Chapter 1 Fiery Clash of Wills

"What kind of a mother are you, Mom?!" Kiara retorted hitting the dining table "You don't have the right to talk to me like that you ungrateful child"! Mrs. Justine retorted also looking angry as well.

Both mother and daughter sat there staring at each other then Kiara suddenly stood up picking her handbag and left her mom at the dining table and drove out of the house angry at her Mom.

She doesn't understand why her mom keeps pressuring her to get married just because she wants their so-called family business to keep reigning.

She's already working there as the CEO so what else does her mom want from her again?.

The more she thinks about it, the more she gets angry with herself and also regrets being born into a wealthy family.

The only thing her family thinks of is how the family businesses and other companies keep growing and also being put at a higher standard apart from that, putting one's feelings and what he or she wants is no man's business.

Kiara increased her speed and kept driving not knowing where she was heading to.

She finally stopped at a pub and parked her car at the garage before entering the pub to have a glass of drink and also put those annoying thoughts aside for a while.

She sat down quietly with her eyes closed with her mind somewhere else..... "Miss, what can I offer you?" A voice said gently to her.

Kiara opened her eyes slowly and looks in the direction the voice came from.

One of the attendants stood by her beaming with smiles with a tray in his hand.

He was surprised to see such a good-looking lady in their pub and from the look of things, the lady sitting in Infront of him looked like someone from a well-to-do family because her appearance could tell it all.

"What can I offer you please"? He asked again and smiled at Kiara but Kiara sat there looking at the attendant who stood there waiting patiently to take her order...

"Get me a bottle of red wine" Kiara finally said after keeping the attendant waiting. "Okay," he said and left Kiara's table to get the red wine she ordered for.

Kiara sat there staring at the man who just turned his back to her... "Since when did I start behaving like this Kiara?!" She asked herself and shook her head severally and took her eyes off him.

The man came back within a few minutes holding the red wine along with a glass on the tray he held earlier...

he placed the wine and the glass down and asked "you mind if I pour it out for you?" and Kiara nodded with her eyes fixed on him. "Am done.. please if you need anything else please call.

I will attend to you" he said and smiled at Kiara again and left... "What on earth!... Who is he?" She whispered to herself and took the glass of wine and sip a little.

She realized how good it taste so she quickly poured it all into her mouth and poured out another glass again then did the same as she did to the first one.

She finished the bottle of wine within a few minutes and then ordered another one again.

Not knowing, the bar attendant stood afar and watched Kiara finishing all the bottles of wine she/he sent to her.

He wondered what was going on with her and which made her drink that much.

"Why am I thinking about a total stranger who just walked in today? Besides whatever that is bothering her, am sure she will sort it out" ...

he whispered to himself and kept doing what he was doing earlier..... It was already past eight late in the evening and Kiara was still at the pub looking drunk and helpless also.

Everyone has left the pub and just a few people were left still drinking.

The attendant was done for the day and ready to walk out from the pub then saw the lady he attended to earlier was still around looking drunk.

At first, he didn't want to approach her and ask her to leave since the pub will be closed soon but looking at the state in which she is, he wondered if the lady will be able to go home by herself.

"Miss, the pub will be closed soon why don't you go home and return tomorrow? he asked but Kiara didn't mind him then tried getting up but couldn't.

She tried getting up again and was about to fall then the guy held her tightly "careful" he warned then Kiara started laughing suddenly...

"Do you know who I am before you hold me that way?" Kiara asked him then pulled herself away from him "I can walk?"

She said again and started walking towards the door while he followed her from behind...

Kiara managed to get to her car and brought out her car keys and opened the door and sat down while starting the engine of the car but he quickly took the car keys from her getting Kiara pissed off.

"What the hell are you doing?.. give me my car keys!" Kiara demanded "it's not safe to drink and drive lady and looking at how drunk you are, you can't drive," he said to her.

Kiara became stunned by what he said but that didn't change her mind rather got more pissed off "who the hell are you to tell me what to do?..give me my keys now!" She demanded again getting out of the car...

"Don't mess around with me here...if you don't want to get into my list of hates, just handle back the car keys to me!" Kiara retorted again but he stood there looking at Kiara who was getting angry...
