Chapter 5 LORI POV

Today the beta come to introduce me to his mate, he is short and very handsome and most importantly fun. He told me he got a me a little job at the kitchen, I will be helping out with barking and cooking. They even walked me over to the kitchen to met a very mean looking lady, around 30 years of age. She looked me up and down then went " hmm I will see how she does and inform you"

They left me with her and about 8 omegas, she started shouting orders so I did my best to keep up. She told me to make something sweet for lunch, so I made a banana cake with chocolate dripping source. As I was starting she told me it had to feed 300+ wolfs .. so I made different banana cake with different sources. It was alot of work!

I was planning on Skipping breakfast so to get it done she refused saying I need all the energy I could get and they in the Bloodmoon pack don't over work their omegas. I had my breakfast, eat very fast, one Omega offered to help. Her name was Merry, she was very sweet and friendly. Actually all the Omegas were super friendly, I made new friends very fast.

I finished baking and Ruth come to taste, she looked at me up and down yet again then smiled . " Well you might be skinny but you can sure bark your little skinny heart out... Sticks here will be helping me with baking but when free she can help out with the other things"... Merry hugged me and told me that no one has ever been allowed to bark with her, I asked why she called me sticks because I already told her my name " she doesn't bother learning our names because we rotate our shifts and giving you a nickname means she will remember you"

It was weird but I understood, Bloodmoon pack was big so it might be difficult to remember everyone's name. I was done before they got done preparing lunch so I helped out. We took out all the food to the dinning hall and my goodness! The dinning hall was beautiful and big. I was amazed till Merry said that this was the small dinning hall! They have a building , a separate building for bigger event.. and here I was thinking this was a big event. The hall opened up to a garden, it would be perfect for sunset pictures!

People starting walking in so I got out of the hall into the kitchen, we started cleaning up first. To make work less boring we talked about our life's and our dreams, almost all couldn't wait to find their mates. I on the other hand was not so sure, candy told me so many times that I ended up believing her " you will die alone! No one wants a mate who is this ugly and skinny! Plus I will tell your mate all your life you have been the beta's bedwarmer ".. I know it's not true,I mean the bedwarmer part. But being skinny and ugly I actually believe her. I had a boyfriend, he was my first and it was fun till he told me I was ugly and weak and he was not going to introduce me to his family let alone his friends.

I found out two weeks later candy paid him to date me and dump me. For 5 months I thought it was love, since then I have stayed away from boys and I have been happy. They finished eating and Ruth was called out to the hall, she come a few minutes later.

Ruth-. Well well well! Your banana cake was a hit! They loved it . Even the alpha loves it and he doesn't like sweet things!

Lori- oh wow , thank you miss Ruth for the opportunity!

Ruth- damn... Your well rised! I like that. You have to be here by 5:30... I know your the personal assistant to your beta, but since you will be cooking already it will be fine just as long as you ask for help when you feel overwhelmed... Don't go anywhere the alpha wants to thank you personal.... Clean up before you go to lunch.

I was not giving a chance to reply as the door was swinged open, and in walked a men. He was tall, black hair, blue eyes muscle. I could see his muscles through the jacket he was wearing. He stood at the door and I smelled the most peaceful scent ever! The smell of the forest, my world collided in one. My heart was all the way up to my throat, ready to come out with just one word. And he said it "MATE" , he started walking over to me and I took of running. I did not stop, I kept running.

I bumped into Cody and Steven as I passes them at the pack house door. I heard Steven calling out to me but I was too busy running away from my Alpha mate to stop for him. I went in to the forest and I could hear paws coming in my direction, I found a big ass tree and went up the tree. I was not a fan of high places, but at that moment I did not care. I got as high as I could and just closed my eyes hoping they won't find me.

That was short lived, I felt like someone was staring at me and when I opened my eyes I met those of a big ass black wolf! A mother fucken black wolf! I have never seen one nor heard about one. I was so scared I fell of the tree and landed on my leg. It was broken no doubt about it, I screamed in pain and a familiar brown wolf showed up. It was Steven, he shifted and I closed my eyes. He had some shorts tired to his leg, he quickly got dressed.

Steven- kid you alright?

Lori- no I think I broke it!

Steven- let me see!

He did not get a chance to look at my leg as the wolf jumped on top of him and growled at his face. I was screaming my lungs out, I felt a hand on my shoulder and I screamed even harder. Two more brown wolf showed up, and a old looking men come with a short redhead lady. The brown wolf pushed off the black one off of steven and I throw myself at him. The black wolf growled a very strong and vicious growl, I hide behind Steven. The wolf shifted back and it was none other than my alpha mate.

Xander- GET AWAY FROM MY MATE!

everyone turned around and looked at me, I pulled Steven even closer. He will protect me I know for a fact. He Shaked his head.

Steven- my apologies alpha but I can't !

Cody- why the fuck not ?

Troy- Lori is your mate ?

Xander- I will kill you if i have to repeat myself!

Steven- then do your worse because I am not letting her go unless she say so herself!

Cody- STEVEN!

Steven- sorry Cody but she is my family! She is mine to protect!

The alpha throw himself at Steven and i jumped between then. He hit me and I fell into Steven who got up so fast and pulled me behind him. Him and Troy stood in front of me with me behind them bleeding from the nose due to the impact. The Alpha took a step back and looked straight at me and all his anger disappeared.

Xander- your hurt!.. I hurt you!

Troy- alpha xander she is just a kid! Barely 18. She turned 18 a week ago.

Xander- she is my mate and I made her bleed.

Steven- she is no one's mate till she herself say so!

Troy- Steven hash!

Steven- I don't care if you kill me! She is not yours til she say so.. infact Lori let's go!

Lori- I can't walk!

Xander- mate!

He kept saying that and looking all defeated. I jumped on one foot for a while then Steven carried me, Cody come to walk with us and it was kind of uncomfortable.

They have a hotel at the pack I did not know, I thought Steven will take me to my room but he passed saying his not letting me out of his site. Cody paid for the room, a one room two bed, Cody was more of a mothering type. He went out and got me food and some painkillers, he run me a bath while Steven was pacing around the room. He was mad, but I knew he will eventually ask so I spoke first.

Lori- I felt it ! The moment I looked him in the eyes in the kitchen... I knew he was my mate.

Cody- so he is your mate?

Lori- yes.. but!

Steven- but what ?

Lori- I don't want to be leader! I don't want to leave you behind! ... You guys are all I have.

Steven- do you want to be his mate?

Lori- I don't want a relationship where I end up being played yet again.

Cody- his your mate Lori! He won't hurt you!

Lori- but I will have to move here ! And leave my friends ! My family.

Cody- we all have to move away from our homes for our mates at some point.. it's not easy nor fair but it's how it is!

Lori- so you will move ?

Steven- we haven't talked about it yet!

Cody- actually I don't know about that.. I mean when xander pinned you down I thought I will lose you and I couldn't picture a world without you in it and be happy. So yes it's a possibility that I might move... Look I don't know you that well but I do know xander! His not that bad, give him a chance and if you still don't see yourself being here... Reject him!

Lori- I am not good-

Steven- stop it ! I hate it when you get all negative and shit!.. your strong and worthy of a lot and your mate will be lucky to have you as a mate not the other way around.

Cody- man are dicks! ...

Lori- lol you are a man Cody!

Cody- really? Hmm I don't identify as man or women I am a wolf and that's all I am!

Lori- I wish I was confident as you!

Cody- new cloths, new looks will give you a lot of confidence.. plus shopping makes everything better . We will go tomorrow.

Steven- and I am guessing I will have to pay ?

Cody- Lol not yet . This is my gift to little Lori but yes next time I go shopping your paying!

Steven- got it!

They slept together on the other bed and I took the other. I did not sleep not one bit, I woke up early took a bath and went to the pack house kitchen. Everyone was looking at me funny but I decided not give it much thought, I walked in the kitchen and everyone lowered their heads and said in union " Luna".. I doubled back and was blocked by something or rather someone. I turned around and found the short redhead smiling at me. I give a weak smile and tried to get around her so I can get out of here. She blocked my path.

Redhead - hello there! My name is Sarah.. Alpha xander's mother !

My mouth was hanging open with shock, she was very short to have a son so big and tall. But I see where he got the blue eyes from, she laughed and closed my mouth.

Sarah- come have tea with me!

Lori- hmm I, I don't think I can.

Sarah- why not ?

Lori- I have work to do.. Ruth Said -

Sarah- your the alphas mate, you don't have to cook anymore.

Lori- WHAT ? WHY? THAT IS THE ONLY REASON I COME HERE !... NOT FOR THE STUPID PARTY BUT TO LEARN HOW TO BAKE... WE ARE NOT MATED YET AND HE ALREADY CONTROL MY LIFE!!

I was shouting and crying at the same time, xander showed up and he stood there. Still as a robot, he was looking at me. I dropped to the floor and put my knees to my chest and started to rock myself back and forth. Two man and a young lady walked in, I could tell they are some how related to Sarah and Xander because of their black hair and blue eyes. The lady got on her knees while the two man tried to get xander's attention. Her mother was also trying to get close to me, she kept saying no that's not what I meant but I knew what she was saying.

I was going to be Luna and baking was no longer a priority. The pack has to come first. The lady touched my leg and quickly pulled away like I was hot or something.

Lady- sorry I didn't mean to hurt you..

Lori- huh?

Lady- your leg!.. it's broken right?

Lori- I healed up yesterday... What do you want and who are you?

Lady- oh silly me.. my name is brandy and I am the beta female, mate to alpha xander's brother Zion!

Lori- Lori!

Brandy- hmm I like your name, Hy Lori do you think we can get out of the kitchen to a More comfortable place so we can talk ?

Lori- no! I have a job to do.. well I think I still have a job, I don't know anymore. Everything is changing way to fast. Sorry I want to go.. please let me pass!

Brandy- hmm oh alright, can I walk with you then ?

Lori- your the beta, you don't have to ask my permission its your pack after all.

A collective gasp was heard throughout the kitchen, I got up and she backed away. I went to pass xander when he grabbed my arm very tight I let out a scream. Within seconds steven and Cody where there. Cody pushed Xander off and I guess he was not expecting it because he almost lost his balance. Xander growled and both Steven and Cody did not stand down. Xander looked very mad his canines extended and looked very sharp.

Cody- your not helping yourself here xander! She is scared.

Xander- she is my fucken MATE!

Steven- not yet she isn't!

Cody- she might never be your mate if you don't stop with this savage behavior you have going... Give her time, I will keep her safe!

Zion- take her and go Cody! His not going to follow you!

Cody- thank you beta Zion!

Xander- Cody you take My mate and your a dead man!

Cody- really? This is how you want to win her over ? By going around threatening to kill everyone? You already tried to kill the only family she has.. and you think it gets you closer to her ? FUCK YOUR AN ASSHOLE!.

Xander- WATCH IT I AM YOUR ALPHA!

cody- not for Long... I might as well move to Night shade pack if this is how you treated your mate and and friends!

Xander did not bother replying he launched himself at Cody and buried his claws in his ribcage. I don't know what pushed me but I got on his back and started to hit him as hard as I could. He must have not felt any of the fireworks that happens each time mates touch each other because he hit me with the back of his hand and I went flying into the kitchen wall. Steven shifted and pushed xander off of Cody but xander turned and grabbed Steven from the back, wrapping his arms around his ribcage. And squeezed, Steven was screaming and the other where trying to help Cody and release Steven from the tight grab of xander.

They were trying but failing, he was going to kill him. I was dizzy and my head was dancing to its own bet, I used the kitchen unit to stand and support myself.

Lori- please! Please let him go.. your killing him . Please I beg of you.. his my only family.

I was begging and he turned around, eyes bloody red. His eyes changed color so fast it was creepy, he walked over to me and wiped a tear of my check. It was then I realized I was crying, I slowly went around him and made my way to Cody and Steven. Troy come in running and come over to me, he did not say anything. Xander come over and tried to touch me, I jumped back and Troy held me. " Please don't hurt them please!". Was all I managed to say before passing out.
