Chapter 5 If flirt was a crime

I groaned angrily as my phone's alarm rang loudly. I put up my hand in a fist to slam it but remembered it was my phone and I didn't have enough money to buy another one if I broke it now so I gently reached for it and stopped the alarm with a squinted eyes.

I slipped under my covers again and instantly fell asleep. A couple more minutes again, I was waking up to the sound of my alarm blaring in my ears.

I pushed off my bed covers and sat straight. Now it can ring all it wants, I shut switching that off.

My stomach rumbles hard. It was too late to order for food last night so I just went to bed. I should really get groceries today. I pushed the covers off my legs and walked over to my mini kitchen. That was when it hit me that the day was unusually too bright. I hurried back to my phone and checked the time. 8:29 a.m. my eyes googled hard. Fuck. I was supposed to be at the club by 8! Shoot I'm fucking late!.

I rushed into my kitchen and made the very last cereal in my cereal box and the very last drop of milk in my fridge. Then I ate as quickly as possible before dashing into the bathroom. I'm already late.

I was literally trying to fix my flats into my legs as I hurried out of the elevator. I rushed into my car and was glad it started when I wanted it to today. I guess it sensed the urgency?

As soon as I reached my work place, I barked on spot and half ran inside, brushing past someone who was making his way out.

"I'm so sorry!" I screamed, not giving him a glance before sprinting inside. I knew how Terry could be when I'm late. He'd go on and on about how he's doing us a huge favor by employing us. seriously, I wonder how he's even related to Drake. But I can understand anyway.

When I reached inside, I'm surprised to see the place almost empty, workers standing and sitting around talking. I stopped at the door. Terry is seated on a chair talking with two other workers. He lifts his head to see me and I quickly threw him a grin and waved a hand.

"Good morning Terry!" I said.

He just nods at me and looks back at his table. Wait, that's it? He's not gonna scold me? Didn't he realize it was past 9?

Shrugging it off, I walked to my post to find Jenna there, her already red lips getting more lipsticks. She has a mirror in her hands as she applied more color to her lips. Her dress is, as always, showing off half of her breasts.

As soon as she notices me approaching, she puts down her mirror and spreads out her arms.

"What the fuck Cayli? You had to be late today of all days?" She scolds.

"Ah, haha ....what's with today?" I asked, confused.

Janna drops her arms in sheer disappointment before replying "really? You have got to be kidding me. I told you our boss was coming over today! "

"Ugh, " I scoffed "sure, I actually remember now. But he's not here yet right?"

"He just walked out, Cayli!"

I wonder why she's getting so worked up about it. He's just our boss. Oh fuck. My eyes grow wide at the realization that I could possibly get fired for coming late.

"Mhm" Jenna's face settles as she noticed the panic look on my face.

"Oh my goodness, is that why Terry didn't say a word to me when I walked in even though I was late?! Did he ask to see all the employees? Am I getting fired?!"

"Calm down Cay, I doubt he's that kind of person. He didn't really say much. He barely spent five minutes here and left. I guess he just stopped by to check in. You needed to have seen Terry on his toes. It looked like he was gonna piss his pants. " She snorts a laugh.

I laughed a bit too.

"I didn't blame him. Mr. Ricardo Milos was as intimidating as fuck. "

Ricardo Milos...... I could literally picture his tall body and beautiful face right now. I'd probably be intimidated too.

"And he was so fucking hot, Cayli. God. "

"Okay Jenna, why don't you leave my spot so I can get to work"

Jenna rolls her eyes and said "don't you ever get tired? There's no customers yet. "

I walked over and pulled her out.

The following night, I was on my spot again when I heard the sound of a stool being pulled. As soon as I heard the stool get occupied, I put down my phone to see the customer. Today hasn't been that busy and I was glad I finally had time for myself.

There's a man seated right in front, his white inner shirt's arms folded up his forearms, one button open to reveal smooth coily chest hair. His hair is ruffled, like he'd been drinking.

"Hi" he says with a slight nod of his head, a small smile at the end of his lips. His eyes are deeply set into his face, and almost sloe. It almost felt like I knew those set of eyes.

"Hi!" I replied "What can I get for you sir?"

"Just gimme anything" he said. Nodding, I turned around I searched for a good wine.

"This is slightly expensive, it just got in last week. If you want...."

"I'll pay for the whole bottle. Thank you."

Nodding gently, I replied an okay and opened it. I gave him a glass and he takes it, gulps it down in one go.

"Mmmm, you do have a great taste." He compliments "I like it"

"I've never really taken it before. I'm not an alcohol person" I replied. I wished I hadn't said that much because he suddenly has his brow cocked at me questioningly.

"I mean not that I don't drink." I chuckled sheepishly. There was something about how he watched me that was a bit discomforting and intimidating?

"I've never seen the type of your eyes before" he says.

I watched him, wondering why the hell this strange man found me particularly interesting to flirt with.

I didn't know that this was my boss, Ricardo Milos. And I would wish I hadn't met him that way. Because from that day, he had imprinted himself on my mind.
