Chapter 2 To Become an Assassin

I left with the assassins to their base, they offered me to stay there until their General arrives. Their General arrived, she was a girl in her mid-thirties,she offered me to join, but I didn't want anything involving with assassins so I rejected her offer.

She then explained that if I won't join,they won't hurt me, they just wouldn't let me go because I know the location of their secret headquarters.

"I'll give you time to change your mind".

I thinked about it for a long time and said to myself, maybe I'll get rich through this and I could help my village too.I think I don't have a choice but to join these assassins.

"I have made my decision, I will join you",I said.

The General told me to be at the meeting tonight

When I went to the meeting, the general told me that I have to undergo training first with these assassins before going to missions.

"All of them are so weird", I said to myself.

"You have to be their subordinate for the whole week", the General said.

I asked if I can earn money from the missions I will do. They said I will, if I will work hard,and some clients pay a great amount of money.

Then I saw that everyone has a certain weapon. I asked them about it, they said it was called Majestic Arms, and when you become a Majestic Arms wielder, you will be considered powerful enough.

Then the General started introducing all of them. The wielder of the poison sword is Agane, when her sword slashes you even in your fingers, the sword's poison will spread all over your body in a few seconds.

Leona the wielder of the beast claws, it can pierce enemies even with the hardest armors, she also has regenerative abilities, also the girl who scammed me.

Sheila is the one with the laser gun, Luke is the wielder of the invisible armor. He is also a former General of the royal capitol,but after he witnessed the killing of innocent people and corruption, he decided to join us and be part of Nightfall Raiders.Everyone is here for the same reason.

"So you're all some type of assassins for justice". Wow! That's so cool", I yelled in excitement.

Then suddenly Sheila laughed at me, "What assassin of justice are you talking about".

"But isn't that right? Why are you laughing", I said.

She replied, "Even if we kill evil people, you can't deny the fact that we are still killing people, we don't have the right to judge a human's fate no matter how evil they are. I'm sure that one day we will all die as retribution for our actions,and you have to be ready for that".And you should never hesitate if you are about to kill your enemy or else, you will be the first one to be killed.

The day after, they trained me to fight, to wield weapons and everything I needed, then finally I went with Agane for my first mission.

Our target was a corrupt General who exploits poor people, causing them to be semtenced to death. We went to the location given to us, and we found him on a bar. Our plan was to lure him to a dark area, I pretended to be an applicant for the army, and I requested to talk to him in private.

He granted my request and we went to a dark alley, I begged him pretending that I am too desperate to join the army. He just said he doesn't accept nobodies or those he can't get benefits from.

I was furious, no way am I gonna show mercy for this kind of people. I pulled my sword to slash him, but I missed. Then he said maybe I'm a client of the girlfriend of the boy, which he exploited and was sentenced to death.

"After I kill you I'm gonna kill that worthless girl", he continued.

I was agitated by what he said, how could he treat people this way. I jumped high in the air, then I cut off his head. Mission accomplished, Agane and I went to the base after that.

The day after, I am in charge of cooking for everyone, all of them were fast and massive eaters. They kept on asking for seconds even I wasn't finished cooking yet.

Sheila was the one who was the one who always bully me a lot. Last time I was assigned to be her subordinate, the General told me to wake her up, when I opened her room I accidentally saw her changing, she screamed and fired her laser gun, luckily I was quick enough to dodge it.

"What's wrong with you? You almost killed me", I said in constant shock.

"You're lucky you dodged it", she replied with an angry voice. She was really trying to kill me after all, how crazy could she be.

All of us started doing missions together , we gotten closer as time flew by.

There was one mission that only Luke and I was assigned, we were on a ship, we pretended that we were just travelers, but the enemies really thought we were suspicious.

Then they started attacking us, they were powerful, and their swordsmanship was incredible.We were outmatched, we continued fighting until Luke was badly injured, but he still managed to defeat all of them. Little did we know, they placed a time bomb before the boat started sailing. The time was about to run out and I was desperately trying to carry Luke, so we could get out of the ship immediately. But we are both badly injured, so I have no strength either.

"Leave me here, use my invisible armor to escape", Luke said.

"Don't be crazy, I'm not leaving you here", I replied.

"I'll only slow you down, and I won't last long with this wounds Duke! I told you this could happen to anyone of us at anytime, now go! Don't worry, I won't think of this as you leaving me behind. It was an honor fighting alongside you Duke,good luck in finishing the mission of the team". This is the final words of Luke before retribution struck upon him.

I cried while I was leaving him, this is the second time I lost one of my friends.

When I got back to our headquarters, they were all saddened by the news I brought.
