Chapter 8 8

“What?” When Alyssa heard this, her legs almost went soft. She was almost panicked. “I can’t do this! I don’t know how!”

Although she hated this man with all her might, she certainly wasn’t going to let him die in front of her eyes. And she wasn’t stupid enough to die along with him.

Even though she was nothing more than an accident baby who was born through failure of conception, even though Jason and Aurora took her as a curse on themselves and never liked her, she didn’t give up the hope for living a better life.

And just because this man had a death wish, it didn’t mean that she also wanted it!

Emmett’s eyebrows raised, “Or would you prefer to be buried alongside with me?”

Although it was still an indifferent tone, but there was an unquestionable firmness in it.

It seemed that she had no option but to bite the bullet.

With a pale face, Alyssa went to get the things he asked for.

Besides the moment she married into the Lawrence family, her life had already collapsed to the point of beyond repair. What’s the worse that could happen more? She would die? That might be the best way of ending her miserable life right?

Her lips curved into a sad smile.

After collecting the things, she sat beside him and held the blade in her hand. Although she had tried her best to maintain calm, but she couldn’t keep her hands from shaking.

“I am going to take it off.” She said while using the blade to peel off the fresh edge of his wound while paying a close attention to the condition of “Justin.”

But she found that apart from his pale face and sweat beads on his forehead, he had no particular reaction, and even his brow only slightly frowned.

On the other hand, she, who was operating, kept shaking in fright.

But one thing she found unusual that, he was kept on staring at her the whole time.

She could fell that he was weak now, but there was still strength in his eyes.

Alyssa couldn’t help saying, “Don’t look at me.”

Emmett was actually not as calm as he behaved. The pain in his body was enough to make him want to scream. At this point, with the amount of blood he had lost, he could feel his vision blurring in process.

However, when he looked at Alyssa, the pain was miraculously relieved a little bit.

“You don’t need to be so nervous. I believe in you. You won’t let me die.” The voice of Emmett was light and soft but full of determination.

Alyssa had never been trusted and valued like this. She clenched her teeth and focused more on extracting bullets for him.

It felt like it had been a century.

When Alyssa finally took out the bullet, she was already sweating all over. “It’s done.”

After washing her hands in the basin next to her, she looked at Emmett and asked with concern. “How are you feeling?”

Before this, she always thought “Justin” was one of the troubles in her life. Although the position hadn’t changed yet, she could not help but admire him now.

Throughout the process, he had not called out in pain nor did he faint. In reality, he even comforted her in every step during the whole process. It was as if she was the one who was being operated. This kind of inhumane perseverance she had only seen in the movies.

She started to feel that this man had an unfathomable mystery, which was a bit frightening.

“Take a pen. I’ll make a list of medicine you need to buy.” Although Emmett was pale in his face, his words were very powerful and could not be objected.

Alyssa wrote down the list and went out to buy him the medicine.

She searched carefully through several pharmacies before buying all the medicine.

As soon as the door was opened, Emmett saw that Alyssa was carrying several plastic bags printed with different pharmacies. His lips were imperceptibly raised with satisfaction.

What a clever and considerate woman.

Although she hated him… or to be accurate, it was “Justin”, she hated with passion, she still managed to put aside her pride and help him.

She did a good job even without a doctor’s degree.

She probably thought that he was being hunted by his enemies, so she was very cautious in the whole thing. She went to several different stores to buy the medicine to avoid suspicion.

Emmett smirked. He truly underestimated this woman.

Alyssa took out the medicine, squatted down in front of him. “I will put on the medicine for you. If it hurts, let me know. I will go easy.”

Emmett didn’t say a word until she had finished putting the medicine on his wounds. And one more thing that this amiable that, he didn’t look like the one who had been shot.

Just as she was about to get up, the man suddenly reached out and grabbed her. He lowered his head, pressed her lips and kissed her passionately.

“I told you before not to wear you glasses.”
