Chapter 5 Untitled

Half of it. I'm human but I also take other forms. It's in my bloodline. So,

we also have our mates. Maybe you are a woman for me. I have never been

pursued by any woman like that before. I didn't think it was possible. And on the

dance floor, it was crazy. I had to use all my willpower not to take you there.'

Sylvia quickly rejected the idea of her being his mate. 'I think it was the

drink that made me do it. I was drunk. I can't be your mate. I...I already have a

boyfriend.'

He glared at her dangerously. 'You have a man? Then what did you do

with me last night?' 'I told you I wasn't in my right senses.'

'Where is

he?' 'Who?'

Your man?'

Oh my God, Sylvia thought, he might harm John. Though she hated her ex

now, she didn't want him torn to pieces. 'I...I don't know. Could you please put

on some clothes.'

'I like it like this. Don't act prudishly my dear, you were ready to tear the

clothes off my body last night.

She sniffed, feeling miserably low. She really messed up last night, she

thought.

He looked at her for a moment then reached for her, brushed his fingers

across her face. 'You are beautiful though. Stubborn or stupid, but you look

pretty.'

She let him stroke her face instead of shrinking away from him. His fingers

felt sensual on her skin, electrifying. 'I enjoyed the kiss last night.' He leaned

forward and kissed her, she didn't respond at first, his tongue was warm against

her lips, prodding and pried it open. Her tongue suddenly met his. There the kiss

became stronger. He sucked at her lips, his hand bracketing her face, his warm

breath fanning her face. Then she was on her back on the bed and he was on top

of her. His mouth and hands were everywhere on her body. She gave in

completely despite a scream in her head telling her to stop, she allowed him

without knowing why. She just wanted to be touched by him. The yearning

inside her blew out of proportion within a few seconds and she was moaning

softly, her arms spread out on the bed as well as her legs, granting him a free

takeover. A blast of a car horn outside stopped him from thrusting into her. He

groaned angrily and rolled off her. She quickly gathered herself together,

ashamed of her shameless behaviour again, and also thankful that she didn't go

further with him. Not after what she knew about him. It was just like mating

with a beast.

He left the room and returned later, wet and rubbing his skin with a towel.

'I just had my bath. I suggest you do the same.' He opened a wardrobe and

tossed her a shirt and a dry towel. 'The bathroom is the door facing this room.'

She obeyed, avoiding his eyes. She managed to have a bath with her numb

hands and tormented mind. She wore back her gown and put on the shirt Darsh

gave her on top of it. She returned to the room where he was and met him all

dressed up in dark jeans and black shirt, thick boots laced. Much as she was

terrified of him, she still found him attractive. She just couldn't help wanting him

and she hated herself for it. Maybe something was wrong with her. John's

betrayal must have broken something inside her. She couldn't be that

self-destructive if she was well.

Are you alright?' He asked her. 'You've been staring at me as if you want to

have me for breakfast. Are you hungry? There is meat in the fridge.'

She shuddered. 'Human meat?' He gave her a look. 'No. Beef.'

'I'm not hungry. I just want to go home.

He pulled out a duffel bag from the wardrobe.

'Let's go.' 'Where are we going?

He pulled out a duffel bag from the wardrobe.

'Let's go.' 'Where are we going?'

Dugu, North-East.'

'What? I can't go to North-East with you. I have a job! I have

a family here.' 'But you want to live? Right?'

She couldn't answer because he had left the room carrying his bag and she

ran after him. A dusty Jeep was parked outside. Two huge men sat in the front.

They both glared at Sylvia as if to disintegrate her that instant. They said nothing

to her but murmured greetings with Darsh.

Darsh dumped his bag in the booth and opened the back door for Sylvia.

She hesitated, realizing those were the cousins who might kill her if she was

alone. Darsh nudged her in. She resigned to fate and climbed into the vehicle,

Darsh sat beside her.

One of the cousins, the one behind the wheel, turned his head slightly and

spoke to Darsh in a low icy tone. 'You always do your own thing, right? Always

your way.'

Must you bring the girl along?' The other one sneered.

Darsh held Sylvia's arm. 'She is with me now. Sylvia, meet Bayy,' he

pointed at the driver. 'And Faka,' he pointed a thumb at the other one. 'They are

my cousins.'

'G...good morning.' She whispered.

They grunted, frowning at her from the rearview mirror. She and bandits still invaded the town and the neighbouring villages now

and then. But Dugu? She never heard of the town or village until this morning.

The soldier slapped the body of the jeep. 'Out all of you.
