Chapter 6 It begins...

Xavier's eyelids twitched violently as he tried to jerk himself awake. It was happening again. If he didn't wake up soon, he wouldn't be able to control himself when his powers got unleashed. He knew he was having the dreams again and the outcome was never good. He wasn't in control of his body and he was sweating profusely.

A blinding white light suddenly shot out of his body in a terrifying wave. It shattered the windows and mirrors in his room and glass pieces flew around the room. The curtains were torn to pieces and a massive crack appeared in the walls. The white light kept glowing brighter and brighter, consuming everything in the room when Xavier suddenly jerked awake. His eyes were totally white and in the blink of an eye, the white light disappeared and his eyes returned to their normal silvery colour. It was morning already.

He took in the state of his room and sighed deeply. This always happened when he had the dreams. His inability to control his powers always resulted in disasters like this. He lost count of the numerous times his parents had refurnished his room after having an episode like this. This was why they wanted Serena to come live with them before she started having the dreams.

Serena was different. Although they were twins born of the same spell, they were totally different. Serena was special, and this was the reason why they had to give her up when she was born. To protect her from the shifters and the werewolves that were after her life. She was the one in the prophecy. The one that would dominate and rule over the witches and every other supernatural creature.

He only hoped she changed her mind soon before her dreams started. He got up from bed and walked gingerly towards the bathroom, careful not to step on the scattered pieces of glass. After a long shower, he dressed in black pants and a button down shirt and made his way to his dad's office. As he walked down the hallway he came across Cassie, the daughter to one of the maids. She blushed warmly as she saw him and lowered her head to hide a smile. She was a young witch just getting to know about herself. Xavier was infatuated with her but he kept it secret because his father would never approve of such a relationship.

Normally he would stop her to say hi, or pull her into one of the vacant rooms to steak a kiss or two. But he wasn't in the right frame of mind. The dream had ruined his mood and he wanted to have a serious talk with his dad.

"Cassie",he murmured softly and flashed a smile at her. Cassie bowed her head in respect as they passed each other. She was a bit disappointed when he didn't pull her close like he always did but she took it off her mind and continued with her chores.

Xavier knocked on the door to the office before entering. His dad was sitting behind a massive mahogany desk and a crystal ball was before him. He was staring at the crystal ball in a brooding manner. His long purple hair was tied at the nape of his neck and thrown carelessly over one shoulder.

"Dad everything okay?",Xavier asked.

Logan took a deep breath and moved his eyes from the crystal ball to his son. "Yes, yes",he said. "I'm just contemplating some things."

"Things like what?",Xavier probed further. He knew his father was in deep thoughts whenever he acted this way.

"Never mind Xavier. Have you had breakfast? Your mom should be waiting for us at the dining",Logan said and pushed the crystal ball away.

"I'm not hungry",Xavier said. There was a brief pause before he added,"It happened again." Logan looked up at his son and knew instantly what he was talking about.

"I'll call in the Night Faes to put your room in order. It shouldn't take lo....."

"It's not about putting my room in order dad",Xavier interrupted him. "I need to know how I can control my powers. I'm scared to even go out, I don't want to hurt innocent people."

"I understand Xavier but you need to be patient. The Sisters of the Night have been notified. They will be here with the remedy by the next full moon",Logan pleaded with his son. He knew what Xavier was going through. He remembered when he had just completed eighteen. As a powerful witch with royal blood, it wasn't an easy task trying to control his powers. At this time, the power was at its peak and it would want to unleash itself at any given opportunity if not properly controlled. Only the Sisters of the Night had the remedy to keep the powers on a tight leash. But they only travelled on the night of a full moon so it would take a long time before they got to the Michaelsons' mansion. Logan only hoped his son would be able to endure till they arrived.

He stood up and walked to his son. "I understand how you're feeling Xavier. Your mother and I are here for you." Xavier sighed and nodded. He only hoped his sister wasn't having the dreams yet. He turned to leave when suddenly he had a vision. His body went hard and stiff. His eyes turned completely white and his purple hair seemed to glow.

"Xavier?",Logan called repeatedly. He became alert when Xavier remained still. He knew what was happening. The door opened and Isabel walked in. She stopped dead when she saw her son in a strange state.

"Xavier?",she called in alarm. "Logan what's happening to him? What's happening to my son?",Isabel was hysterical. Something like this had never happened to him. She knew his powers had been unleashed, but this was different. Logan pulled her into his arms when she tried to touch her son and tried to calm her down.

"Nothing's wrong Isabel",he said. "He's just having a vision. You don't need to be worried",he tried to soothe her while his eyes never left his son. "This is totally normal. The only thing we can do is to give him time and not to break his concentration",he added.

"What happens if he loses his concentration?",Isabel asked softly as she stared at her son. He was immobile and his white eyes were eerie. She never knew having visions were part of Xavier's powers. "You never told me he would have visions",she said to her husband.

"I never knew it would happen so soon. I swear on my life Isabel, I would never hide anything from you",Logan said as he looked down at his wife. Then he answered her previous question, "If he loses his concentration, his soul would be lost to the other realm. Do not fret my dear, for as long as he's undisturbed, he's safe",he finished.

Just as it started, it ended. Xavier gasped and took in deep breathes. His eyes returned to its silvery colour and he noticed his mother in the room with them.

"Mom?",he asked softly. "When did you get here?" Then he looked at his dad, "Did I black out?",he asked with a frown.

"You just had a vision Xavier. What did you see?",Logan asked.

"Vision? You never told me about having visions. What else are you keeping from me dad?"

"I never meant to keep this from you",Logan said. "I felt it was too soon for you to start having visions. It happened at a later age for me. What did you see?",he asked again.

Xavier frowned and tried to remember."I'm not really sure",he said.

"Don't force it. This is your first time so it will be a bit hazy. Relax and let it come naturally",Logan instructed.

Xavier took a deep breath and closed his eyes. Pieces of memories danced around his subconscious. He saw Serena. She was at a shop. Then he saw people staring at her in horror. He saw pieces of glass everywhere. The walls were cracked. Then he saw her run out. She wasn't watching where she was going. He saw her run into a truck...... Xavier's frown deepened. The next thing, he saw her at the other side of the road, unharmed. The truck had been sliced in two as if it were paper.

Xavier opened his eyes. They were filled with fear. "It's Serena",he said. "I think her powers have been unleashed."

Logan's eyes widened. Things were happening too fast. "What does this mean?", Isabel asked.

"It's happening already. We need to bring Serena here as soon as possible",Logan said seriously.
