Chapter 4 Buy Villas.

"Hmph, let's see what they can do." Lagan grumbled.

By now, Matthew had helped Lucas and Isabella into the car, and the atmosphere was tense.

Lucas seemed to want to ask something, but Matthew quickly reassured him.

"Over the years of wandering, I've saved some money. For now, I'll buy us a nice house, and we'll figure things out later."

This comforted Isabella a bit, but she still felt their savings would only last for a short time.

Her father's illness required a lot of money, and the White family had cut off all her connections.

"How far can that money go? Your savings can't sustain my father's illness." she said.

But Lucas, despite having little hope and not wanting his daughter to be pessimistic, knew that Matthew was their only lifeline.

"Isabella, you and Matthew just live well. People's lives are dictated by fate. don't overthink it. My illness isn't something that can be cured with just money. Don't worry too much."

Matthew was utterly perplexed. Three years ago, his father-in-law's health wasn't excellent, but he wasn't sick either. Now, however, his illness had worsened significantly. Regardless, the priority was to address the condition first.

"Father, don't worry. I know a renowned doctor, and I can ask him to examine your condition." He reassured.

"Really?" Isabella's eyes lit up.

"Indeed." Matthew nodded and spoke with confidence.

Lucas didn't harbor much hope, but he pretended to be happy to reassure Isabella.

Matthew instructed James to drive to the AB Center, the largest real estate agency in Blue Sea City. Seeing the sign, Isabella hesitated, thinking that even with Matthew's savings, they could only afford a small house in a narrow alley. How could they afford an apartment in the AB area?

"James, you can wait here. I'll be back soon." Matthew said, then turned to Isabella and Lucas with a gentle demeanor: "I know you haven't forgiven me yet, but I'll explain everything gradually. Right now, we need to find a place for Father to recuperate, alright?"

Though Isabella was still angry with Matthew, she knew that without him, she would have been forced into another man's arms. Worried about her father, she agreed that they needed a place for him to recover.

"But the apartments here are so expensive, with the lowest price being a few million USD. We can't afford it... and Father's illness..." she trailed off.

Seeing his daughter's concern, Lucas patted her hand as if to say he was fine.

"It's okay. We'll find a way to treat Father's illness, and we should find the best place for him. He needs peace for recovery, so we can't skimp on that." Matthew assured them. After helping Isabella out of the car, he noticed Lucas's forehead flushed.

Recalling that his father-in-law had been bullied earlier, Matthew suspected that Lucas had been injured.

"James, don't wait for me. Take my father-in-law to XT Hospital for a thorough checkup and wound disinfection, then come back here." Upon hearing XT Hospital, the best international hospital in Blue Sea City, Lucas hesitated due to the high cost. But James had swiftly prepared to take him there before he could refuse.

Isabella didn't object, either. She didn't mind the expenses as long as her father was thoroughly examined. As Matthew and Isabella entered the real estate agency, they were greeted by a luxurious setting that showcased the establishment's prestige.

"Welcome, sir and madam, please follow me this way." a cheerful young employee greeted them. Judging by her name tag, she was a probationary staff member.

"Alright." Matthew tenderly looked at Isabella, wanting to walk with her. After years of wandering, he no longer had the refined appearance of a scholar, instead exuding a sharp, angular demeanor. His clothes, worn due to their rushed return to Blue Sea City, made him look impoverished. Isabella, however, had maintained her beauty and grace over the years, maturing into an even more elegant woman.

"Matthew, this place is... too extravagant." Isabella whispered, holding his hand.

Matthew held her hand tightly as if to reassure her. His years of fighting had made him cold and persistent, but his heart softened only when thinking of her.

As he approached her, he felt truly content and satisfied.

Whatever she wanted, he could do for her.

A warrior like him had countless assets from various sources and was treated exceptionally well.

Buying a house, a car, or anything else was merely a flick of his wrist.

"What kind of house are you looking for? I'll help you with some advice."

Matthew's shabby appearance didn't put off the young staff member.

"Are you crazy? Welcoming such a poor and wretched person? It would be best if you were not foolish. No wonder you can't close any deals."

A haughty girl with heavy makeup and superior air spoke disdainfully.

At a glance, she seemed to be the manager of this store.

"Lily, he's still a customer... and Edith said that..."

"You don't know anything. Edith Henry, always Edith Henry... do you listen to whatever he says?"

The young employee timidly lowered her head, but before she could finish her sentence, she was interrupted by Layla.

"You should learn to judge people better. Look over there. That's Young Master Brown. He buys a house every month. The commission from the cheapest house here could sustain your lifestyle for three or four months."

While speaking, she arrogantly approached Young Master Brown.

"Sorry, please follow me."

The other employee merely bowed her head, apologizing nervously, and led Matthew and his companion toward the model apartments in the city center.

This was the cheapest apartment, but it had decent conditions.

"Are there no villas here?"

Matthew furrowed his brow slightly.

"What?"

The young employee was taken aback, as even Layla could only sell high-end apartments.

Only those with money and power could buy villas.

Even the so-called Young Master Brown only had a villa his father bought him.

"Are you crazy? Do you know how much a villa costs?"

Isabella was terrified, fearing that Matthew would embarrass them both.

After all, this place was crowded.

But Matthew remained calm, tightly holding Isabella's hand.

"Don't worry, and I've got this."
