Chapter 5 To the girls who overcame heartbreak and found strength within

Ryan

"Yes, like you'd know what it means to have a boy crushing on you." Dela rolled her eyes and pouted her lips at her twin brother Ray.

"I'm not gay, the guys wish they can be me." Ray folded his arms and fired back.

I sat at the end of the dinning table watching my two children arguing about who was more cool in school.

But of course, they were twins, what else did twins do aside fight?

"No fighting at the dinning table!" I gave both of them a soft glare and they relaxed back on their seats.

They were now 5, how long has it been since I escaped Aiden's hold?

5 years ago, my wolf had given up on trying to claim him and I haven't heard from her ever since.

I went to New York to start a new life, for both my children and i, the werewolf world was too toxic and I didn't want them to suffer what I had suffered while growing there.

"It's time for school, the driver, Danny will drop you both at school." I informed standing up and glancing at my watch

"But I want you to drop us, mommy, you promised." Dela folded her brows and I took in a deep breath.

"I know I promised, Honey, but something really urgent came up at the company and I have to look into it." I tried to explain and although she acted like everything was fine, I knew she needed me.

I have been so caught up with work, being the c.e.o of a big fashion company wasn't an easy task.

Hours later, I was sitting in my office and going over some new cloth designs for my company when a knock came through, he came in.

Damien, the brother of my mate I rejected, the one who helped me escape Aiden.

"To what do I owe the pleasure?" I smiled at him broadly and dropped the iPad on my desk.

He rolled his eyes and returned the smile before sitting opposite me. "I wanted to check up on you, Ryan."

"Are you sure that's just it?" I laughed a bit, knowing fully well I was pushing his buttons.

"Oh well, you caught me!" He threw his hand up in the air in a surrender gesture. "I've missed you, Ryan."

I let out a low sigh. "We spoke about this already, Damien, I am honestly not ready for anything right now, I just want to focus on myself and my children ."

"Of course, Ofcourse, I understand." he smiled and scratched the back of his head slowly. "It's just the all the other alphas want you, they would literally worship the ground your feet touchs just so you can be with them."

"Dam..." I gave him a pitiful look and he nodded in understanding.

"But who can blame them tho? you're hot, Ryan, and very much successful."

I couldn't help but smile, he was right, apparently, they had an alpha headquarters here at New York where they made decisions with their leader being a Lycan and all the alphas there were interested in me, one way or the other.

I had no idea what was so special that would make them all want me, but who am I to refuse the attention right?

"There's a huge problem, Miss." my personal assistant screamed immediately she barged into the room

I rose an eyebrow at her and she gasped when she saw I had a visitor, she gave me apologetic eyes

"It's fine, Sally, what's the problem?"

"Everything was taken, our systems were hacked and all the fashion ideas we planned to release next month has been copied." She blurted out at once and I could feel my temperature boil

"Omg, who could have done such a thing?!" Damien gasped in shock

"You know what this means right?" I turned to my assistant and she gulped, hard.

"We are going to go bankrupt." She was already at the verge of breaking down.

Hours had passed, I paced around the office restlessly, I had no idea what to do, Damien and Sally had left already, Damien said he was going to try to find help from the other alphas and get back to me

My body jerked as my phone began ringing, it was Damien.

"Did you find anything?" I said hurriedly as I picked up

He let out a sigh. "None of the alphas have enough resources to help."

"Omg, what do I do now?" I fell back on the chair, my company has had no record of something like this in 4 years, why was it happening now?

"But there's one thing, the Golden Complex company said they have an offer for you but under one condition." He concluded and my eyes was wide open

"Why would the Golden Complex want to help? what could I possibly offer them?" I could feel the surprise in my own voice, the golden Complex is the biggest company in the world, they have branches all over, other companies go to learn from them.

"They didn't say why exactly they wanted to help but they did say that if you were up for it, there will be a meeting at the black Cafe shop tomorrow morning for the terms" he explained and I gave a low growl before ending the call.

I still couldn't trust GC, why would the biggest company in New York want to help a company as small as mine?

I guess only one way to find out.

It was 9:00 in the morning, my driver had dropped me in front of the cafe and some body guards walked down with me to the entrance, they positioned themselves at the main door, I guess the person I came to meet was here too because there were other guards outside.

I was walking towards the only seat at the cafe that was occupied, the entire place was empty, which was rare because on a normal day, you'd have to come way early to get a seat.

The man had his back turned to me but I could see him lift his cup to his lips.

Before I could go closer, my phone beeped, it was Damien, he sent a message.

«I was able to find out what the Golden Complex company wants, it's about a marriage »

I gulped hard as I read the message, but I straightened myself later, I needed to look bold when facing them.

I walked over to the empty seat in front of the man and sat there.

"Hello, I am Ryan, from Enco Fashion Company" I smiled and gave out a hand in his direction

He finally looked up at me and I could feel my heart stop beating

It felt like everything in me went to a pause.

"Hello, Ryan." he said with the most devilish smirk, the one I clearly remembered from 5 years ago

"Ai... Aiden." I couldn't recognize my own voice.

'Mate.' Sky, my wolf breathed out, like someone who had just woken up from the dead.
