did,you must have been paid. Bring the money, let's prepare something for us all to eat. I am famished myself.

Miranda now knew what must have happened when she passed out. So the beast battered her mother and then raped her?

He had to die.

'It would seem that you now know how to wag your tongue? You are no longer the respectful and submissive woman I had married.

You haven't seen anything yet. I shall repeat everything I have done to you and your daughter this night and you will not be able to do anything.

As a matter of fact, you shall watch while I take your daughter this night and I shall do it repeatedly and after that, I shall take you and if either of you try to stop me, the result will be dire . Be warned and just resign yourselves to your fate'.

Miranda felt a burning hatred for this man and knew that if she did not kill him, she would never be at peace.

Her mother could not control her temper. She jumped on Ken hitting him with a broom and then a stick close by.

Ken had not expected the attack. He was taken unawares but then he recovered quickly and was furious. He pulled Mira by the hair and it was so painful that tears sting her eyes.

Miranda watched this and her hatred for the man increased.

Ken gave her mother a thunderous slap that caused her to fly to a part of the house.

Ken followed her there and pulled her up through her hair and parts of her hair fell off.

Miranda did not know when she stood up and as Ken wanted to give her mother a mighty punch on her stomach, Miranda stabbed Ken with all her strength with the dagger she found lying close to where she had been lying.

Ken did a double take, looked at his attacker in astonishment. It was clear that he had not expected that attack and definitely not from Miranda whose spirit he thought he had broken.

His hands crept to his stomach and the blood gushed out. He swayed towards her but fell down before he could get to her.

Mira ran to her daughter to hug her. Miranda looked at the dagger in shock as it fell off her hands before her mother's arms wrapped round her.
