Chapter 3 Good news

"W what's that? what does that mean." Camille stuttered.

The doctor sighed, she stared at Jason with so much pity in her eyes.

"Come with me to my office please, we'll talk more there." She said, then she left.

"Please stay with Jason." Camille said to Cherry."Of course, you don't have to worry about anything, just go and hear what the doctor has to say, I'll be here with him."

"Thank you Cherry." Camille replied, she wiped off her tears, took one last look at her brother, then she left.

Doctor's office....

Camille sat opposite the doctor, her legs couldn't stop shaking due to fear and nervousness."What's your name?." The doctor asked.

"Camille."

"Okay Camille, I'm doctor May, and I'll be the one in charge of your brother's case." Doctor May said. Camille nodded.

"Like i said before, the patient is being diagnosed with a congenital heart disease, and it's very severe."

"W what does that mean doctor." Camille said fearfully.Doctor May sighed.

"It means, he has a hole in his heart." She said. Camille gasp.

"N no, that's not possible, that can't be possible." Camille cried.

"You'll have to pull yourself together Camille, this is not the time to be weak, the patient needs to undergo surgery, and we need to carry out the surgery urgently, otherwise, I'm afraid we'll loose him."

"No." Camille yelled.

"Please doctor, nothing should happen to Jason, he's the only one I've got, please save my brother doctor, please, I'm begging you." Camille cried bitterly.

"H how much will his surgery cost?."

Doctor May looked at her for sometime, judging from the look of things, she didn't think Camille can afford it, but there's nothing she can do, they'll need to make a deposit so they can't start with his treatments.

"His surgery will cost 1•5 million dollars."

Camille felt like a whole bucket of ice was being poured on her when she heard the amount, where will she get that kind of money from, it's already so difficult to feed and now this, how will she get that kind of money, but at the same time, she can't let her little brother die, he's all she's got, and she'll do anything to save her brother's life.

Camille walked into Jason's ward, her face was so pale, her eyes were red and swollen due to so much crying.Cherry immediately rushed to her side when she saw her."What's wrong Camille? why do you look like this? what did the doctor say?." Cherry questioned.

"Cherry." Camille managed to say, then she hugged Cherry tightly before bursting into another round of tears.

"W what's wrong? what the doctor say? please Camille, stop crying or I'll cry too, we need to be strong for Jason, we wouldn't want him to wake up and see you like this, please honey, pull yourself together." Cherry said softly, at the same time, patting Camille's back in a comforting manner.

"What do I do Cherry?." Camille said, then she pulled out of the hug.

"The doctor said Jason has a a hole in his heart and he needs urgent surgery, the money for his surgery is 1•5 million, what do I do Cherry?, I can't let anything bad happen to Jason, Jason can't die Cherry?." Camille cried.

"Oh God." Cherry gasp."It's okay, it's okay, we'll find a way out of this, nothing bad will happen to him, nothing bad will happen to Jason." Cherry comforted.

"I don't even have a job or any savings, I've got nothing, so how will the miracle happen, how will I save my brother's life." Camille cried.

"Come here." Cherry said, then she pulled Camille into a hug.

"Please lord, help us, Jason can't die, we just can't loose Jason too." Cherry prayed silently.

"I'll be back soon okay, I'll go home and prepare something for you guys, please Camille, enough crying, we'll get through this together, okay." Cherry said."Thank you Cherry, I appreciate everything you've been doing for us." Camille said.

"It's nothing babe, you're more than a friend to me, you're like my own sister, so no need to say thanks, i take Jason as my little brother too." Cherry smiled.

"I'll be back soon okay." She said. Camille nodded.

Cherry went to give a sleeping Jason a kiss on his forehead, then she left.

Camille sighed, before going to sit beside Jason.

"Nothing will happen to you Jason, I promise to find a way." She said, she took her hand in his, then she kissed it.

Few hours later....

Cherry rushed into Jason's ward breathing heavily, she held a food flask in one hand and a flier in another."Jeez, what's wrong with you Cherry?." Camille said, getting up to meet her.

"G good news, i i've got good news." Cherry said, trying to catch her breath at the same time."Aunt Cherry." Jason called weakly, and that was when Cherry noticed he was awake.

"Oh my God, Jason." Cherry smiled, she dropped the food flask on the floor and rushed to Jason's side."Goodness." Camille rolled her eyes, she went to pick up the flask, then she dropped it on the little table beside Jason's bed."How are feeling honey? are you in any kind of pain?." Cherry questioned worriedly. Jason smiled.

"No aunt Cherry, I'm fine, a nice nurse gave me some injections, I'm not in any pain." Jason said softly. Cherry laughed."That's better, you be a good boy and get well soon okay, i and Camille will make sure to take good care of you." Cherry said. Jason nodded with a smile.

"What's the good news Cherry?." Camille asked, and Cherry fixed her gaze on her."Here." Cherry said, giving the flier in her hand to Camille.

Camille collected the flier from her, then she read it, her eyes widen when she saw what was written there."It's an advert for the post of secretary." She gasp. Cherry smiled."Yes girl, on my way home, i saw a man pasting this on the wall, and i immediately collected one from him, in fact, he told me the secretary is urgently needed."

"Wow."

"And that's not all babe, guess the person who needs a secretary."

"Who?.""West Sylvester, CEO of WS industrial corporation."
