Chapter 4 Talking About Important Things

Kanayya walked quickly, leaving the basement where the apartment was parked. She walked toward the fire escape but didn't want to use the elevator because she suddenly felt afraid of Dean, who had been staring at her with intimidation.

As if she had done something wrong. The man was genuinely terrible. Climbing the stairs, Kannaya hissed as her leg hurt while stepping up. She stopped at the fifth step of the stairs and took a few deep breaths.

"I had forgotten Mister Dean had done that to me. How will I climb the stairs to get to the top floor?" Kannaya took a deep breath and looked at her watch, which showed half past nine.

The girl swallowed hard. She had to hurry because her studies at her campus would be held at ten o'clock later. Back walking, she climbed the stairs slowly. The thing she did on purpose was to avoid Dean. She felt that being close to that man would only cause more trouble. She didn't want Dean to remember what happened last night and then the man would scold her.

Even though he was the one who came home drunk, Dean sometimes liked to play the victim. It sucks.

"Huft, one more floor." Kannaya stared at the stairs up there. She climbed back up and carried the shopping bag in her hand.

Sweat dripped from his temple. Kannaya took several breaths with difficulty before finally arriving at the top and staring at the apartment door, which belonged to Dean.

His steps faltered. She was sure Dean was no longer there because she had gone to work or university. Who knows, he must have left because every morning, she always left the apartment after breakfast and let Kannaya do the housework and clean the apartment.

"Uh, why isn't the door locked?" She asked, confused, as she pushed the apartment door open. "Did Mister forget to lock it? Why was he suddenly downstairs? Is it possible to think that I am inside?"

Kannaya asks while walking inside and puts the bag on the floor. She saw the cigarette smoke flying towards him, and from the smell, he felt a mixture of mint and the typical aroma she usually smelled. Kanayya knew that it was the cigarette smoke Dean used.

"Mister Dean is still at home? He hasn't left yet?" he thought with a pounding heart.

She glanced around and found someone who looked relaxed sitting on the sofa. She turned her back and looked indifferent, but her aura felt stifling as if she wanted to eat it.

Kannaya took a breath as she stepped into the apartment. As much as possible, he did not make the sound of steps for fear of disturbing the man's comfort.

"Morning, Mister..." she greeted politely as he lowered her head slightly and held back his heartbeat.

Dean stared at her, expressionless and sharp, making Kannaya take her breath slowly with a sudden cold feeling on her forehead. Dean's piercing gaze made her smile awkwardly.

"Mister, why haven't you left yet? Do you need anything else?" She asked quietly, and that made Dean turn her head to the side front direction

"After you put down the groceries, come back here. I have something to talk to you about," he said coldly, making Kannaya swallow hard.

She nodded slowly, then walked away slowly. Dean watched the girl's feet while walking until a small smile appeared on his lips on seeing how Kannaya was trying to hide everything.

Kannaya seemed to be holding her chest when she arrived in the kitchen. She had never been this nervous when talking to someone before. However, every time she spoke and came face to face with Dean, all her joints seemed to be fragile, and she was unable to say anything.

"I purposely linger," she thought as he closed his eyes. "But if it takes too long, I'll be late for college. Where have I not eaten? I'm starving," she muttered while looking at the cake she bought.

"I'd better eat first, then arrange it when I get home. Anyway ..." Kannaya looks at the table, and the man has eaten the food she made for Dean. "Mister has also eaten his food. So I have to eat before going to campus."

Kannaya moved quickly, took the cake he bought for her earlier, and started eating it while standing. The cake was only two pieces, and the price was relatively high, but Kannaya didn't use his money to buy this. She used Dean's money.

After all, it's only a tiny amount of money. Even though she secretly opened a food business with a friend he knows in this city, she uses the money from the sale to pay for her college tuition.

"Is it still long? You think I have too much time to wait for you to eat, huh?"

Kanayya was taken aback. She choked on the cake she was eating and turned towards the door between the kitchen and living room, where the man was and seemed to be glaring at her.

"Mister..." She called out in panic as she quickly ate the rest of her cake and drank it immediately because Dean was still glaring at her sharply. "Sorry, Mister ... I'm starving. I didn't have time to eat because the food ran out. I went shopping first and only had time to eat now." She said with a face that looked worried and walked over after finishing her food.

Dean moved slowly, and he looked into the girl's eyes, which looked scared and panicked. He turns his head away, So Dean knows that this girl left immediately after waking up earlier, and it was a way to avoid her after what happened last night. And, of course, Dean knows that Kannaya's energy is running out until she needs to eat.

"Mister, what do you want to talk about?" asked Kannaya, slowly making Dean look at her again, who seemed to be linking her fingers with a nervous expression that could not hide if something was bothering her.

"Follow me."

Kannaya nodded slowly, walking when Dean was already walking towards the sofa where the man was sitting earlier. She stood on the opposite side and looked at Dean, who was already seated and seemed to be leaning back casually, stretching her arms out onto the arm of the single sofa he was sitting on.

"Sit down."

Kannaya blinked slowly, her face looked surprised, and it didn't escape the sight of Dean, who was staring at her until he could see Kannaya's face had a childish expression which made her look cute behind her beautiful face, which looked a little firm with her eyelashes curled.

"Sit down, Mister? On the couch?" She asked in disbelief causing Dean to glare at her.

"Just do what I tell you," his cold orders made Kannaya quickly realize and remember that he could not argue with this man's words.

Sitting there, Kanayya seemed to link her fingers and wait for Dean's words.

"I want to talk about divorce."

Gosh!

Kannaya raised her head and looked at Dean, who was already looking at her with raised chin and eyebrows. He asked, making Kannaya squeeze his interlocked fingers before asking.

"Erm, want to hurry up, Mister?
