Chapter 8 Episode eight

"There isn't much going on with me and my parents are doing great." Caroline said in between clenched teeth as she tried to maintain her smile.

Annah smiled softly and ordered a cup of iced Americano..

"I'm gonna come see mom and dad soon." Annah told her friend who seemed lost in thoughts..

"So tell me what are your plans now that you've found yourself a billionaire. Are you still gonna work as a secretary at that company?" Caroline playfully asked but Raphael could understand the meaning behind her words..

What kinda stunt is she trying to pull?

"He doesn't have anything to do with me working. You worked so hard to find me that job so don't worry I'll definitely work there. " Annah assured her but Caroline still felt she was trying to show off..

Caroline glanced at her watch and acted like she had an appointment.

"Oh my goodness! I'm sorry but I have to go right now."she stood up abruptly and picked up her handbag..

"I have an important appointment and I'm a few minutes late. Let's talk some other time dear, bye ." Caroline apologized and left immediately leaving Annah hanging..

She wondered why her friend was acting strange all of a sudden?

Did she do something wrong?

Anna was still drinking her coffee and was thinking of a way to cut the two men guarding her off.

The people at the cafe were all giving her weird gazes and she hated attention..

She suddenly stood up when an idea clicked.

"I need to use the restroom." She informed them and began walking towards the restroom..

Raphael wanted to follow her but got stopped by Ian.

"What do you think you're doing, Gamma supreme Raphael?" He asked with a confused expression.

"Going after her. Our job is to protect her, remember?" Raphael frowned slightly as he watched the lady disappear into the restroom..

"You wanna go with Luna to the bathroom? Alpha supreme Nicklaus would have a neck if you go closer to his mate." Ian reminded him who their boss was and he finally heaved a sigh and decided to wait somewhere close to the restroom for their Luna..

They waited but she was yet to come out. It was ten minutes already and she was nowhere to be seen.

Raphael was already having a bad feeling about the whole thing..

"She's taking too long." Raphael voiced his concern and Ian also noticed she was taking too much time in the restroom..

"Should we go and check? " Ian offered and they both went over to the restroom and Raphael knocked softly but got no response.

"Miss Alannah?" He called out to her but got no response and without warning he kicked the door open and checked all the restrooms but there was no sign of her.

"F*ck!" He cursed out in frustration..

Annah on the other hand went to the restroom and sneaked outta the cafe through the back door when they weren't paying attention and ran off..

She was sick and tired of having people watching her every move.

She didn't know where she was going, all she wanted was to get away from them as fast as possible..

She ran through a dark alley and got lost in the neighborhood..

The apartments at the neighborhood were all so close to each other, she was having a hard time finding her way outta the place and finally got to another alley but this alley felt Eerie.

She shivered slightly as she walked pretty fast but got cut off by someone..

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" She heard a masculine voice behind her and she felt goosebumps all over her skin..

Her hands were shaking in fear even though she was trying to act tough..

"I'm sorry, I lost my way. I'll leave now." She shuttered and tried to walk away but another one blocked her part..

"Who asked you to leave?" He spoke with a guttural voice and she didn't dare raise her head to stare at him because she wasn't putting on glasses and didn't wanna see something terrifying..

"I.... I'm sorry..." Now she was starting to regret running away from those guards..

"Look at her skin, she's so pretty and flair." A female spoke somewhere around her but she was determined not to make eye contact..

"I think she's one of those rich brat." Another one spoke.

"She seems pure, I wanna taste her first." They kept saying all sorts of disgusting things and she was freaking out already..

She couldn't run because she knew they could catch her effortlessly..

"Please let me go." She whimpered and this earned a round of laughter from them..

Raphael and Ian were having a hard time tracking her because the cafe was packed with hundreds of scents..

"We have to find her now!" Raphael grunted and began retracting his steps and went back to the bathroom and tried to pick up her scent from the restroom down to the back door but the trail got cold and they hit a dead end again.

They're dead meat if they don't find Luna..

Ian who went the other way came running back because the trail went cold again..

Raphael looked at him in Hopes that he found something but got pissed when he returned with nothing and punched the wall next to him angrily..

"Damnit!" He growled and ran his fingers through his hair..

"We've to let the boss know right now before something happens." Ian suggested. He was equally frustrated because Luna always proved to be difficult..

Raphael tried to mind-link communication with the boss but couldn't get through to him and finally decided to give him a call.

He took out his phone and dialed the boss's number.

Nicklaus on the other hand was having important meetings with other Alphas from the territories under him..

He'd turned off his mind link because it was an important meeting..

"Did you find the shape shifters going around recently?" Nicklaus asked with a cold expression and they began to murmur because they couldn't find the Shape shifters or who released them...

"I think we need to visit Ragnar roll, the black market is the best place to find what you're looking for." Alpha suggested but Nicklaus just kept a straight face like he was in deep thoughts.

"Your money is no good in the black market but diamonds are gargoyle's best friend." Nicklaus finally spoke and they all agreed with him.

Nicklaus could feel it.. he knew something was coming and someone has been freeing shapeshifters from the forbidden but he still hasn't found the one responsible for this..

If shape shifters are being released it only means Darth Vader is trying to leave the underworld..

"We have to come to a solution soon, else the human world and the supernatural world is gonna be put in danger.." Alpha Xavier added. He was equally concerned because he knows what this meant for them..

"I want this problem solved." Was the only thing Nicklaus said when his phone began ringing.

At first he wanted to ignore the caller but when he glanced at the screen and realized it was Raphael, he suddenly felt uneasy and stood immediately and walked outta the board room ignoring the Alphas who were equally surprised..

What just happened?

Nicklaus picked up the call the moment he was outta the board..

"What happened?" He asked with a hoarse voice sending shivers down his Subordinate's spine..

Nicklaus growled angrily when he heard what the other side had to say..

Without waiting for him to finish he hung up on him and rushed to the elevator..

Elias went after his boss immediately..

Nicklaus was beyond pissed..

The elevator opened at the underground parking lot where Shea was waiting...

Nicklaus got into the backseat while Elias got into the front seat immediately..

"Drive!!" He growled angrily and Shea stepped on the acceleration..

Elias and Shea tried to communicate with Raphael through the mind link and they got to know that Luna was missing..

Elias could feel the temperature in the car drop every second..

Alpha supreme Nicklaus was more than angry and he dared not say a word to invoke his wrath.

Shea drove as fast as he could towards the cafe..

"Stop the car!" Nicklaus said with a guttural voice and Shea quickly stopped the car but they weren't close to the cafe yet..

Nicklaus got outta the car and Elias went after him the moment he caught sight of his eyes which were now black..

Nicklaus walked towards a neighborhood which was the home of notorious thugs and Elias began to wonder if Luna was there.

"Where are we going, Alpha supreme?" Elias asked..

"She's here, I can feel her." Nicklaus's voice was deeper and hoarse which only meant his wolf was livid and was about to surface any time soon..

They walked through dark alleys and finally found her in a terrible situation.
