Chapter 5 First Kiss

I started to walk toward my apartment and stumbled. Luca was there quickly to catch me before I fell.

"Except for this, I can't just let you fall." he said, and we both started laughing.

"This way." I said as I led him to my apartment.

When we reached the door, he helped me get my keys out of my purse and unlocked the door. I walked in and turned around to look at him.

"Have a good night, Victoria." he said as he turned to walk away.

Before he could leave, I grabbed his shirt and pulled him close to me.

"I promised I would not touch you. I can't break it." he said.

"I never promised that I wouldn't touch you." I said as I leaned in and kissed him.

My heart was pounding out of my chest. I was never this forward with anyone, especially not someone who is famous. It must have been the wine or maybe it was the adrenaline I felt when I touched him. I didn't want it to stop but I pushed him away.

"Goodnight, Mr. Hayes." I said as I shut the door.

I leaned against the door to catch my balance after I shut it. Tonight, was unreal. I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Luca Hayes, one of the most attractive and popular actors at the moment took me out on a date and kissed me. It was like a fairy tale.

I took a long, hot bath to help calm myself and bring me down from this high I was on. It was also a great way to sober up. I really did not want to be hungover tomorrow. After all, it was only the beginning of the week.

I laid my head down when I heard my phone beep. I picked it up from my nightstand and checked who it was. The only person I could think of would be Charles.

Me {How did you get my number?}

Luca {Really? I compliment you and you ask how I got your number, like it would be hard for me?}

Me {Sorry, you are right. Thank you for tonight. I haven't had that much fun, in, well never.}

Luca {Good, because that was nothing. It will only get better.}

I fell asleep smiling.

The next morning, I woke up to the sun shining brightly through the window. My head was pounding and needed some water really bad. Shoot, what time is it? It was already 8am and I needed to be at work in an hour.

I hopped out of bed so quickly and it made my head hurt worse. I got dressed and as I went to run out the front door, I remembered that my car was still at the office. This day is starting off horribly.

I picked up my phone to call an uber and a message popped up.

Luca {Your knight in shining armor is here to take you to work.}

The whole night flashed before my eyes and my face instantly turned bright red. I was so embarrassed and didn't want to face him, but I really needed the ride to work. I needed to face it sooner or later so I might as well do it now.

Me {I will be right down.}

I glanced one more time in the mirror to make sure I looked presentable. Here goes nothing.

As I walked down the stairs, I could see him leaning against his car looking up at me. It would be hard for any woman to not find him irresistible.

"How are you feeling?" he asked as I got closer.

"Not the best." I said with a smile.

He opened the door for me, and I got in.

"I am sorry for last night. I don't drink very often, and I wasn't myself." I said.

"You have nothing to apologize for. You can take control and kiss me like that any time you wish." he said as he glanced at me.

"I am not apologizing for doing it but rather apologizing because I didn't mean to lead you on like that." I said.

He seemed confused and asked "Is this your way of telling me you aren't interested in me?"

"I just don't think I can be what you need." I said.

"And what is that?" he asked.

"I think you know by now that I am somewhat of a loner. I don't have family or friends here really. I haven't really dated in the past and I would want to take things slow. I don't expect you to wait around for me to be ready." I said.

"What makes you think I can't wait until you are ready?" he asked.

"I am not stupid Luca. You could get any woman, any time you want. You don't need to waste your time with me." I said.

"Have you ever thought that maybe what I want is deeper than just sex?" he asked.

He caught me off guard. I never thought he would want anything more than just sex.

"I am kind of hurt that that is all you thought I wanted." He said.

"I am sorry. You were just very forward and I just thought..." he cut me off before I could finish.

"Technically, you were very forward too." He said.

"You are right but that is why I wanted to clarify that I am not normally like that. I don't want to give you the wrong impression." I said.

"You are right. I could get any woman I want. But I want something more. I want something real. I felt that you were that something. Maybe I was wrong." He said.

"Why do you think you were wrong?" I asked.

"Because you are giving up so easily." He said.

"I am not giving up. I just assumed sex was all you wanted from me and that was something I couldn't give you. Not yet anyways." I said.

"Not yet?" he asked with a smirk.

"Oh my god. No, that was not what I meant. I just meant I am not ready to give that up yet to anyone. I just need to stop talking." I said.

"I understand. You are a virgin and you want it to be special. Right? Do you think I can't be that special someone" he asked.

He saw right through me and knew I had never been with a man before. I didn't want to admit it because I didn't want to make it a big deal.

"This is all just a lot to take in." I said.
