Nathan walks into the dimly lit security room, where one of his mafia family members, Charles, has his eyes glued to one of the screens. "Did you find out who killed Luciano?" Nathan said it with a stern look on his face. Charles looked at him with kind eyes and continued, "I heard he saved your life; did you not meet him?" "Her," Nathan corrected him. "And she didn't tell me her name; all I know is that she is an assassin." Charles was more confused than ever. "I looked everywhere, but there was no sign of the person who killed him. I mean, it's kind of weird.
It's like the person doesn't even exist." As the expression on Nathan's face changed, Charles continued, "Either she hired a very talented hacker like the Shadow or someone else, or she doesn't exist." "Find her," Nathan said, and he walked away. He had a meeting with the rest of his members. Each Mafia family had a bunch of members taking care of various things, both legal and illegal. As Nate stood there, he thought to himself that he had accomplished so much in an area he never wanted to be a part of, but he had no choice.
As they finished business, Nathan walked out of the room with his usual stride, but he heard Myles, one of his best friends, and both walked into his office. "I'm tired, Myles," he said. "Why don't we go out tonight?" Myles suggested, "I think I just need some sleep." Nathan was not a party animal. But Myles knew this was exactly what he needed. "Come on, man, you really do need it." Nathan sighs and caves in. Despite being a Mafia boss, he did listen to his best friend and care deeply about him.
An hour later, somewhere in the town, Maya walked into a crowded club, smiling at her best friends, Lari, who was bartending, and Lazarus, who just sat on the bar stool, chatting with her. As she walked in, everyone's eyes were drawn to her. She wore a blue fitted cropped dress that hugged her curves perfectly and showed off her abs. Her layered hair clung to her face, making her look more and more magnetic. Before she could say anything, Lazarus asked, "Don't you have a job tonight?" "I do, but I'll go after a drink," Maya said, grinning. Lazarus was going to Paris, and she was very happy to get rid of that nag. He did most of his jobs in various countries. Maya picked up her whiskey, and as she continued drinking, Lazarus ran to hit on a girl while Lari made an excuse for work.
Across the floor, there was a set of piercing blue eyes wandering until they landed on Maya's face. Nathan suddenly recognized her; he couldn't believe it. She looked gorgeous, he thought to himself. Out of nowhere, he told Myles he needed to leave and walked with long strides towards her while ignoring whatever Myles said in the background.
Maya was looking down at her drink when she felt someone walking towards her. She saw the neatly cleaned shoes, and as she started looking up, she started taking in the man in front of her, wearing black jeans and a leather jacket. It was Don; his chiseled body was almost visible through the shirt he was wearing. He was flashing a beautiful smile and said, "I know you." Maya tried to control her excitement; she was very good at concealing her feelings. She took a sip of her drink. "And?" she said. "I want to take you out on a date." Nathan decided not to waste any time, but Maya slightly chuckled and said, "I don't do dates, don." Nathan was startled, so he asked, "Is it because I'm don?" "I killed a man in front of your eyes; clearly, I don't scare easy; I just don't do anything serious." She was biting her tongue, wanting to say yes to the date, but she was already feeling vulnerable around him and didn't like the feeling. Nathan was a patient man; he simply studied her and said, "Call me Nate." "I'm going to dance," said Maya, but before she could leave, Nathan grabbed her wrist, turned her around to face him, and towered over her. She felt intoxicated by his scent. Nathan was also at a loss for words for a minute there, but he gulped and asked, "At least tell me your name." Maya knew she had to run away, or she wouldn't be able to control herself. "I'll see you later," she blurted out, and bolted to the dance floor.
As she distanced herself from him, she felt more confident; she knew he was looking at her, so she walked away, flaunting her beautiful body. She started dancing to the beat of the music while Nathan stood there and watched. She didn't face him; she simply used her body to make him want her more; she couldn't make sense of what she was doing. On the one hand, she wanted to distance herself from this man because she felt vulnerable around him, which is a feeling she can't control, and she loved being in control, but on the other hand, she wanted to just let everything go. It was almost intoxicating because they barely knew each other, but the attraction was undeniable.
Nathan was not one to dance with a woman, but he knew he couldn't miss this opportunity, so he slowly walked up to her and snaked his arms around her small waist and rested his palm on her stomach. He pulled her closer to him and followed her lead. She decided to turn around, and the moment she did, she could feel his warm breathing on her neck. His hand slowly lowered and cupped her. To his surprise, she arched her back and leaned more into him while letting out a little moan. But that very moment her phone buzzed, and she knew this was too good to last. "Until next time," she whispered in his ears and left, leaving Nathan on the dance floor.
He was sad that she didn't tell him her name, but he was worried because, for some reason, he had a bad feeling; he wasn't sure why. But he was usually right about these things.
