Chapter 3 Locked Out

Ashley stared at Matilda, Nathalia, and then her uncle, who seemed to be enjoying the entire show. She suddenly realized that Matilda and Nathalia must have known all about what happened and had deliberately planned all of this to harm her. She knew they were evil at heart and could go to any extent to harm her.

She sneered bitterly in her heart, but she didn't show her emotions.

With her grandfather's passing, she knew she had lost all the support that she had, it had only been a few moments since he passed away,

and they had already begun to make life so miserable for her.

How could she admit her mistakes when she hadn't done anything wrong? That too, with such a disgraceful thing in question!

Nathalia's hypocritical appearance made Ashley feel disgusted, and she Immediately pushed her hand away.

Ashley did not even use force, but Nathalia took a few steps back as if she was pushed back fiercely.

"Ashley Summers!" An enraged shout sounded throughout the hall. Nathan rushed in from outside the door and caught Nathalia in time. Nathan was Ashley's boyfriend. They had been dating for quite some time now. But secretly, Nathalia had the hots for him. She wanted him more than anything and this was the best chance that she had.

He held her tightly in his arms as if he was afraid that she would get hurt.

His dark eyes emitted a harsh coldness as he looked at her with disappointment. "You disappoint me too much"

Seeing him, Ashley panicked and was about to hurriedly get up from the ground, trying to explain, "Nathan, it's really not what you think. Let me explain. Wait!"

Nathan immediately looked away in disgust and ignored her. He looked down and asked Nathalia with concern, "Are you okay?"

Nathalia laid in Nathan's arms, pretending to break down. She teared up and looked sad and pitiful, "I did not do anything to let Ashley down, how could she blame me like this, Was it because I didn't do well enough?, if she don't want to see me, I'll leave!" Nathalia was pretending to be innocent, taking full advantage of the situation. She knew that this was the right time to make Nathan develop feelings for her. This was the exact image she wanted Nathan to have of Ashley. How could she let go of this chance?

After saying that, Nathalia broke free from Nathan's arms and ran out, sobbing heavily.

"Nathan It's not like that at all. Don't listen to her nonsense!" Ashley shouted. She grabbed Nathan's pants, begging him not to leave.

"Let go!" His cold eyes became fierce as he spat in disgust. He kicked Ashley away and walked out of the house, chasing Nathalia.

A Self mocking sneer appeared on Ashley's pale face. She stared at Nathan and felt that the whole world was laughing at her.

Besides her grandfather, the only person she had left was Nathan. Now that her grandfather was gone, was Nathan going to leave her too? There was so much that Ashley had going on in her head at that moment. She didn't know what to feel or how to react. It was as if her whole world had Just come crashing down in no time. What did she do to deserve this?.

"No way! That couldn't happen. She had to explain it to him clearly, She couldn't lose him just like that!" she thought.

Ashley quickly crawled up from the ground to chase after Nathan.

Matilda saw that and fiercely grabbed her hair, not allowing her to move a step Forward, "Sit here and think about what you've done. Such a disgrace! Where are you trying to run? Your parents passed away early, and now, your grandfather is no more too! We are your parents now, and so, you need to listen to us."

Saying that she raised her hand viciously and wanted to slap her again.

"You? My parents? Never!! This time, Ashley did not obediently let her hit her anymore. Her eyes were fierce and cold as she struggled with all her might and shook off Matilda's hand. She couldn't care less about Matilda cursing her behind her back and ran out barefooted.

She wanted to prove to Nathan that she was innocent. She wanted to tell him about what had really happened. She did not want to lose him at any cost.

But on the other hand, she also knew that she wasn't a virgin anymore and no longer had any hopes of marrying Nathan.

Nathan always wanted to marry someone who was a virgin. She didn't have the heart to do that to him either. It was just that he was the last bit of warmth she had in this world.

Even though they were meant to break up, she absolutely could not let him misunderstand her.

"Nathan, you have to believe me. I really did not harm Ashley. Her parents passed away very early, and I have always considered her my biological stater. How could I harm her?"

Ashley heard Nathalia's voice nearby and Instantly felt disgusted. She stopped walking and searched for the source of the pretentious voice.

Behind a tree, she saw Nathan holding Nathalia tightly in his arms.

He felt so sorry for her as he squeezed the words out between his gritted teeth, "You are right! I was wrong about her. She only looks Innocent. Who would have thought that she would be so vicious..... not to mention she even tried to show you as a bad person!"

"Nathan, please don't say that. I'm so scared right now! I'm afraid Ashley will blame me again if she hears this!"

"Don't be afraid. You're just too kind and gentle. That's why she's been bullying you all along" Nathan comforted her. He was the type of person who always treated people coldly and didn't like to laugh. But if he cared for someone, then he would become very gentle towards them.

Nathalia stayed in Nathan's arms for a while before opening her eyes, feeling the presence of someone nearby. When she saw Ashley standing in front of her, she was stunned at first. Then her lips quirked up into smirk, and she raised her eyebrows provocatively towards her. She opened her mouth to silently mumble the words, "Ashley, I'm going to snatch all that you have".

Ashley's face was pale, and she looked like she was on the verge of collapsing.

Seeing that, Nathalia's smiled and then tiptoed to kiss Nathan's mouth deliberately, "You are the best! Did you mean it when you said you love me? Do you still love Ashley?"

"Oh, come on! Don't you already know who I love now? In fact, I never loved her. I only love you and no one else!" After saying that, he passionately held her face and kissed her.

Raindrops fell on Ashley's eyelashes. Her feather-like long eyelashes trembled, and tears flowed down from her eyes. She only tasted bitterness as her heart broke.

The man who was now hugging another woman and kissing her in the rain had once said that he would protect her for the rest of his life and love her as long as he could breathe.

Now that she realized his true character, she did not bother to care for such a man anymore. Ashley wiped away her tears and turned around to walk home.

As soon as she arrived, she saw Matilda standing in the hall with a fierce face. A Suitcase was thrown toward her.

"You did something so immoral. No one in the Summers family has ever done something like this. Our family has a reputation to maintain. We absolutely cannot keep you! Leave Immediately! From now on, we have nothing to do with you!"

Ashley was shocked.

"What, no I am not leaving! I'm also a part of this family!" she shouted.

She was only in her third year of university and had not even graduated. How could she survive alone? What would she even do? Not just that, her grandfather was still at home, and she had not even bid him farewell.

"I'm not asking you. I'm ordering you to leave. NOW. Are you leaving yourself, or should I get someone to drag you out?" Matilda said, her expressions as fierce as ever.

"You can't chase me away! Gramps is still at home! I'm not leaving" said Ashley as tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Terry, get someone to throw this damn woman out"

Terry had no option but to abide by what she said. He did sympathize with Ashley, but there was nothing he could do. The last thing he wanted was to get kicked out of his job "Miss Ash, please leave for now," he said, with a rather solemn look on his face.

Ashley was forcefully pushed out of the house. She pulled Terry's arm and begged him to let her stay.

"I'm not leaving, I want to see Gramps one last time! Terry, take me to grandpa, please".

"Miss Ash Just listen me. We don't have any other option. You need to leave for now, and I will inform you if something happens. Now go!" he said, as he shook her hand away and shut the door close.

Ashley's tearful eyes were filled with unwillingness and could not even see her grandfather's face for one last time. If she had left now, she would never have had the chance to look at him again.
