Chapter 5 : Not Going Home

"Huaiyan, where were you at the banquet last night? I was looking for you everywhere." Jiang Yi held a bottle of wine and looked at Song Huaiyan, who was sitting on the sofa with a sullen face. Song Huaiyan picked up a bottle of wine from the table. His fair, jade-like hands were in a tempting curve. He moistened his throat with a sip of wine and said, "I am married." Jiang Yi almost spat out the wine. He grew up with Song Huaiyan and knew he was by nature inclined to be emotionless.

Jiang Yi thought Song Huaiyan would be single forever but he never expected that Song Huaiyan would get married before him. "When?" Jiang Yi had a whole new set of questions. It was like a pet that he had raised for so many years abandoned him at last. Before Song Huaiyan could answer, Jiang Yi continued, "When did you have a girlfriend? I never heard a word of this." Song Huaiyan was also stunned by Jiang Yi's question, then his lips were turned up just a little bit. Jiang Yi was also surprised because Song Huaiyan rarely smiled. "I didn't have a girlfriend. It's just a... flash marriage?" Song Huaiyan raised his brown eyes and looked at Jiang Yi, his lazy eyes filled with fatigue. Jiang Yi's eyes were wide open. To his surprise, Song Huaiyan would really have a flash marriage. He coughed, "Love at first sight...?" He really couldn't think of any reason that could make this emotionless man do such a thing. "No." This beautiful and slender man paused, his red lips glowing under the light, and then continued, "I was drugged." "Hmm? Hmm? What the...," Jiang Yi stood up in shock and blurted, "Who dares to drug you?" "Wait, is it your wife who just got married with you? She forced you to marry her because you insulted her?" Jiang Yi had already pictured a scheme. Song Huaiyan looked up to him emtionlessly and said, "No." Jiang Yi couldn't expect anyone else to be so bold. "Who is that then?" "Assistant Lin," Jiang Yi regretted after hearing the answer because it was he who introduced this person to Song Huaiyan. Song Huaiyan looked at Jiang Yi and Jiang Yi felt that he was about to be melted by the sight of Song Huaiyan. Suddenly, Song Huaiyan took a sip of wine, "Lin Jiangqiong. She is the granddaughter of Master Lin." Master Lin was Song Huaiyan's mentor. "Mhm." Song Huaiyan took another sip of wine, his head down and others couldn't tell what he was thinking about. --- "Madame, the young master just called to say that he has to work overtime tonight and won't come back." Gu Mian sat in the living room, watching TV while eating apples after finishing her meal. And to maintain the right image of the original host, she didn't sit cross-legged. Hearing the words, Gu Mian's eyes brightened and she smiled at Auntie Li, "Okay, I got it." Auntie Li knew that the young master was emotionless. When she saw the sweet young lady smiling, she felt that it was wrong of the young master to leave such a good girl at home alone. She considered that as a forced smile and empathised with Gu Mian, so she looked at Gu Mian gently, "Have an early night." "Okay." Gu Mian was actually overjoyed. She hoped that Song Huaiyan had better stay overtime every night and never come back. Besides, he could raise a child outside with a mistress. Then she would be a figurehead as his wife. That way, she could focus on making troubles. When all was done, she could leave at once. Gu Mian planned for her future. She would deal with her stepmother first, then her hypocritical sister, and then her dad who sold her for his own fortune. It was long-term work and she decided to have a bit of fun in this world first. --- "Cough..." Song Huaiyan suddenly coughed, put the phone in his pocket and then touched his high nose. "You got a cold? Huaiyan?" Jiang Yi and Song Huaiyan stood on the side of the road. It was a windy day and Song Huaiyan's delicate face went a little red. Song Huaiyan frowned, shook his head gently and got into the car. "Do you mean it that you stay at my place tonight?" Jiang Yi glanced at Song Huaiyan, wondering what was in his mind. This emotionless man nodded and glanced out of the window. The lights shed on his face with charming curves.
