Chapter 6 Nesta Helped Him

Now, Nesta was confused about what to do with the little boy. It was impossible to leave them behind.

Sitting together on the sidewalk, they would be mistaken for hobos! Nesta was a bit worried.

Danny's face, Nesta saw, looked pessimistic. A child as small as him, how big a problem could it be?

Danny seemed to be taking advantage of the situation.

"Are you unemployed?" the boy asked without preamble, making Nesta round her eyes. Why, this kid made Nesta remember someone.

"I'm not unemployed," Nesta replied while hugging her legs. Although the words just now were quite sharp she still wanted to accompany the boy patiently. "It just so happens that I'm off work today because I'm sick."

Danny then looked at Nesta from head to toe. Maybe he was confused about which part of Nesta was sick. The problem was that she was still walking strong, still talking loudly, and even looked healthier than most people.

Nesta knew what Danny had in mind when he reacted like that. Then she tilted her head to show her slightly swollen cheek.

"I have a toothache."

Danny then nodded. "If you have a toothache, you can still walk, right?"

Yes, that's right. Toothache can still walk, not paralyzed.

"Why are you asking me that?"

"Don't you want to help me?"

"What are you helping me with first?"

Danny then opened the bag to show a brochure inviting parents to participate in a children's creativity event held at his school.

"But, I'm not your parent."

Danny shook his head. "That's okay. Danny is usually only accompanied by a nanny."

Nesta furrowed her brow. "If you're usually accompanied by a nanny, you should just leave now, why are you sitting here?"

"I don't want to be teased by my friends anymore." She looked sad. "Every meeting I'm usually only accompanied by a nanny, the next day my friends will immediately say that I'm a nanny's child because I don't have a mother to accompany me."

Ouch, how is this. Did Nesta really want to go to accompany a child whose parents she didn't know to school?

Try to offer to call his father first, who knows later his parents can come or at least pick him up here so he doesn't wander on the street.

"Let's call your father first. I'm afraid I'll get the blame."

Danny looked sluggish. "It's useless, sis. My dad won't be able to pick up at this hour, he's already busy in a meeting."

Well, Nesta is getting upset if this is the story.

By the way, the main problem is not just that. It was impossible for Nesta to take the child to school. His cheek was swollen from a toothache.

It would be embarrassing.

Besides, Danny's father was cruel. Nesta was upset.

However, it's not good to keep sitting on the sidewalk.

For the sake of a brilliant future generation, Nesta was ready to make some sacrifices.

"Well, if you don't want to accompany me to school, it's okay."

"So, what do you want to do if you don't accompany me to school?"

Danny looked across the road to the police station. " I'll just go there." His chin twitched.

Gosh this kid is smart too. No wonder he had been sitting here casually because he didn't know there was a police station. How dare people mess with him.

Nesta was annoyed with him. "How did you know there was a police station there?"

" My dad taught me," Danny replied. "He said that if there's anything on the road, you have to find the safest place. He said the police station could be a safe place."

Nesta wanted to laugh even more at the boy's explanation. It was true, at least no kidnapper would dare to approach.

"But, if the police are busy, it's also dangerous for you. You might not be seen, or you might be snatched by the clowns."

Nesta was joking, she should have laughed. However, it seemed that Danny had his own burden so it was difficult to respond to the joke. Okay, it was time for Nesta to do something nice.

"You want to go to school, right?" Inevitably, Nesta would take the boy to school.

"Today is the second grade performance. There should be a papa or mama who can attend."

Nesta nodded.

"If there's no dad, can't the mom come too?"

Wait! Did Nesta ask the wrong question? Danny's face became even more glum.

"Where's your mom?" In the end, she became curious because of Danny's expression.

Sighing, Danny explained, " Dad never told me about mom."

How sad Danny's life is. Perhaps, his father is a masher who likes to leave his wife, then his son is sent home. Without a sender's name.

So, it's not clear which mother is which. Nesta analyzed it like that.

She patted Danny on the shoulder. " Be patient, okay," Nesta said.

Okay, back to the previous question. Does he want to go to school or not?

The answer is yes.

Danny wants to go to school. Even if he's late, it doesn't matter. His teacher will forgive him.

However, Nesta had to go to the boarding house first. Change her clothes, plus a little make-up so she's not too ugly.

At least, if she had applied powder and blush, there was a faint swelling on her cheeks.

Wait! Will she be doomed this time?

She said she was taking a work permit to have a total rest. Instead, she's having trouble with a little kid like this.

Calm down. God is merciful. His intentions were good, really-- helping people's children. It's a reward--it should be. Although there was an element of sin too. Lying to Shaun, who was so kind.

That's all right. Shaun would have forgiven her if he knew Nesta's reasons were good.

After leaving the boarding house, ordered an online motorcycle taxi. OTW to the school.

When they got there, in front of the school - right at the security post - Nesta was questioned by the security guard.

Not about why he was driving Danny, but about why he was an hour late.

Wanting to say that they had just met on the street, Nesta would be considered a bad person.

Her intention was to lie. But before she could say it, Danny's homeroom teacher showed up.

Fortunately. Nesta was afraid of sin. People lie, their tongues will be cut off later. How horrible!

"How come Danny just came?" The sweet and starry-eyed teacher smiled at them.

"There was a little disturbance earlier." Nesta grinned and explained. There was no authority.

"Right away, to class."

"Who is this?" Before leaving, the teacher asked about Nesta.

"Mommy-to-be!" Danny lightly, without any burden, called Nesta a mommy-to-be.

Danny's teacher's face became an unpredictable expression. Either, surprise, amazement or feeling impossible.

Yes. It was impossible for Danny's father to have a candidate like Nesta.

The teacher smiled, Nesta grimaced. She also didn't know what Danny's father looked like. Yes, if he was handsome. If .... Ah, I cannot imagine it, Nesta. How will it be!

Forget it. Now that it's not in vain, follow Danny to class first.

Passing through the corridor for about a few meters, Nesta was amazed by this school. I think it's a school for rich people. Just look, complete facilities, a good cafeteria, a large library, and ....

Entering the classroom, the class is also nice, with air conditioning too.

The school feels like a hotel.

I imagine Nesta used to go to school in the village. No air conditioning, no fan either.

How wonderful to be rich.

On the benches arranged in a circle, a couple of students and their guardians were busy making crafts.

"Nesta!" Danny shook Nesta's hand.

"Let's sit there." Danny's index finger pointed to a bench in the corner on the right.

"Okay!" Nesta wrapped her fingers around it.

Sitting down, ready to make a craft.

The other children were accompanied by their parents. Poor Danny was the only one who wasn't accompanied.

While working, Nesta asked a few questions, like she could.

"Your dad didn't come here. He's busy, isn't he?"

Danny, who was folding origami paper, nodded.

" My dad doesn't like to participate in activities like this. He prefers to work."

Sadistic father.

Next, Danny arranged the bird-shaped origami on the table.

He's great. Nesta kept failing.

"Danny doesn't like how papa keeps working. Not to mention the aunties who are busy courting him."

"You can't do that. Who knows, your papa is really busy. Papa, you want to take care of your own children. That's great, you know." Wow! Nesta could have been so wise. She felt like patting herself on the back.

"He must really love you," Nesta added.

Danny nodded with a smile. How strange. Nesta suddenly became affectionate with him, even though it was the first time they had met.

"You should be grateful. Instead of me."

"Doesn't your dad ever come to school with you?"

"No," Nesta snapped. "My father remarried after my mother died. Even so, he still loves me."

"So what?"

"I got a headache at home, so I rented a place of my own, and then looked for a job. Instead, I got a boss who acted like a demon!" Letting go. Nesta said a rude word in front of a child.

"Oh!" Danny's eyes rounded, his paper folding interrupted. "Your boss is evil?

"Very!" Nesta dramatized. He was even worse than all the 'invaders' Nesta had ever met. More annoying than Mickey. Uh, all the bad things are on him. Good thing he's handsome. If he was messy, there would have been a lot of witchcraft.

"Then, just work with my father."

Nesta raised one eyebrow. "Your father?"

"Yes. My father also has an office. You should go to Danny's father's office."

Seriously, Danny? Nesta was tempted. Maybe she could get a better life.

"My father is not mean to his employees."

Nesta clasped her hands together. "Ooh ...." Feeling excited and hoping Danny's words were true. "Seriously? If your father has a vacancy, then offer it to me, okay?"

Danny nodded.

Glancing at Nesta's work, he laughed. "You can't fold origami?"

"No!" Nesta grinned.

The happy and familiar atmosphere suddenly became horrifying.

The security guard met Nesta, asking her to come to the post. Not having said what the reason was, Nesta complied. Arriving at the location, she was told that Danny's father had just said that his son had run away from the nanny before leaving for school.

And, Nesta is suspected of being a stranger who threatens Danny's safety.

By claiming to be his future mother!

Nesta's explanation is not accepted. Danny was taken to the counseling room. Only until his father arrives can he see Nesta.

Unfortunately. Her intention was to gain merit, but instead she got slander.

Nesta was curious who Danny's father was, she swears.
