"Good evening, Cassie. I haven't seen you in a while. I hope everything is ok". An old lady who came to stroll with her dog said. She lived two blocks from Cassie's house and sometimes her grandchildren visited her home.
"I have been busy with work," Cassie said with a smile ruffling her dog's hair.
"Don't stress yourself too much. Will be free on Sunday? I would like you to meet someone." The old lady said and Cassie smiled harder.
"Yeah, I have tons of work to do before Monday. " She regretted her offer.
"Well, I will have Cherry send some cake to you." She said.
"Thank you, Grandma. I'm sorry I won't make it on Sunday". Cassie said feeling bad that she down her offer.
"No worries. But dear Cassie I want you to live a little. Come out of your she sweetheart." She said before waving her goodbye.
Live a little. Cassie pondered on the old lady's words as she strolled down the pathway.
But how was she to live a little after all the terrible things she had witnessed with her mom and sister's relationships?
Ugh!. Cassie cried as she crashed to the floor with someone she hadn't seen.
"Are you okay?." A manly voice said.
"I'm fine". Cassie said trying to get up.
"I'm sorry I wasn't looking..."
"I said I'm fine!". Cassie yelled unexpectedly. She was pissed.
" I guess you are not ". The man said again and Cassie looked up at him and gasped. He was the same man from the restaurant. But this time he was on a vast and short like he came out for an evening jog.
"Why are you here?, You pushed me on purpose, didn't you? You cause me trouble in the afternoon and now you are causing me pain. What did I do to you." Cassie blurted out as stared angrily at him.
"Excuse me, have we met before?". The man asked and Cassie went crazy. Now he was playing dumb.
"Are you joking we me or what?." Cassie said pulling him by his vast and facing him head on. In the afternoon she was frozen but now she felt like punching the hell out of this man.
"So you found here". Another voice said and Cassie looked behind to see a replica of the man she was holding.
Twins. Cassie thought as she released her grip.
"I didn't think we would meet her here. She was the one who told me I would regret what I did to Hannah."
The guy from the restaurant told his brother who was immensely looking at Cassie.
"I see." That was the only thing he said.
"I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself to you properly. I'm Cory Wilson and this is my elder brother, Mark Wilson." He introduced.
Elder brother, was the only thing Cassie grabbed. They weren't twins and now he mentioned it they had some differences. Cory looked young and cheerful while Mark looked older, taller, and cold.
"Please could you tell me your name". Cory said taking her hand in his but instead of answering him, Cassie pulled away and walked in a different direction. She hastened her steps to get away from them and thankfully, they weren't chasing after her.
Whoever they were, they both had some nerve walking around looking so eye-catching. Cassie couldn't believe she was thinking this but they were damn gorgeous. Especially the older brother, the way he looked at her made her tummy tickle. He looked like he was going to do terrible yet mind-blowing things to her.
He was just the perfect imagination of the men she had read from fiction. He was damn handsome and looked wicked at the same time. She needed to get home fast before she would make the mistake of throwing herself at him.
When she got home, she picked up her phone and she had twelve missed calls from Lilian. She didn't carry her phone with her because it was down.
Now she had strolled, she felt less angry with Lilian.
She dialed Lilian's number and without a second, she picked up.
"COCUO, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to act that way. I just felt it was a good idea since you decided to play along. Plus the guy looked frustrated and...".
" I understand lily, I'm sorry I took it out on you. I wasn't feeling too fine after what happened. Please could you come over tomorrow? I need your help with my dress up." Cassie said and she heard sniffled sounds from the phone.
"I love so much COCUO. I will come tomorrow as early as I can. You're the only one who cares so much about me." Lilian said and Cassie rolled her eyes. Lilian was a drama queen and she loved it when she went full mode.
Cassie ended the call and she felt relief sweep over her. But tomorrow was a day she had not expected the unexpected to happen.
