The paparazzi were going wild with shouts and the crowd too, some were screaming the characters I acted and I heard mostly the one I played in the True Beauty movie. I smiled to show how happy I was, it was so sad I wasn't doing all this for love. But I was content with the fact that I could divorce after in a year.
Suddenly I stopped as reality came crashing before me. Was I really going to go ahead with this just for the company's sake? It is my life after all and any slight mistake on my path would get me wounded for life. My happiness is more than that of the company, what should I do? These thoughts raced through me and I stood fixed on the ground with my eyes going everywhere.
Dad gave a light cough to remind me about the auspicious time which was already passing and he gave me a smile of encouragement. I nodded slowly and let out a gasp. Maybe it's the right thing to do, it could be the only way to repay Mom and Dad for training me.
Finally we walked to the place Liam stood, he had his hands in his pockets and I couldn't help but look at him. He looked so mesmerizing in his cream colored suit and black tie with his hair left to fall down his face. I gulped and I knew he knew, but he showed no reaction. His face was unreadable and for the first time I wondered the kind of man I was getting married to.
Dad placed my hand in his and together we walked to where the priest was patiently waiting for us. He gave us a smile but I didn't smile at him and closed my ears internally so as not to listen to him. I wasn't interested in listening to what he had to say, after all this marriage held no meaning to both Liam and I.
I was desperate to leave the hall and go the safety of my room. I didn't care about the marriage but now that it was happening, I was so anxious. I had the creepy feeling in my tummy that I was engaging in something I wouldn't be leaving soon. The thought of it alone knotted my stomach.
Liam scowled loudly shooing me out my thoughts and I looked up to see everyone staring at him.
"Angel Hugh, do you take Liam Colloway to be your lawful wife husband, for better or for worse until death do you apart?" The priest said once again.
I hesitated, turned to Liam whose face was unreadable and sighed. "Ye-s, I do."
The priest turned to Liam who seemed to be trying his best not to scowl and asked, "Do you Liam Colloway, take Angel Hugh as your lawfully wedded wife for better or for worse, until death do you apart?"
He gave a curt nod. "Yes, I do."
The crowd cheered and Liam reached for my hand and quickly slipped the diamond ring on my finger as if he couldn't wait to get done with it. Not that I cared, thanks though that the feeling is mutual.
"You may kiss the bride." The priest announced and I stiffened. I looked up to see Liam's face tilting against mine. I momentarily closed my eyes as he leaned forward. In two seconds, he removed his mouth and I felt scarlet color rise from my neck up to my face. The crowd cheered once more as the priest pronounced us husband and wife.
I turned to face the crowd and saw as everyone was leaving the hall, most were taking pictures of us and another set of group came laughing towards us.
"Where's my chief?" I asked the first girl to come to me and she laughed at me, she looked good in her blood tight gown and I remembered her to be upcoming in her career as an actress. She had tried to make friends with me but I was quick to keep the relationship thing distant.
"I found her chatting her heart out with the best man, it seems to me that we are going to have another wedding soon with the way those two are already hitting off." Ariana joked, that's what I remembered her name to be. Then she turned to Liam and gave him a huge smile, and she extended her hand to him and mouthed hi to him. Liam purposely ignored her and and I could feel her embarrassment as if it was me.
"Congratulations Angel, you look truly like an angel." Sebastian, one of the male models I acted with sometimes chirped in. He was looking very handsome in his red tuxedo and I clasped my hand to his outstretched one.
"Thank you, Seb." I flashed my teeth, giving the vibe of 'im the happiest woman'. Just then I saw the media approaching us, and I quickly felt uneasiness wash over me. Not now please, I hissed. If I was standing waiting to hold my reward then I would have been pleased seeing them. There was definitely not a reason to be standing here taking series of pictures when it all meant nothing.
I felt someone grab my hand and I looked down to see it was Liam, his grip on my hand was hard and he started pulling me towards the exit door. "Please excuse me." I mouthed to the group, then obediently walked beside Liam.
Outside, Liam found a good spot devoid of the paparazzi and stopped. I tipped my head into a frown and rolled my eyes when he didn't say anything for two minutes.
"What?"
"I..." We both said at the same time, and I let a huff pass through my lips. I nodded, allowing him to say whatever he needed to say.
"This whole thing is a lie, I'm sure you are aware of it?" He said coldly, and my blood boiled in annoyance. Was that what he wanted to talk to me about, like seriously?
"The last time I checked I don't have amnesia, so I pretty know as a fact that we are acting a lie. Don't worry about it all, I'm a great actress that even you can testify of." He looked puzzled but remained calm, I had the feeling that he hasn't been spoken to in that manner before so I felt a little triumph over that.
"Good, now listen and listen good. We are s couple once we are outside but once we are in doors, we will become strangers. Living with you already looks like hell to me so I wouldn't like it if you add any more trouble to it. Once you are able to live by my rules we will be the best room mates ever." He gritted his head and I felt my head swooning in disgust. Just what the hell did I sign up for? Obviously the presence of this asshole is just enough to suffocate me."
Titling my head like the proud girl I was I said in his likes. "Rest assured mister that your fears would never happen. I have no interest to talk to someone as dull as you are and someone who is obviously nothing more than a dickhead."
His hands formed into fists and I felt happy about that. I was glad I was able to piss him off, such an asshole. "Good. It's good to hear from you that you have nothing of the such towards me. Now my rules you must abide is these. One: Never fall in love with me and, Two: Do not pokenose"
With that he turned around and left. I couldn't believe what I heard. I Angel not to fall in love with him! Just at what rate did he place himself? I hadn't been able to fall for any other man after Micheal cheated on me now this asshole thought he stood a chance.
Just the play.
