Chapter 2 Publicity Stunts

Belinda's POV

I had been over the moon since I got home from the beach, so excited and overwhelmed. The whole thing was still very much real to believe. Like really? The promising Kelly Gregg and I engaged? Jeez!

After the big question was popped up, and I said yes, we had a little celebration over some glasses of red wine and then minutes later, we started the journey back home.

As soon as I got home, I immediately dashed into my room and changed from the bikini into something sweet, a black glam gown.

Then I picked up my phone and went live to update my fans on the latest news. Jeez! I couldn't believe this, the internet was already buzzing, Felix had really done a great job in inviting the movie crew.

That was exactly how I wanted and wished my proposal to be, publicized.

I finished with my live sessions and then went on to take pics of the beautiful ring on my finger, and I posted.

As soon as I was done, I went downstairs only to meet another shocker.

My mom, my little sis and a few of the family friends were already gathered in the large living room patiently waiting for me.

"Here comes who just got engaged", Becky my sister announced and the popping of a champagne followed immediately.

I was so astonished that I couldn't move a little further, I stopped in my tracks, still on the stairs, and watched, with smiles written all over my face.

"Congratulations", they all squealed out, clapping and cheering.

That was when I finally descended the stairs and Becky was the first to rush up to me and we hugged.

"Congratulations big sister, I'm so happy for you", she said and I smiled.

"Thank you sis", I replied, then Mom came forward and we hugged as well.

I hugged some other people, greeted them, they congratulated me and I was grateful to them for showing up.

Then the three of us went over to have a time together; my mom, sis and I. I sat down on the couch, and they both sat beside me.

"Woah big sis, you are really really trending, my goodness!", she exclaimed as her eyes were glued to her phone.

"Really?", I asked sheepishly.

"Yeah, everyone is literally talking about it. Awwn big sis, I'm so happy for you", she said pouting and I smiled.

"Thank you", I replied looking down on my finger and admiring the ring.

"Wow! I really can't believe it myself, so we would be planning a wedding and marriage ceremony very soon?", my mom asked and I laughed.

"Yes mama", I replied still admiring the ring.

"This ring is so beautiful, I know it must have cost Kelly a lot", mom said, her eyes on the ring.

I made a face.

"Yeah, not that expensive though, it's just five thousand dollars", I said.

Their eyes widened in shock.

"I knew it!", Mom exclaimed.

"You call five thousand dollars just? Huh?", Becky questioned, "and how do you even know? Were you with him when he bought it?", she jovially asked and I frowned.

"Will you shut up? How does that bother you?", I asked and she made a face.

"Kelly didn't do it well this time, he should have invited me to the proposal", Mom said, and we both turned to her.

"Huh? So you would do what there?", Becky asked.

Mom laughed.

"Ah ah! So I would let everyone know that my daughter is getting married soon", she said and I snorted.

"Nope, so you would steal my spotlight with that backside dancing of yours", I said, demonstrating with my arms and shoulders, Mom bursted into laughter.

"Yes of course, trust me", she replied and got up, then began dancing, Becky and I bursted into laughter.

"Exactly what I just talked about", I said amidst laughter, then directed my attention to my phone.

"You know what? I would go now to call all my friends and tell them that my daughter is getting married soon, we are trending", Mom said and left, laughing hysterically leaving us in total awe.

"What! How did Mom come to know about that word?", Becky asked, totally surprised.

I shrugged my shoulders.

"I'm as surprised as you too", I said.

"Yo! Jeez!", Becky exclaimed amidst laughter.

"I think I need to visit the beauty spa, I might just run into Jasmine, so that I can show off my bling bling", I enthused, admiring my finger as I did.

"Looks like you still haven't gotten over your rivalry with Jasmine", Becky said and I turned to her.

"Rivalry? Is that what you guys call it now?", I grimaced then looked away, "oh please, she is no where close to me, she isn't even worthy to pick up my flip flop", I said, with an amusing expression on my face.

"Hmm, she just only joined the industry you know", Becky said, shrugging her shoulders.

I frowned.

"And that is the more reason I need to put her in her place, since she came in, she has always been wanting to take my shine away", I replied, fuming.

"Hmm, it's okay", Becky replied with a careless look on her face, I didn't mind.

"Thank you. And then I would stop at my husband to be, ahhh...", I tucked my hair behind my ear, "I think he is over the moon right now, and overwhelmed that I said yes to him", I replied.

"Right", Becky nodded, "and also do tell him that you are trending", she said and we both bursted out laughing.

Kelly's POV

"Do not tell me to calm down, this wasn't what we discussed earlier on", I shouted and yelled, my voice echoing in the large living room as we descended the stairs, Felix and I.

"Really? I thought you understood what I was doing, I thought you knew the plans already", Felix argued, trying his best not to yell back at me.

"Knew what?", I shouted, we were now in the living room, "knew what exactly?", I asked, really vibrating in anger.

"We had all this planned out Kelly, and you knew it. I really don't know why you are upset", he said.

"Really?".

"Yeah, I actually thought you knew what I was doing", he said and began walking towards the kitchen, I followed him.

"Bro, I knew nothing. You just made publicity of what was supposed to be a private and simple...".

"Proposal, I know", he interrupted and I sighed, "but I'm sorry to disappoint you, it just had to happen that way".

"Felix", I called and he stopped in his tracks.

"Look Kelly I really need to be honest with you, you are a celebrity, a very famous and prominent one at that, nothing about you is private bro", he said.

"But why don't you let me decide that? You didn't even pre-inform me that you were gonna invite the whole movie crew", I argued.

"That was because I really didn't want you to freak out".

"Of course I'm gonna freak out, you really do know I dislike all these publicity stunts, especially when it concerns my private life and affairs", I said and his eyes widened.

"Hey, you can't dislike it Kelly, you can't. You should learn to embrace it, this is how we get the money, this is how the money flows in bro", he said and I was just too short of words to reply, I only kept staring at him rant all those wordings.

"What is even wrong with you?", he continued, "is it because I didn't invite May from the Entertainment World to witness it as well", he said blinking his eyelids and I immediately punched him on his right arm.

"Ahh!", he exclaimed in pain, "all these are for your good. Have you checked your Instagram? Go check it and see the huge traffic we are causing online, bro this proposal is one in a million", he kept on talking.

"You must be sick in the head", I finally let loose my anger and he bursted into laughter, rubbing the arm where I had punched.

"You should be happy I'm doing you good, you are supposed to be thanking me even", he said looking away.

"I should be thanking you", I mimicked him.

"Yeah, sure", he nodded.

I was just too not in the mood to reply his barrage of talks, the best thing to do was just to ignore him, and I quickly did.

"You aren't serious yet", I said and climbed up the stairs, heading for my room.

He laughed.

"I really need to get us some soda, your blood level is just increasing over unserious stuffs", I heard him say laughing, and dashing into the kitchen.
