Chapter 7 Fatal Attraction

CHAPTER 07

Vera refused lunch, because even though she was interested in the experience of beautiful twins, she chose to have lunch with Marcos in the campus cafeteria, leaving Luana alone with her brothers, who took her out to eat.

Silence dominated the place, everyone was waiting for an opportunity to say something important, but Luana couldn't stand being there because of the headache and nausea and said:

"Since nobody talks, I'll start. I know that I stink of alcohol and that you are feeling it, I confess that I regret it, and not because they are my brothers, but because it is horrible to be drunk, it will not happen again as long as I live. I just ask that you don't tell Mom, because I know it would disappoint her.

The twins looked at Luana with a mixture of concern and understanding on their faces. One of them, Lucas, broke the silence and answered softly:

"Luana, don't worry. We understand that you're feeling bad about having too much to drink. We all make mistakes and it's important to learn from them. We won't tell Mom, but we want you to understand that it's essential to take care of yourself. If you feel pressure to drink or find yourself in a similar situation, remember that you can always decline and choose to make healthier decisions."

The other twin, Gabriel, added:

"We're here to support you, Luana. It's important that we recognize our mistakes and work to improve. If you need to talk about anything, we're willing to listen. We want you well and we want you to be well. But that's not why we called you here, even though it stinks".

"We noticed a conflict with you earlier, we want to understand what's going on, we felt anger coming out of a person's body with so much strength that only heavy energy seemed enough to attack you, it's a blonde girl, with very light skin".

"I know who she is" Luana replied, stopping to drink some water, "I don't know her, but a friend or her boyfriend came up to me and asked me some strange things, she didn't like it and verbally attacked me, in the emotion of the moment I told her to attack to the guy, who I don't know either, it was weird, but I don't think it turns into something serious."

"Stay away from this guy and this girl and anyone who walks with them and if they persist tell us and if they corner you call us, here is not like our city, with our family, friends and neighbors, there are dangerous people around here , do not waver".

Luana nodded, feeling a shiver go through her body when she remembered the boy becoming a giant animal and running, preferring to believe it was a hallucination, as well as the torn sheets, being afraid of the feeling that took her at that moment.

While Luana stayed with the brothers, the tense atmosphere persisted. He tried to understand their concern, but the strange experiences of that morning still echoed in his mind. The twins' words echoed in her ears, warning her of the dangers that could exist in that unfamiliar city.

Even without fully understanding the situation, Luana decided to follow her brothers' advice. He decided to keep his distance both from the unknown boy and the girl who reacted aggressively, until he understood what had really happened and what was the work of the alcoholic drink. Still, a sense of unease and fear enveloped her.

As they walked back to campus, the brothers kept a close eye on their surroundings, as if they were on constant watch. With each passing shadow, Luana felt a twinge of apprehension, realizing that her brothers' concern was real, as they had never been so apprehensive like this, something was happening, Luana could feel it, something involving her, her brothers and that group strange of people, but I thought that at some point I missed something, because I couldn't get clarity in my mind.

Upon reaching the campus, they said goodbye to the brothers and went their separate ways. Luana headed to her dorm, still carrying the lunch she had saved. As she walked through the empty corridors, the feeling of loneliness and uncertainty increased, the doubt about her ability to feel and discern crowded her head making her nervous, not knowing who to trust or how to deal with the strange situations that were occurring.

Upon entering her room, Luana closed the door behind her, feeling momentarily safe and relieved, she could finally rest in her bed for a while. She sat on the bed and reflected on everything that had happened up to that point. The persistent headache nagged at her, but she tried to ignore the nagging sensation.

She noted that Vera wasn't there, taking the opportunity to look at the handkerchiefs one more time and starting to realize that at least they weren't a mirage, they were cut into the shapes of large claws. Luana thought the only animal with claws that big would be the one she wasn't sure she saw last night, or a big bear had invaded campus unnoticed and snatched the sheets from her bed as she slept naked and drunk.

Luana smiled at her own thought, even seeing the torn sheet in her hand, the story was too crazy to be real, thinking that maybe she was just dreaming, she lay down and slept.

"Hey Luana" Called Vera lightly waving her arm "Luana wake up, you're going to miss the empty bathrooms".

"Is it morning?" she asked sleepily.

"Yes, when I arrived you were sleeping, I even checked your pulse, in fact your heartbeat is strong".

"I don't believe" Luana said, getting up "That he put his hand on me and I didn't even feel it".

"If feeling a pulse is putting your hand in, I did. At dinner time I saw his brothers around, I also saw Gerson around here, he actually had dinner with us, he was worried".

The two grabbed their robes and walked to the bathroom, Luana felt better, just hungry.

"Worried or disappointed? I felt sick all night, I threw up and Gerson had to carry me a good part of the way because he couldn't stand on his own."

"Are you sure nothing happened? He was excited."

"I threw up, what a shame, not intending to see him so soon, imagine what kind of professional he will think I am. But what about you and Marcos, were they just kissing?"

"For now yes, we talked, walked around and kissed, they were delicious kisses, but he didn't take his hand off my waist".

"You with a dress like that, Marcos didn't try?"

"It was just a kiss on the mouth and hand on the waist, but the guy is great."

The two bathed each in their own shower in the locker room, even without seeing each other they didn't stop talking and laughing, starting the day in a lively way and leaving for the bedroom to enjoy the hours they had before classes.

Luana picked up her cell phone, saw that her mother had called many times, as had her sisters , and had two calls from an unknown number, several messages from everyone, starting to read them little by little and showing Vera the message she received.
