Chapter 7 THE TEAM UP

After escaping the mall,myself and Boyka walked back into

the streets,chatting as we moved on.

.

"Why are you the only one out here? Where's Kenzie and

Victor?" I asked,tucking my hands into my jacket side pocket.

.

"They're home....Just decided to take a walk into the city and

then i met with that situation" Boyka replied,taking a dramatic

pause.

"Man,that Brain Puncher is extremely fast....How can we even

defeat him like that?" He added. I chuckled a bit and then

stole a glance at him. It was very obvious that he's kinda

curious to figure out if i had anything in mind to say.

.

"We stand no chances against him....But what can help us

right now is finding a way to know his human form" I said.

Boyka nodded the positive and then patted me on the

shoulder..

.

"No Arthur....That thing,that creature,whosoever it is isn't a

mutant like we are....the meteor mutants aren't carrying evil

powers....It's from a pure source which is from the outer

space ...That's why we can't risk allowing that son of a bitch

to continue with its atrocities" Boyka explained. I went for a

while,thinking far already as i kept mute.

"Wait a minute...if i get you well,what you're trying to say is

that it may not be only him around right?" I said,fully turning

at Boyka and halting my steps also. He smiled,staring into the

open space before us as he continued moving.

.

"That,i can't really say but I think that should almost be in

line with my thoughts....That should be kind of correct" Boyka

said. I caught up with him again.

.

"Then if that's the case,i promise to find out about his human

form,even though i know that's going to take some

time....The creature seem very careful when transforming that

no one knew his real figure" i said.

.

"Well,you nailed it....That's the only way defeating him is

guaranteed....If we don't do that,then we're in for more

surprises in few days time" Boyka added. I looked at my

wristwatch for time but i then realized its broken,probably due

to the fight earlier. We continued walking till we got my

home's vicinity...My house was just a stone throw to where

we were standing that moment. Soon,i based Boyka goodbye

and we immediately parted ways and i headed towards my

window. I jumped,landing directly into my room silently. I

looked back outside and saw that Boyka was gone and i

didn't even see any traces of where he went through. I heaved

a sigh of relief and closed shut my window glass. I had

finished pulling my shoes and shirt when suddenly,i heard

approaching footsteps. I jolted,staring at my room's door. Like

it was strange,i was able to see through the door even when

its still closed....maybe i still have a lot of powers to discover

in me.... I saw my mom approaching already wearing her

night dress. I quickly jumped unto my bed and covered myself

with my blanket. Then a soft knock came on my door few

seconds later. I pretended like i was asleep until i noticed her

presence in the doorway. I started thinking of cooking up a lie

when she suddenly asked me a pleasing question..

.

"So you're inside all this while and you couldn't even check on

your mom,Arthur ?" She asked. I heaved a sigh of relief and

threw aside my blanket.

.

"Sorry mom....i didn't realize you're back already" i replied and

involuntarily grabbed my blanket again. She was staring at me

with a bent eyebrow and a funny look.

.

"I arrived approximately thirty minutes ago and....." She was

still speaking when i cut her short.

.

"i said am sorry ...I was gradually falling asleep. ..I was

stressed out today that's why" i said,turning over on my bed

and finally sitting up

.

"Alright,i shouldn't disturb you i guess....Goodnight son" she

said and walked out,closing the door behind her. As soon as

she left,i sprang up again from my bed and walked into the

bathroom. That night,i had a cold shower to subdue whatever

shit i must have been through that day....After showering,i

went back to bed.

.

"That was close" i muttered and covered myself up with my

blanket....Sooner than i expected,i drifted off into the

wonderful lands of sleep.

I woke up the next morning to find out that it had been raining

for the past six hours. Initially, i didn't even know this until my

mom told me about it when she came into my room that

morning. I got up and began preparing for college and as

soon as i was done in my room,i headed into the living room.

Involuntarily,i turned on the television after realizing i still had

up to thirty minutes to waste before retiring to college. I tuned

it to a news channel and what i saw first was an headline

that says... "ALIENS IN NEW YORK EVADED BY A WONDER

KID" alongside Brain Puncher's picture whom they described

as an alien. My picture was also shown but luckily,my face

didn't show up as i had already covered my face that night

but i was kind of surprised already because no one was able

to see me or even Boyka during the fight with Brain Puncher.

"Awkward...How did they know this?" I asked myself as i took

a bite of my breakfast and emptied a glass of water before

me. Just immediately,i remembered the little girl i saved from

brain puncher night have given some tips to journalists,making

them cook that story up about aliens.

.

"Interesting...That little girl must've told them everything she

saw...Well,news can sometimes be stupid" i said and got up

from the couch. I turned off the television,grabbed my

backpack and turned,facing my mom who was in the kitchen.

.

"Mom...am off to college.. Bye" i said and stormed out of the

house.

.

.

The following weekend,i headed to my friends place very early

in the morning. As soon as i got there,we resorted to location

Lexi and after that decision,we wasted no time in utilizing the

device he handed to Kenzie the day we saw him.

Surprisingly,it turned out to be a portal opening device and as

we activated it,a portal opened up right before us.

.

"Alright...as strange as this night look,am not going into that

thing first" I quickly said,taking two steps backwards. Kenzie

turned and spoke.

.

"Must you be scared of everything you see? You're graduating

becoming a fully grown man and sometimes,you have to take

risks to know the way forward" She said. I was staring at her

like a statue as she spoke.

.

"Whatever...all i know is that am not going into that thing

first" I added looking away from the portal's direction. Victor

heaved a sigh of relief.

..

"Alright...I'll go first....Then you guys follow" Victor said.

.

"We have no choice....Its what we have to do quite alright"

Boyka said. Immediately,Victor jumped into the portal,leaving

some streaks of lightning at the portal edges. Boyka made a

front flip into the portal and when it's Kenzie's turn,she faced

me.

.

"Aren't you coming?" She asked sarcastically and when she

saw that i wouldn't answer her,she grabbed me by the arm.

.

"No....Don't push me....I'll go myself" I said,making her let go

of my arm.

.

"Alright...I'll watch you go into that thing" She said with a

stern look.

.

"That's what am trying to do...Okay?" I said,adjusting my

jacket like someone who was dealt a heavy blow on the face.

Suddenly in the midst of this,Kenzie suddenly pushed me from

behind,forcing me into the portal. I was yelling as i fell into it

but I had no doubt she had followed suit as well...

.

The portal dropped us at a very magnificent,well equipped and

beautifully facilitated facility. I landed on the ground with an

heavy thud and this caused Kenzie and others to laugh at me.

.

"That wasn't funny....witch" i said,directing all the slight

aggression at Kenzie.

.

"Now that you entered the portal,did anything happen to you?"

Boyka asked with a smile.

.

"Yeah...i almost broke my butt" i said sarcastically while i

was gradually getting up from the ground....We were all

flabbergasted at what we were seeing.

.

"Welcome to my home,fellas" a voice emerging from an

incoming elevator said. As soon as the elevator opened up,we

realized it was Lexi himself.

"I thought you'd never come looking for me again" he added

as he stepped out of the elevator towards us.

.

"You should try to adjust the height at which your portal drops

people...I almost broke a butt bone right now" I said,giving

Lexi a sort of weird look.

.

"Oh shut up Arthur...Must you always publicise it that you're

stupid?" Kenzie thundered,sticking out her tongue at

me,obviously mocking me. I did same to her and looked

away...

.

"Um,sorry about that...Welcome to the C33 Cybertron secret

facility" He said. He then walked to a computer,hit some few

buttons and then came back to us.

.

"Yeah...This place looks nice anyway....Now,please will you

tell us what we need to know?"Boyka asked. Lexi was silent

for a while,putting up a smile. He then pressed a purple button

on the band strapped to his left wrist and immediately,the

slated ground opened at some places and beautiful seats

emerged from the inside.

.

"Alright...But please...Have your seats first" He said,sitting

down first to prove his innocence. We all sat down,still

exchanging glances at ourselves....
