Chapter 5 At the bar 2

Her normal self would be crawling away on the floor and trying to run away from her past failures

"What do you want?" He asked out of the blue, as if giving her a check for anything in the world that she needed.

"Nothing, leave me alone," she said flatly, blocking the thoughts of all she needed from her mind.

"I know you are looking for a job," He said.

Her eyes widened at the statement and the way he said it with confidence, so she asked, "how do you know about this?"

He laughed at the way she looked and winked at her.

She thought he was guessing and then added, "there is absolutely no way you..."

"I have eyes everywhere," he said, disrupting her, which confused her.

"Whatever! I do not care. All that you are saying is pure scam, please."

"Really? Who is a scammer here?"

"Just go, and let me drink in peace." She said, ordering more bottles of strong alcoholic drinks.

She did this obviously to impress him and make him feel like she was okay and comfortable with the life she was living, even though she knew she wasn't.

"Will you be able to pay for these? You know you just lost your job, I mean jobs."He said justly.

It surprised her when he said that again, but she did her best to cover up, so she said, "that is none of your business," she growled at him.

He ignored her childish act and stood up with a shrug before he dropped a black small card on her lap.

Malik threw it on her angrily, and she raised her brow, questioning his immature act.

"You will need my help with this wrapt," Malik said angrily at her.

"I wouldn't" she was still trying to be as strong as possible and not be vulnerable in his sight"

"Of course you will. You have no job and I know you can't stay idle because you need to survive."He said mockingly.

All these words he was saying were bruising her ego, and he knew that, so he did it more intensely.

Massey was not one who easily surrender, so she glared at him with her gritted teeth.

"I don't need your fucking help," she growled, squeezing the card while he shrugged and turned to leave.

But as he was about to go out, he turned again and left the bar after blowing her kisses.

"Asshole," she cursed as she watched him leave the bar.

She took one last glance at the squeezed card before dropping it on the ground.

Malik Hampton drove into his mansion with a mischievous smirk displayed on his face.

Highlighting from his car after one of his bodyguards opened it, his personal assistant rushed towards him.

He was puffing when he came and this made Malik attend to him immediately. He asked him what he needed.

Why he had thought that the matter would not be beyond money, he received a shocker because it was

"Mr Hampton, your father is here." He said.

Malik stood for seconds and stared at his PA with a questioning look. It went on till his P.A coughed to bring his attention back.

"Did he not say the reason for his visit?" his PA said.

Without uttering another word, Malik took giant strides as he walked into his mansion and found his father seated.

He majestically seated himself on one of the beautifully decorated and well-designed leather couches with legs crossed.

Malik couldn't read his mood and did not know what he might be thinking.

"Leave us" he instructed whoever was around without looking back, and his personal assistant left.

Oddly, the P.A stared at him, then passed a look to his father before leaving them. He wanted to know the situation.

"Why are you here?" Malik immediately inquired, walking towards him and taking the cup of wine in his front.

He did the act just like he was angry at him and gulped it right down.

Shawn-Hampton stared at his younger version, and they left him speechless like the first knew about him.

At first, he never believed he had a son from his ex-lover who his parents never allowed to marry because of his contracted fiance.

Yes, weird as it would sound and look, his parents wedded him to a gay person because of one stupid contract.

They later divorced after three years of the ridiculous marriage because they were not compatible at all.

There were so many reasons they had to leave each other, and the main reason for their divorce was cheating.

Even though he doesn't want to cheat, he had no choice but to because he is straight and not gay like his partner.

After the divorce, he decided to work with passion without his parents' help, which he endup succeeded.

"Son" he called, he could see himself in him and that scared him greatly.

"Yes."Malik replied flatly, wondering what his father had been thinking all the time he went mute.

"I went to check up on your mom, and the doctor said she would still come out of the coma."

Malik just shrugged at first. He had heard this line of times without number that he no longer had faith, so he just stared.

"And it would be sooner than we expect it to be," his father finally added.

Malik's face hardened as he reminisced about how his mother got into a coma.

"That bitch caused it, she put my mom in a coma."he muttered beneath, gritted.

"I will make sure she regrets her existence" he spat out in anger venomously as he remembered his days in highschool.

It was as though he had completely taken his mind off what he needed to focus on. He should at least be happy for his mother.

He recalled being a timid child and an extraordinarily shy boy in the past.

His sole wish was to take care of his mother's needs and make her happy by staying out of trouble.

He just wanted to be a good boy before he encountered a bully and bitch who he foolishly had a secret crush on.

She bullied him at any chance she got and when he remembered the time she found out he had a crush on her; he boiled.

Her name was Massy,the great Massy Tedd.

She turned him into an object of bully. He could remember when she found out his mother was a cleaner in the town's restaurant.

It was the worst day of his life then because she mocked him and made him an object of laughter.

She was also part of who made his mother go into a coma,he could remember that day. That day was bittersweet because his mother had just got her dream job in her father's company finally.

They were celebrating it until the second week. They accused his mother of being a spy from a rival company.

The news spread out as they released a falsified video with his mother giving the rival company the company's documents.

Practically the only people who knew the video had been edited were Malik and his family. But no one would believe them when they said it.

And of course Massy used it against him in school and made him a laughingstock, which hurt him so badly.

He was over it but what hurt him most was when he caught her stealing the question papers for examination.

Unfortunately, and to his amazement, he was admitted responsible for it, which made the school authorities expel him.

When he tried to defend himself, none of the authorities wanted to listen to him.

They never believed him. After all, he had nothing, and he was still a nobody compared to Massy.

After they expelled him, his best friend, who was trying to find justice for him dead.

Till this moment, his killer was unknown while his case was closed. Everything she did was because of her father's wealth.

He was happy he met his father after those terrible days, months and years and he promised to make her pay.

Taking advantage of her acquisitive stepmother, he started doing whatever he could to take charge of her father's business.

Now it is her turn to be ruined. He was even shocked to see her leave the ill luck of her family when she started everything.

Unknown to her, she was the major reason her family was suffering and their wealth flew into thin air.

Shawn gazed at his son as he clenched his fist with gritted teeth. He knew what was happening.

But he did not know what to do, so he looked away because a larger part of it was his fault.

Well, if his parents had allowed him to marry Malik's mother, who was also the woman he wanted to marry, all this would not happen.

He knew that if the family had been together from the start, then his son would not be maltreated and looked down on.

That was the main reason he wanted to make Malik forget those days, and that has not been easy, but he was still trying his best.

He wanted Malik, his only son, to feel fatherly love and all other things which he missed when he was young.

Massy, on the other hand, stepped out of her small bathroom as if something was pursuing her.

Again, she hurried, rushing to her small bag at the corner of the room to get what to wear.

She got a call from her step mother telling her father had slumped and was in hospital.

Even though she was still having a hangover from the drink she had yesterday, she had to leave the house immediately for the hospital.

Yesterday, after Malik left, she drank three bottles of strong alcoholic whiskey nonstop.

She rushed out of her house looking like a psycho and waved at any taxis she spotted but none waited because of her psychotic look.

A patient taxi driver later waited to pick her up.
