Chapter 4 The Princess

"Princess, excuse me, can you hear my voice?" asked a woman in a maid outfit who had been standing by Novita's side. Making Novita who heard that again frowned.

"Princess? Me?" Novita's mind raged again. 'Putri' was indeed one of her names, but Novita clearly understood the context of what the waitress in front of her meant. Not wanting to keep him waiting, she nodded her head.

"Yes, I can hear you," Novita said to the server. Although occasionally her mind and heart were still questioning what she had just said. Was she really a princess here?

"Thank goodness, I'm glad you're finally back," said the waitress as she continued to try to wipe away her tears that wouldn't stop coming.

Novita only returned the servant's words with a smile. As her mind raged with questions. Then, the fragments of the tragedy that had just happened returned to Novita's memory as if to force the girl to think even more.

"Am I in someone else's body right now? If I recall, the graceful woman earlier referred to me by another woman's name. Who was it? Ah, I don't even remember her." Novita cursed her weak memory.

Meanwhile, the sound of the doorman at the front door calling out broke her reverie.

"The palace physician enters the room!" the guard exclaimed in a booming voice as the door of the room began to open revealing an old man who staggered toward the king.

"Forgive me, Your Majesty. I didn't realize that what I said about the princess's condition was wrong," said the physician looking so guilty.

"No problem. Now try checking on the Princess again. She became a little strange after her awakening."

"Yes, Your Majesty," the healer bowed, then began to approach Novita who was still sitting in her chest.

For a long time the healer examined Novita's condition, while occasionally throwing questions that were actually quite simple as they only asked Novita to mention a few names and their respective positions.

But Novita was clearly unable to answer even though the healer pointed to several people around them and repeatedly tried to pry into the princess' memory. For a moment, the healer was silent as a confused look came over Novita.

"How is it? What really happened?" asked the king anxiously.

"It seems the princess has lost some of her memory, Your Majesty. I will try to make a potion that might be able to make the Princess' memory come back quickly," said the healer trying to calm him down.

"What? Memory loss?" exclaimed the king in shock.

"How can that be?" added the elegantly dressed woman equally surprised.

Everyone who was still in the room was again struck by confusion along with various questions that returned to their heads because of the strangeness that happened to the princess.

Just like them, Novita who heard the verdict from the healer was no less astonished. She felt that her memory was still perfect. Both about her friends, work, travel, and many other things that she still clearly remembers.

"Then, how could I suddenly lose my memory and wake up in this room filled with people dressed in strange and ancient clothes?" Novita continued to think. While some of the people there kept trying to wipe away her tears.

"It's okay, we can restore your memory slowly. I'm glad you're back," said the king, stroking Novita's mane softly, while the girl remained silent, trying hard to accept everything that had happened to her.

"Take the princess to her room now, let her rest first," said the king who was immediately nodded to by the four servants who were there.

"Come, Princess, we will escort you to your room. A-- are you able to walk on your own? Or should we bring a stretcher?" asked one of the four maids, which was quickly met with a firm refusal from Novita.

"No, no. No need. I can walk on my own," she said, trying to get up from the chest made of the finest wood. Novita then set her feet slowly on the floor with its shimmering base. Even the shine of the finest marble she had ever seen would have been outshone.

"Permission to return to my room, Your Majesty," Novita said to the king as she bowed slightly. She didn't know if it was right or wrong, but at least she had tried to show some manners there.

With every step she took, Novita couldn't stop staring in amazement at the surrounding area of the palace. Every corner that was presented was truly able to spoil her eyes. Until once again an exclamation was heard, shattering her admiration for her surroundings.

"The Princess is entering the room!" exclaimed the guard in charge of guarding the residence, while Novita was still in place.

"Come on, Princess. This is your room," said the servant who led Novita to her room. When the door opened, Novita's eyes were wide-eyed at what was in front of her.

A room so big that even the field where her friends were playing futsal was less spacious than the throne that was said to be her room. Novita was truly amazed at the sight in front of her now, luckily she could control herself enough not to open her mouth wide.

"I-- is this my room?" she muttered involuntarily. A golden bedroom with a bed that looked so soft surrounded by mosquito netting covering it, there were also gold pillars that towered high supporting the ceiling of the room. So luxurious and amazing. Not to mention the ornaments in the room and the various furniture that looked equally luxurious with carvings that were so unique and beautiful. Novita really felt like she was in a dream world.

She quickly stepped inside, about to try out the bed that looked so comfortable. Especially when her body was still aching and her head was still throbbing with pain.

However, her steps came to a halt when she accidentally passed by a full-length mirror that was attached to the wall of the room, revealing her current face.

A face that looked so perfect. Beautiful round eyes adorned with lush lashes on each side. Eyebrows that were sculpted so neatly that they didn't even need to be shaped anymore, luscious lips, a small nose but so cute, and Novita just realized that her fingers looked so flexible. Ah, and let's not forget about her body that was so petite without her needing to diet again. A petite body but from the curves, Novita is pretty sure that her current self is actually very sexy.

"Is this really me?" murmured Novita in disbelief at what she was seeing.
