Chapter 4 four

Immediately the dark lord left the room, they all sighed. It was a tough one for them. To say they are afraid of him is an understatement. At the mention of his name, all head bows; all heart miss a meet; all legs struggle to balance. He was fear himself. He was darkness himself.

"Let all gather round the table and discuss who should be the warrior guiding us, the elite werewolves" Alpha Osiris ordered.

They all headed to the dinning table that was set on the right hand side of the room. It was a heart shaped design and a blue table cloth was laid on it. They have most of their Alpha's meeting in the main castle but today they had some guests. The commander of warriors and the pack's doctor. They were not part of the Alpha team and were regarded as strangers among the Alphas.

They took a seat one after the other, with each of them paying attention to the person sitting before him or her. Alpha Osiris sat first, followed by Kai and Alpha Levi. After they all took a seat, the pack's doctor and the commander of warriors sat down.

"Did anyone truly revealed the secrets to the rogues?" Alpha Osiris asked calmly as he changed the topic. He wants to know who was behind it all. Though he was annoyed the Dark lord accused him first, still he had to treat the matter with patience.

"I don't really think anyone would have sold us out" Alpha Elijah countered. He was the youngest Alpha and also the last fallen Alpha before the current Alpha's guiding the pack.

"You're still very young" Alpha Kai chirped in and chuckled. It amazes those that are not Alphas that he could still find anything funny.

"When I was an Alpha, my Beta brought in rogues. No one knew about it till they launch an attack" he ended. The memory replayed in his ear like it was yesterday.

Truly, he was the only Alpha in history to have a betrayal as a Beta. Betas are the most trusted companion and the right side of the Alpha. The kingdom nearly crumbled at this attack because the Beta knows so much about him and the kingdom, as well as the possible moves he would make which made it harder to win against them. After losing lot of lives, he decided not to do things his way and think differently. He confused the Beta and rogues and they ended up winning.

No one was surprised. They all read the history of Alphas before them.

"It would be bad to suspect any of us" Alpha Arthur added. He was the fifth fallen Alpha.

"And would be bad to leave possible stones unturned" Alpha Damien said in reply. He was the seventh fallen Alpha.

"Fine, how do we get this betrayal?" Darren asked, banging his fists on the table. He is Scarlet's father and also the commander of the warriors.

Everybody looked at him suspiciously. No one dare talk at Alphas without bowing their hands, talk more of hitting their fists on the table in disrespect.

Realising his mistake, he muttered "I'm sorry" and bowed respectfully.

"We would discuss about the betrayal in private" Alpha Osiris announced, not taking his gaze off Darren. Everyone got the message.

"Who do you think is worthy to the Warrior?" He asked no body in particular. Picking a warrior out of the seven clans has always been difficult. They need to pick two warriors from each pack, then start checking their data and past achievements. Along the line, they would evict the names down to only one.

"Here is a list of the two warriors picked from each pack" Elijah stood up and handed all of them a sheet of paper to access. The youngest Alpha has to be the own to take his time and check the bravest of each clan.

Darren's heart skipped a beat when he saw his daughter's name on the list. He wasn't sure if he should be happy or sad. He would love his daughter to mingle with the male population but definitely not the fallen Alphas, nor as a warrior guiding them. Elijah's voice brought him back to life.

"From the Scorpion Zeal Clan, we have Derek and Tacha" he called out as everyone listened with keen interest. After all, they all want to know who the lucky warrior would be.

"They both have histories for losing at wars. Derek has lost five times and Tacha lost thrice, still they are the best in their clan" he continued.

"Seems like a weak pack to me" Osiris said and everyone giggled. A light humor won't hurt.

"From the blade and blood pack, we have Shene and Idoma. They both have histories for losing at wars. Idoma has lost three times and Shene lost twice, still they are the best in their pack. Which brings us to erasing Idoma, Tacha and Derek from our list. We are left with Shene who has proven to be the best of them".

" From the Love and Light Pack, we have Theresa and Sharron. Theresa has no history in losing in war but she a huge anger issues that made her slash a fellow warriors arm.."

He hasn't ended the speech when he was interrupted by Kai. "Skip, let's move on to the next. We can't risk our safety".

" Sharon has a history for losing in war twice"

"A tie? Great, that's what I love seeing" Osiris chirped in.

"From Flame and Flesh pack, we have Sean and Eliza. Three history of losing in a war each".

"From Swords and Saints, we have Miriam and Dora. Never won any war. Still the best in their Pack" he chuckled as he said it.

"From Moon and Goddess Pack, we have Peter and Patricia. Identical twins and also the best in their Pack but seven lost so far"

"And this bring us to last pack, Blood Moon. We have Scarlet and Shirley. Scarlet never lost and Shirley lost once"

"Drum rolls" Alpha Karren nearly yelled. It was easier than they expected. In fact, it was the easiest the the last couple of years. Finding someone with no lost history, seemed like the hardest.

"Easier than expected" Osiris said, "So how do we get in touch with her?"

Elijah cleared his throat, "Nature as made everything easy for us. Her father is here"

All gazed turned to Darren. He was a stranger among them and the Pack Doctor is male so it's no other person than him.

His heart skipped a beat as his mind drifted to what happened earlier. How does he breaks the news to her? Yet he Can't refuse...
