Chapter 3 A Big Brother

After a long internal debate, Shahan decides to follow the young man who says he's her big brother and see what these people have to say. She tells herself that if she feels the slightest bit uncomfortable, she'll just turn around and go back. She owes no one anything. She's lived on her own for a long time, and she's not about to be turned upside down now.

- I'm going to get my things.

- I'll be waiting for you in the car.

Leaning against his car, Soren waits for his little sister with his assistant, who gives him the latest reports on the family business. The Williams family has a company of its own. In fact, it's one of the largest locally and internationally. From security guards to chief executives, it's hard to imagine anyone being shortchanged. The company is known not only for the quality of what it puts on the market, but also for the good wages that all of its employees enjoy. Even though the company is owned by the Williams family, there is no favoritism when it comes to hiring new employees. Even family members have to prove their competence in order to get hired. The more talent you have, the more successful you will be with Williams Enterprises. At the top of this monument is none other than the head of the clan, Solen's grandfather, Mr Williams Sr.

- Sir, the young lady is taking her time.

- It is nothing new that girls take time to prepare Sebastian.

BOOM

A loud noise is heard inside, followed by a shrill scream. Without wasting any time, the two men head in the direction of the scream to see what's going on. The scene that unfolds in front of them turns out to be quite astonishing. A young girl with a bloodied lip is lying on the ground, and Shahan is staring menacingly at her.

- Shahan, not only are you stealing my stuff, now you're beating me? Just wait until I call my father, and he will make sure that you don't belong anywhere in this city.

- After what you've done, a slap isn't enough. You should be happy that I'm being lenient.

- I didn't do anything to you, don't try to reverse this, we need to talk about you now, you thief.

- Did the razors and broken bottles perhaps get into my things all on their own?

- I have no idea what the hell you're talkin' about.

Puzzled at first, it didn't take long for the throng of onlookers to figure out what was going on. Even though few of them knew Shahan personally, they were all wearing indignant expressions on their faces.

- I can understand not liking someone, but to put that kind of thing in their clothes, is really vicious.

- I didn't think that Sara would be capable of doing that kind of thing.

- I didn't think that either.

- Keep your voice down, you all know what she's like, one word to her father and that's the end of it.

- Her father is nothing more than mayor. There are people higher than he is.

In spite of the fact that these people were trying to keep their voices as low as possible, their criticism still managed to reach Sara's ears. Annoyed, she didn't take the time to talk to the crowd. Instead, she turned all her anger on Shahan.

- That doesn't make me a thief just because you think I took it. I haven't touched anything of yours, so just leave me alone.

- I'm sure my bracelet is with you. Only you could have taken it.

- Have I taken it? Why would I do that? Your things are worthless to me.

- Why is that? Well, the only person who is poor enough to do such a thing is you, the orphan. You don't have anybody to buy what I have. That's why you're jealous of me.

- Wait, what? Would I be jealous of you? Why would you be jealous? If I want something, I buy it myself, I don't have to suck up to anyone to get what I want. Before I forget, the next time you think about putting razors in my clothes, they'll all end up in your throat. Do I make myself clear?

- Razors?

This voice came from the crowd. Soren, who at first didn't understand what had made his little sister so violent, slowly began to get the picture.

- She put razors in your clothes?

- Who the hell are you? It's none of your business, so stay here.

[Grand Aunt, don't you know who you're talking to? Young people are living dangerously these days], Sebastian thinks in shock as he stands next to Soren.

- I'm the big brother of the little orphan. Now I'll repeat my question. Did you hide razor blades in my little sister's clothing?

The initially noisy corridor becomes silent in an instant. Big brother? Shahan is known to everyone in the school as the only one who has to work to finance her studies. Most of the students at this boarding school come from wealthy families, so Shahan has always been the outcast. The black sheep.

- I'm ready Soren, let's leave.

- One backpack?

- I don't have much.

- Just say you're too poor to have more.

Sara, still with her butt on the ground, couldn't hold back her hurtful words to Shahan despite the lesson she'd just received.

- Sebastian, take care of her. Make sure we don't hear from her or her family again... A Robert who's aiming higher than she should be, I would have seen it all today.

- Right away, sir.

- Hey, what the hell are you doing? Get your hands away from me! Hey! Let go of me!
