Chapter 6 06

LUKA'S POV

The principal in charge of our Pack's high school invited me to the school that morning because of the donation that I had made. We met the previous afternoon when I made the payment to the school's account but I was surprised when she called me again to ask me to pay a visit to the school because she wanted to give me a tour of the school. I felt it wasn't necessary but as the Alpha, I couldn't say no. I haven't been around for years so the school will be the best place to start so I can get accustomed and know what's going on around the pack.

When I woke up, I was actually hoping to drive together with Crystina to the school but before I came out of the room, she had left. I didn't lose hope knowing fully well that I might be lucky enough to meet her on the way since Mary said she left s few minutes before I came out.

Fortunately and true to her words, I found her on the walkways, she was shivering from the cold, her face red like a tomato and she was walking as slow as a snail. I stopped right next to her and waited for her to walk in but to my disappointment, she never came into the car. Angrily, I drove off.

As soon as I drove into the school compound, the principal, a woman in her forties walked up to me. She was wearing a red, ridiculously tight dress that made me wonder if it was right for her to put on such a dress but I ignored her and looked away.

"Welcome back to Moonvalley high school, Alpha Luka," She smiled widely as I got down from the car.

"It's been a while since I've been here," I replied.

"Seven years to be precise, I was only a teacher myself at that time," I nodded. I knew no one could forget such a student like me that easily. I was popular being the Alpha's son and that had so many disadvantages of its own. It became even worst when I became the Alpha at the age of seventeen. I didn't have it easy as many people thought but it's good to be back.

"We really appreciate your donation to the school, it means a lot to us...." She rambled on while I turned my gaze to the school gate, waiting for a particular person to walk in. She should be here anytime soon, so what's keeping her?

'Maybe she froze to death,' my wolf, Maxim taunted, interrupting my thoughts.

'Shut up, Maxim,' I growled, ready to push him to the back of my mind like usual.

'You know being nice wouldn't kill you. You should've just asked her nicely and politely to enter the car but Luka being Luka, always trying to show he's the Alpha decided to be an idiot to our mate one more time,' He complained, nagging my ears off like yesterday, lecturing me about being nice to our mate. I had to leave the house last night and go for a run because I couldn't handle his constant plea for Crystina's attention.

'What was I supposed to do? I asked as nicely as I could,'

'No, you didn't. If you don't want to lose her and lose me at the same time, Luka, learn to be nice,'

I growled slowly watching my wolf glaring at me. I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder and when I turned, it was the principal, looking at me amusingly.

"Are you okay, Alpha Luka?" She asked and I nodded. I took one last look at the gate before I turned to give her my full attention and also followed her into the school.

"This place looks the same to me," I announced as we walked through the hallways.

"We did some renovation last year but decided to use the same color for painting not just for uniformity but consistency,"

"Hmm, you do have a point," The school wasn't deteriorating, in fact, my only fear was if the painting was used as a cover-up to hide the bad eggs but I was glad that she mentioned the renovation.

"Welcome back, Alpha," Some group of girls chorused as I walked by with their principal, I could only give them an awkward smile and wave. Seeing them reminded me of Crystina again and these days, the thought of her pops into my head more than usual.

A few days ago, I had to worry about when I would finally see her again but now, I'm more worried about why she's so scared of me. I know I might have scared her with some of my acts and I feel apologetic about that but how do I say sorry to her?

The principal was talking, I knew she was talking but I swear that I didn't understand one thing she was saying. My mind was somewhere else and I didn't concentrate. Soon, we returned to the secretary's office to talk about the school's account. As I walked in, a person appeared in my peripheral vision and I stopped instantly.

I turned around to see it was Crystina and a smile appeared on my face but when I saw her locking hands with a boy and smiling so widely at him, my heart squeezed and the smile slipped off my face.

My gaze dropped to their locked hands one more time and I couldn't help but glare at them. When I looked at her again, her eyes were on me. Anger flashed through my eyes as I saw fear flash through hers.

'Be nice, Luka!' Maxim demanded and I scowled.

"Who's the boy?" I asked, interrupting the Principal who was busy explaining the school accounts to me.

"What boy?" She asked as she moved closer, standing beside me. I pointed to the kid with Crystina.

"That should be Nico, Nicolas Preston,"

"I don't want to see him in this school next time, Principal," I commanded.

"Alpha Luke, with all due..."

"If I come here next time and I see him, I'll make sure to cut off the school's funding and stop any donations that I'd planned,"

She opened her mouth to say something but stopped and smacked her lips. She stared at me for a few seconds, shook her head, and replied reluctantly, "Yes, Alpha,"

"That's much better," I smirked.

"As for her..." I pointed to Crystina. "I'll take care of all her school expenses now that I'm back. If there's anything she needs, I'll pay for it," I informed her as I gave her one final look. She was hugging the boy and I frowned.

Even my wolf wasn't comfortable with such a position. I could hear Maxim growling and asking me to charge toward the boy and tear him into pieces but I stopped, trying not to do anything stupid within the school premises.

"That's nice of you, Alpha. You know nobody expected you to bring that girl into the Pack and still take care of her expenses. You're such a nice and amazing Alpha. You have a forgiving heart and that's the best thing anyone can have," She went on and on about how good I was as a person but I didn't care, that wasn't the matter that was on my mind, all I was thinking of was how to make Crystina know the consequences of her action.

"I'll make sure you pay for that, Crystina, enjoy it while it lasts,"
