Chapter 10 The Hunter Becomes the Hunted

For weeks after her successful hunt in the forest, Lena continued to hone her skills and track down dangerous creatures. She had become known as a skilled hunter among those who were aware of the supernatural, and she had developed a reputation as someone who could take on anything.

However, Lena soon realized that she was not the only one who knew how to hunt. One night, as she was stalking a group of vampires, she heard a sound behind her. Lena turned to face her attacker and saw a figure looming in the shadows.

It was another hunter, one she had never seen before. He was tall and muscular, with a stern expression on his face. Lena immediately knew that this was someone who was not to be trifled with.

The hunter approached her, his hand on the hilt of his sword. "Who are you?" Lena demanded, her crossbow at the ready.

"I am Adrian," the hunter replied. "And I've been following you for some time now."

Lena was taken aback. She had always been careful, making sure that no one knew her true identity or her location. She had never expected to be caught off guard like this.

Adrian continued. "I've seen what you can do, and I have to admit, I'm impressed. But I'm here to warn you. You're treading on dangerous ground, Lena. The creatures you're hunting are not to be underestimated. You need to be careful, or you'll end up like so many others who have tried to do what you're doing."

Lena bristled at the warning. She didn't need anyone telling her how to do her job. "I appreciate your concern," she said, "but I can take care of myself. I don't need your help."

Adrian raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?" he said. "Well, I hope you're right. But if you ever find yourself in trouble, don't hesitate to call me."

With that, Adrian turned and disappeared into the night. Lena watched him go, feeling a mixture of anger and confusion. She didn't like the idea of someone else watching her every move, but she also couldn't deny the fact that Adrian seemed to know what he was talking about.

Over the next few days, Lena couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. She was always on edge, expecting an attack at any moment. But nothing happened, and eventually, Lena began to relax. She started to believe that maybe Adrian had just been trying to scare her, or maybe he had just been checking up on her.

But then, one night, Lena found herself face to face with a group of creatures that were more powerful than anything she had faced before. They were a pack of werewolves, led by a massive alpha male who towered over Lena.

Lena drew her crossbow, but before she could fire, one of the werewolves lunged at her. She managed to dodge, but then another one attacked her from behind. Lena fought back, using all of her skills and training to fend off the creatures, but she was quickly becoming overwhelmed.

Just as she thought all hope was lost, she heard a voice behind her. "Need a hand?"

Lena turned to see Adrian standing there, his sword at the ready. Together, they fought off the werewolves, with Adrian taking down the alpha male with a swift blow to the neck.

As the last of the creatures fell, Lena breathed a sigh of relief. She turned to Adrian, feeling grateful but also a bit embarrassed. "Thanks," she said. "I guess I could use some help after all."

Adrian just smiled. "That's what I'm here for,"
