**Sean's POV**

After sending Cora to her room, I went back to the study. There was something I needed to confirm with my Alpha, Pedro.

I knocked on the door before I entered the room.

"Come in."

I entered the room. Pedro was reading documents. The Mercado pack had business in many areas, including finance, real estate, and even the underworld. It was not easy to run such a big business empire. So Pedro was always busy. He was like an iron man, working 24*7, no stop.

After Pedro's father died, the other packs eyed our pack covetously, trying to ruin our pack and take up our business. But they didn't succeed. Pedro led the pack through the difficulties. Moreover, he expanded the pack's business and made the Mercado pack the most powerful pack in Dracburn.

But recently, some other packs envied us and secretly allied to deal with us. They constantly used some dirty tricks to take up our share of the market. There were also several incidents that we believed were aimed at Pedro. It made the board of directors become nervous. They were a group of old guys afraid that if Pedro died, no heir could take over the pack, and the pack would be ruined. So they urged Pedro to name a Luna and give birth to an heir as soon as possible. Otherwise, they would think of selecting another Alpha.

Of course, Pedro didn't agree. He never wanted a Luna. But that was a long story. Anyway, Pedro and the board finally made an agreement. He would have an heir as soon as possible, and the board would never mention the Luna again.

"Is everything alright?" Pedro heard me walk in and ask without raising his head.

"Yes. Tianna is responsible for Miss Oneal's daily routine," I answered.

"Tell Tianna to keep an eye on Miss Oneal. I want to know everything she does every day."

"Sure. Is it the reason you let her stay in the room next to you? It's Luna's suite. The other may misunderstand."

"She's going to give birth to my heir. I don't want any mistakes. No need to care about what others think."

But I still have something to be confirmed. "You said you would set Miss Oneal free after she gives birth to a baby. I thought our plan was to kill her after that. Is it..."

Pedro interrupted, "She will die. The plan is unchanged."

"You wouldn't say it unless you meant it."

"Are you afraid that I will become softhearted?" Pedro raised his head and sneered. "The pack is always my priority. That will never change." He paused and then continued, "Don't you think death is also a kind of freedom to her?"

I didn't reply. But I felt relief hearing that. I was glad that Pedro hadn't changed his mind. It might sound cruel to Cora. But it was best for Pedro and the Mercado pack.

I knew Pedro when he was a kid. We played and went to school together. Pedro was a joyous and carefree child at that time. We had done a lot of stupid things and were often scolded by his father, the former Alpha.

But things changed after his father died. I accompanied him through that time and knew he had suffered a lot to come this far. I witnessed him grow from a carefree boy to a cold-hearted Alpha. I had sworn long ago that I would always stand by his side, no matter what happened. I would support him as his Beta and best friend forever.

After getting the answer, I left the study. In the corridor, I saw Alicia.

Alicia was like a younger sister to Pedro and me. She was a little tail following us around when we were kids. There were many kids in the pack about the same age, but she always stayed with us. People said that she was spoiled by Pedro. I knew that was because Pedro took her as his family. Since Pedro's parents died, he seldom let others get close to him, except Alicia and me. So no matter what Alicia asked, Pedro always satisfied her. I had told Pedro not to spoil Alicia, but Pedro didn't listen. I could only hope that Alicia would not go too far.
