Chapter 5 Four

As he furrowed his brow and set down his iPhone, Reese couldn't help but feel a sense of frustration and concern wash over him. It had been a full day since he last attempted to contact Nicky, but her number remained stubbornly unreachable. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.

With their wedding ceremony looming on the horizon, Reese couldn't help but wonder why Nicky seemed to have no interest in planning for the big day. Had something changed? Was she having second thoughts?

To get to the bottom of things, Reese decided to pay a visit to Nicky's parents. Surely they would have some insight into their daughter's whereabouts and state of mind.

However, Reese was left feeling even more dismayed when he learned that Nicky had yet to return home. The unanswered calls and lack of communication were starting to take their toll, and Reese was left wondering what could be causing such a sudden and uncharacteristic disappearance.

With his wedding day drawing near, he couldn't contain his excitement at the thought of donning a traditional Filipino Barong. Like many Filipino men, he had always dreamed of wearing this garment on his special day, and he was eager to make this dream a reality.

But his excitement was about more than just the clothes he would wear. He was also deeply committed to fulfilling his father's goal of seeing him happily married. This time, he was determined to make it down the aisle and exchange vows with his beloved.

As he imagined the scene unfolding, he felt a rush of emotion. He could picture his fiancée walking slowly toward him, her beauty taking his breath away. He could hear the Father's words, permitting him to kiss the bride in front of their loved ones and guests. It was a moment he had been waiting for his entire life, and he was ready to savor every second of it.

Despite the reassuring words of Nicky's parents, a nagging feeling of doubt continued to linger in Reese's mind. While he wanted to believe that Nicky had simply been planning a surprise for him, their suspicious glances and guarded demeanor left him feeling uneasy.

He couldn't shake the sense that there was something they weren't telling him, and he was determined to uncover the truth, no matter what it took.

But where to start? Reese knew that he needed to find Nicky, and quickly. He had scoured the city. His mind raced with worry and anxiety, but he refused to give up.

Then, finally, a glimmer of hope. After countless attempts, Nicky's phone rang and she answered his call. Relief flooded through him as he pressed cellphone against his left ear

But even as he breathed a sigh of relief, he knew that there was still much to uncover. He was determined to get to the bottom of things and ensure that nothing stood in the way of their happiness together.

"Hello, your wedding dress is ready," he announced cheerfully when Nicky finally answered his call. "Did you take a beauty nap and miss my call?" he added with a chuckle.

But instead of Nicky's voice, he heard a harsh, masculine voice. It was a guy who had answered the phone. Who was he, and why did he have Nicky's phone?

"How come!" he said unintentionally audible.

"F*ck you!" He said cursing. "You're interrupting our fun here at Inn's of Dream, asshole."

Now, he clearly understands that his fiance is cheating on him. Really? How dare she could do that to him. Was she wasn't thinking about their upcoming wedding the next week? What the f*ck Nicky is needed? Money? What else? He f*cked up.

Reese hastily left his home and got into his car, driving alone to the famous Inn of Dream. His mind was preoccupied with confusion as he recalled the conversation he had over the phone with a man who claimed to be with his fiance, Nicky.

Upon arriving at the prestigious hotel, Reese was approached by a receptionist who immediately asked about Nicky's room number.

The receptionist informed Reese that the man who was with Nicky was of German nationality, which only added to Reese's confusion.

As he made his way to the door of Nicky's room, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. With his ear pressed against the closed door, Reese hoped to hear any indication of what was happening on the inside.

Moans and the words 'F*ck me hard' are what he hears and he has already guessed what was currently going on inside. What a Jerk! too much, once victimized by Arexia's dishonesty, and here a victim of Nicky's wickedness and infidelity. This was too much for him. Does the fidelity word on the Meriam and Oxford dictionary will make sense of its promises? In its definition.

He wants to confront them with his outrage. But he realized that Nicky after all was just a piece of trash for him and yet, he couldn't believe what Nicky was doing.

He failed again for the second time around, he failed the wedding that everyone dreamed of him. Que Lastima! Too depressed for him to become a groom without a bride for the second time around.

A feeling of regret when he returns home. With each passing minute, he was driving faster and faster until he was red in the face. He stopped the car in front of Aijaxlife Bar, hoping to drown his sorrows in alcohol and forget the events of the day. As he sat at the bar, he couldn't help but think about the decisions he had made and the consequences that followed.

Regret weighed heavily on his heart as he reflected on his actions. The guilt he felt was overwhelming, and he couldn't shake the feeling that he had let someone down. His mind raced with thoughts of what he could have done differently and how he could make amends for his mistakes-or it wasn't his mistake after all.

"A glass of Christmont Sangiovese Por Favor." He requested. The bartender was Matt his best friend.

"Your expensive Christmont," Matt the bartender said.

He gulped the content of the shot glass and as he ordered another drink, he knew deep down that alcohol wouldn't solve his problems, but he couldn't face the reality of his situation. He was lost in a sea of emotions, unable to find his way back to shore.

As the night wore on, the bar grew crowded with people, but he felt alone in his thoughts. He watched as others laughed and enjoyed the company of their friends, but he couldn't bring himself to join in. The weight of his regret was too heavy to bear.

"How are you and, Anne?" he asked his bartender friend. What he was referring to was his American girlfriend.

"It's okay, we're okay," the bartender replied coldly. However, his face suddenly lit up as he recalled something. "Ahmm... become husband next week, and soon to be a Dad. How the hell will the s*x toys collector become a good Dad?" he chuckled, trying to make light of his situation.

Reese shook his head, trying to suppress a smirk. "S*x toys collector, my ass," he muttered under his breath. He took another gulp of his drink, feeling a mix of emotions.

"But weddings are slowly not my thing anymore," Reese added, trying to change the subject. He couldn't help but feel jaded about the whole institution of marriage, and he wasn't sure if he was ready to take that step himself.

The bar surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the city, Reese was at the wave of loneliness. He longed for a deeper connection with someone, but he wasn't sure if he was ready to commit himself to another person. The thought of settling down scared him, but at the same time, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing from his life.

Matt looked at his friend with surprise. "You don't seem too sure about the wedding? What's on your mind?" he asked, curious to know what was bothering Reese.

Reese grinned mischievously. "There's no wedding to be celebrated next week," he said, enjoying the look of shock on his friend's face.

The bartender was taken aback. "You're sick! What's wrong with you?" he exclaimed.

Reese shook his head, his expression turning serious. "Blame someone you know who's going through a midlife crisis," he said, his tone bitter with resentment.

The bartender laughed, trying to lighten the mood. "Slut," he joked, taking a swig of his drink.

"Two-year itch, more like it," Reese said, his voice laced with anger. "Just today, I found out that she was with that f*cking German, convalescing. I've always been there for her, and yet she goes looking for another d*ck."

As he vented his frustrations, Reese couldn't help but feel a sense of betrayal. He had given his all to the relationship, but it seemed like it wasn't enough. The thought of losing his fiancee to another man made him feel insecure and vulnerable.

"Yours not big, perhaps." Matt laughed.

"It is fourteen point eleven inches, want me to shove it in your ass, asshole."

Matt laughed. "So that's the reason," he inquired while pouring wine into a fine glass.

"Why I was gently biting her ass back then?" He stopped figuring out things. "I supposedly rough, and eat her, bite her until she cries for mercy," Reese smirked. The two end up laughing.

Reese spent a prolonged period of time at the bar, consuming multiple alcoholic beverages over nearly two hours.

As a result, he began to experience physical symptoms such as a headache and dizziness, which made it unsafe for him to operate a vehicle.

To avoid driving home in his inebriated state, Reese opted to seek shelter at a nearby hotel. However, as he made this decision, a sudden thought struck him, eliciting a smile.
