Chapter 4 First Kiss

Chapter Four:

Throughout the whole ordeal, Amelia remained silent as the scene played around her. The way Sebastian spoke in her stead and the furious reaction he made when Trent touched her reminded her of multiple things and sent many thoughts through her mind. It was mainly the way Sebastian acted as if he had already claimed her.

So there was one, big question that lingered on her mind... was he meant to be her mate? The one she is destined to be with? Does he feel the same sensation she does? She wondered and wondered. But in the end, she convinced herself all she could do is wonder.

Amelia thought that she had already found her mate, and yet her instincts were wrong. Dillon had gradually lost interest in her. That's not what happens to mates, is it? Not when you've found the one you're meant to be with. Yet Amelia knew the wolf she is holds little strength. Might as well be an omega. Her instincts were wrong about Dillon. And they could be wrong again. Amelia was beginning to believe that her instincts are nothing but imagination and yearning.

"Sorry about that..." Sebastian snapped Amelia out of her deep thoughts of self-doubt.

Scoundrel, bad boy, the devil himself... those descriptions were fairly accurate. And yet when Amelia looked into his eyes, there was genuine sincerity in those flames. Where Trent had previously touched her was now replaced by Sebastian's big, firm hand.

"No... no, don't apologize. Trent has always been a bit overprotective. He's like an older brother to me. He's been defending me honestly my whole life." Amelia murmured with a soft smile, her eyes just as affectionate when speaking about her childhood friend. She's always been grateful to him. Even when fights provoked by nonsense were made, Amelia knew it was always because he had her best interests at heart. And didn't want her to end up in a sticky situation or worse, hurt.

"An older brother? Are you sure about that?" Sebastian watched her perceptively while taking another sip of what was left of his drink.

"Of course. We've been like this since we were children. Nikki has always been just as bad... but she's more sassy instead of violent." Amelia confessed with furrowed brows. His sudden inquisition confused her. She's known Trent for as long as she can remember. Nothing has ever changed between them.

"You have some trustworthy friends. They seem to care deeply about you." The pensive look in Sebastian's eyes starts to ease up as he places his glass back onto the counter. His words were short and sweet, and yet they still brought an endearing smile to Amelia's pink lips. A smile that showed she had forgotten everything about last night.

"Yes, I'm very fortunate. Nikki has always had a mouth on her that's gotten her and, well, all of us in trouble many times. Trent has always been a big goofball and pranked us a lot when we were children. He only teases us most of the time now but he still catches us off-guard sometimes. There was this one time when," Amelia caught herself rambling on and she instantly started blushing and looked away awkwardly. Sebastian couldn't help but chuckle when he watched her chirpiness immediately shrink along with her just out of sheer embarrassment. It was the first time she's started to show emotions since she walked through the inn's doors.

"That's better."

His words bring a confused look to Amelia's face. Her blush only deepened when his hand reached over to her braid and his thumb ran down the twists.

"You looked broken when you first walked in." His gentle murmur brought back a familiar sting that she had finally started to forget about. Once again that familiar feeling of a hand squeezing the life out of her heart until it bursts. Her head hung as the life she just regained started to drain from her eyes. But her depression didn't completely sink in when the braid that Sebastian was playing with was dropped and his hand moved beneath her chin, lifting it up where she couldn't escape his eye contact.

"Let go tonight." He whispers while leaning in closer to her face, close enough that she could feel his hot breath against her lips. Amelia's eyes closed as she waited to feel pressure against her lips but instead, his warmth faded and his hand removed. Sebastian had already leaned back into his seat and took another sip of his beverage. Tempting the timid wolf with a hungry, burning stare from beneath his eyelashes, finally started to show his true colors now that her bodyguards were gone.

Let go tonight? Amelia thought to herself as she stared into his eyes and then down at her drink. His words were hypnotizing and his fiery stare could numb your mind into following his command. But at this point, she was desperate enough to feel anything other than the painful betrayal from last night. Amelia followed his lead and this time threw her head back to chug what was left of her drink. She immediately gagged and coughed but before she could reject what was left in her glass, he put a finger at the bottom of the cup and slowly pushed it back up to force her to finish what was left. Amelia coughed again but quickly adjusted to the smell and taste where it wouldn't bother her as much. She gasped for air as soon as her glass was empty and when she set it down on the table, she was able to look at him and saw that his demeanor had changed. Her instincts were right about one thing, he was wearing a mask. All along he was on a hunt. To separate her from the herd, make her let down her guard, and fix to pounce. And she was the prey.

The words "leg go tonight" continued to spin in her mind as if she had just been brainwashed. She could pick up his scent now and it held a restless lust. Amelia didn't move as Sebastian leaned in closer and once again she could feel the warmth of his breath against her skin. Again she wondered, why me? Boring, bland Amelia. Her own mate betrayed her, rejected her, and left her. But those "why me" thoughts changed instantly the moment she felt his lips press against hers. Those words barking loud in her brain were "I want him."

Sebastian leaned in closer to press his lips more roughly against her delicate ones, his hand sliding to the back of her neck and giving it a light squeeze. Amelia let him take control, not that she had much choice since she was quite smaller in both size and frame compared to him. The rest of their pack didn't even notice the two beginning their passionate moment. The sounds of their chatter amongst each other blurred into the background as Amelia's tunnel vision focused on the wolf who had caught her in his tight grasp. Their kiss became more feverish and the wolf within her stirred, demanding more and making her nip at his lip. The timid little girl from before was starting to melt away into something more feral. That little bite provoked a bigger reaction out of him, now yanking her onto his lap to force his tongue inside her mouth, claiming it without much effort. Amelia was a lightweight when it came to drinking, being drunk didn't exactly make her strong enough to give any resistance. Within his clutches, soaking in his taste and scent, she surrenders her body into his arms.
