Chapter 4 Came At Midnight

Gwenda nodded absentmindedly.

"Get out!" Jeremy shouted.

Gwenda recoiled in shock.

Blaine stood beside them, rubbing his forehead.

Dealing with Jeremy and Angela was an impossible task.

Before Blaine could figure out how to calm down Jeremy, Angela had worsened the situation.

He didn't know what to do.

Gwenda trembled in fear as she looked at Blaine for help.

"Are you Mr. Carson's secretary or Miss Wallace's secretary?" asked Blaine. "You'll do whatever she asks you to do without thinking? Just go home."

Gwenda's heart sank. Although she didn't want to give up this opportunity, her job was more important. Therefore, she reluctantly left.

Blaine examined Jeremy's face and asked, "Mr. Carson, shall I drive you home?"

However, Jeremy didn't bother to even look at him.

Meantime, Angela was fully awake after the phone call. She got up and ordered room service.

She had been having hunger pangs lately but would feel sick after only a few bites.

Over the years, Angela's association with Jeremy had introduced her to people in varying fields.

That morning, Angela had contacted the agency and sold her house, car, and bags from famous brands. Considering the price of the products was lower than the market price, the agency contacted Angela now and informed her that many products were already sold.

Moreover, the agency had found a potential client for the villa she lived in with Jeremy and asked her to negotiate with the buyer tomorrow.

Just as Angela replied to the messages, she heard a knock at the door.

"That was quick!" Angela frowned in confusion, thinking it was the room service she ordered.

"Coming," she shouted, walking over to the door. However, there was no one outside.

Angela turned around to close the door. However, someone grasped her wrist and yanked her hard.

Angela yelped in shock as she was dragged outside.

Her body collided against a strong torso.

A familiar scent filled her nostrils as she looked up in fear. Angela could only see the man's chin.

The next moment, he carried her in his arms and took her back into her room.

The man kicked the door shut and pressed her against it.

Before Angela could react, he forcibly kissed her.

The stench of alcohol made her sick.

Angela slapped him across his face.

The man immediately stepped back and looked down at her with an incomprehensible expression.

Angela gasped.

The coldness of his gaze seemed to freeze her.

She was both angry and afraid.

Angela wasn't surprised that Jeremy had found out where she was staying.

But she didn't expect him to come and see her.

Her body tensed. Angela glared at him. "Mr. Carson, it's inappropriate for you to break into a single woman's room at midnight and forcibly kiss her."

Jeremy knitted his brows and examined her face.

After a long while, he asked, "Are you angry?"

Jeremy had been with Angela for four years and had seen her lose her cool only a few times.

However, her reaction now seemed new and interesting to him.

"Any woman would get angry if a stranger forcibly kisses her." Angela took deep breaths to calm down and said, "Mr. Carson, as per your wishes, I've signed the agreement. As a businessman, you should know the importance of keeping your word."

"Do you consider the man you've slept with every day a stranger?" Jeremy angrily grasped her chin. "Miss Wallace, I never knew you were too snarky and sharp-tongued."

Angela smiled at him. "I'm sorry. I'm like a hedgehog."

After all, she had to defend herself from danger.

Jeremy narrowed his eyes and said, "You immediately handed the resignation letter after signing the agreement. You've also sold real estate properties. It looks like you've plotted against me the whole time."

Angela understood Jeremy had found out that she had sold the house.

However, she didn't expect him to pay attention to all these.

Angela knew Jeremy would never change his mind. He had always been a decisive man.

Angela believed Jeremy only came back because he was surprised and even a little pissed that she just walked away instead of crawling back and begging for mercy.

Jeremy seldom got emotional because of her. Therefore, Angela smirked at him. "Mr. Carson, you don't have to feel ashamed. Irrespective of what happened, you were the one who dumped me."

She clenched her fists as her body tensed up again.

Angela lowered her eyes and looked away from him.

"Mr. Carson, it's been four years. You are tired of me, and so am I. You are indeed good at sex. But people always like new things in life, and want to be with new people. People will eventually get tired of things regardless of how amazing they are. I'm not a young girl anymore. Isn't it normal for me to sell these things, return to my hometown, and find someone to get married?"
