Chapter 10 Stuck with him

What would my life have been like if I hadn't met Sidd? Wouldn't I have been happy? I always thought to myself. Hateful days in college, bizarre days in the office. All because I happened to know Sidd.

"You look pale, what happened to you?" my mom asked me in the morning as I prepared to go to work.

"Nothing, Mother, I'm fine," I replied. "I will see you when I get back." I left.

The truth was that I cried last night. I imagined my life without Sidd and it was awesome. I got no other problem but Sidd. How can he be so cruel? He behaves crazy around only me. I have never seen him hurt the emotions of any other girl, but me. I tried recalling how it all started.

I was a month old in college, and Sidd was the highly praised folk. His status matters less to me. I never cared about how girls swoon at the sight of him. I was rushing to class and got piles of books in my hand. I bumped into Sidd. I apologized, being too full of himself, he ordered me to tie his shoelaces as a sign of genuine apology. Me? If he was crazy, then madness defines me. I picked up my books, cast a stern glare at him, pushed him aside then walked away. Other students murmured. Simple. That was how it all started. In place of building a college mate relationship, we laid the foundation for hatred, built walls around it, plastered it, painted it with different colors and tones, and we are now decorating the rooms. I guess we will build skyscrapers soon.

I finally reached the office. My system was fixed, and I didn't have to get suffocated in his office anymore. I faced my work diligently for the working hours.

Time for closing neared. I started arranging for my desk to close for the day. Sidd walked into my office with bundles of folders. I just hope he hasn't come to delay my closing today.

"You should learn to knock," I told him.

He chuckled. "Am I entering your room?" he retorted dropping the files on my desk. "Have you checked your email? The CEO wants us to work on this."

"Everything?"

"More in the system. We got to correct all the data in these files. We will use your computer because we got to work together and my office seems too uncomfortable for you," he said taking a seat.

"Gosh!" I let out dropping back on my chair.

"Should I tell the CEO you are not interested?"

"I know you can do more than that," I declared and he smiled. "Anyone that must work in my office must follow certain rules. Rule number 1: Behave yourself. Rule number 2: No sending out. Rule number 3: Don't make me go crazy. Rule number 4: I do as I please in my office and you shouldn't complain."

"Waste of time. Sidd doesn't follow rules because I don't recognize them. The things I do depends on how I feel at the moment. Besides, you should pray I remain in a good mood throughout. If something goes wrong, remember we are working alone in a spacious office."

I sighed heavily. "Can we start?"

"I will read out the details to you and you would search your computer, after which I will join you in correcting any errors detected. Clear?"

"Clear!" I affirmed.

We continued working that way. We got coffee drinks to keep us going. Just halfway done. 10:30 PM. I hope he rides me home, or else I will sleep in the office.

We were on another file, he came behind me to see through as I was typing and detecting errors. He leaned down on me all in the name of not seeing the screen. His hand came on mine on the mousepad. I pulled out my hand. He allowed me to type, control the mousepad and correct an error. He placed his palm on my hand once again. I tried to pull out my hand, but he held on tight. I glanced at him, he winked at me. My heart jumped. He trailed his fingers up to my arm. Now my heart wants to burst.

"What are you doing?" I questioned taunted.

He further trailed his hand up to my shoulder and massaged it. Now both his hands were on my shoulders massaging them gently and making me want to sleep.

"You look stressed, yet you can't sleep now. Tomorrow is the weekend. You can rest all you want," he said to me.

Was Sidd trying to play nice with me, or something else was coming? Besides, why am I allowing him to touch me? I flinched from him. "I'm fine now."

"Are you sure?" he asked trailing his fingers from my cheek down to my jaw and further down to the nape of my neck.

"Sidd," I mumbled.

He leaned down to the crook of my neck. "I want you, Rani," he said almost pecking me and I jerked up.

"Sidd, rule number 1, behave yourself," I reminded while moving back from him. He was crossing the distance between us. I found myself stuck against the wall while he stood a breath away. "Sidd, what has come over you? Stop coming close to me," I held out a pen towards him. Can I defend myself from him with a pen? My heart banged loudly against my chest. Beads of sweat formed on my forehead. I was scared. He caged me between his arms. I couldn't stare into his eyes. "Sidd, I will stab you, I promise," I gasped out.

"Come on, don't be scared, it's just the two of us here. I will be gentle with you, promise," he said. A tear dropped from my eye. Sidd was going to take advantage of me. I can't even stab him. The pen remained clung in my hand, I couldn't make use of it.

"Sidd, I'm warning you, don't touch me," I begged helplessly. Will he do it?
