Chapter 5 Discovery

The days went by and they formed a sort of routine. On weekdays, the girls would wake up and have breakfast before Hannah, and every once in a while Adriana, would head off to class. Once they were gone, Jake would often meet Larry in the trees as they watched over his house.

He thought the terms were moonrise and moonset, but wasn't sure.

That information put a slight kink into Jake's plan, as that meant he didn't know the approximate time he would transform or how long he would remain human.

Hannah said, "Werewolves aren't real. Besides, aren't werewolves normally human and then turn into wolves?"

"Well, yeah-in the movies, but this is real life. Maybe he is a werewolf, but something's happened that's preventing him from changing back?"

Hannah laughed and knocked on Adrianna's forehead. "Hello McFly, this is real life! Werewolves don't exist!"

Adriana then continued her questioning. "Did you know us-from when you were human?" Jake nodded as Hannah covered her face and cried.

Jake looked around, but there was no easy way to communicate anything other than yes or no. Realizing the quandary and limitation of only being able to ask questions that with yes/no answers. Adriana thought for a bit until Hannah suggested he knew how to spell.

Adriana startled both of them when she had a bright idea. She went into the storage room and brought out a collapsed delivery box. She tore it down to just being one side of the box.

Adriana then opened up the laptop and put it above the box. Hannah then caught on to her plan as she went and got two permanent markers and an old metal carpentry square out of the storage room.

The two girls then took to creating a cardboard keyboard.

The squares ended up being smaller than Jake's paws, but they were large enough that he could point to the letters.

With the keyboard created, Hannah opened the laptop and started a text editor, while Adriana was going to relay the keys Jake pointed to.

"OK Jake, you've got a keyboard. What do you want to tell us?"

Jake thought for a second, then decided on the most important thing. "Have a plan. Need help on the full moon."

Adriana took out her phone and did a search. "The full moon is in two days. Are there others like you?"

Jake nodded and then pointed to the number 5. "Five others?" Jake nodded.

"So who did this to you?"

"Witches."

Hannah laughed. "Why not? Turns out werewolves are real, why wouldn't witches be real too?"

Adriana continued her questioning. "These witches changed all of you?" Jake nodded.

"Who are the witches?"

"Gabbie and her mom, across the park from here."

Hannah spoke up. "Gabbie? That's not a very popular name. My cousin that went missing was neighbours with a Gabbie. Nina always said she and her mom were weird."

As she realizing what she had just said, her eyes went wide. "Jake, is one werewolf a female named Nina?" Jake nodded.

Hannah shrieked and hugged Jake. "My cousin that went missing. If we help Jake, maybe we can save her too?" Looking at Jake, she asked, "Jake, can you go get Nina?"

Jake shook his head and went to his keyboard. "Know of her, never met her. Larry and Brent both said they hadn't heard from her in a while. We hope she's OK!"

"How can we help with your plan?"

"Too much to say this way. Will tell you on the full moon. Hannah, you will need to call Officer Davidson on the full moon."

Adriana summarized everything. "So in two days, Hannah needs to invite Officer Davidson here, and she can witness you transform. Then you'll explain the rest of your plan to us when you can actually talk."

Jake nodded, then typed. "When you call her, tell her you have pertinent information regarding several missing persons."

"So it's a hurry and wait situation." Adriana said as she pulled down her pants and put her elbows on the couch. "Whatever shall we do?" She said as she wiggled her ass in Jake's direction.
