Chapter 3 First Kiss

Could external factors come between two young lovers, let's find out what would happen to these love birds as we progress!!

I went to my usual hospital ward round check and bumped into one of the newly employed house officers.

"Good morning Dr. Kamara." Dave greeted me with smiles.

" Morning Dr. Dave, you again?" I responded.

Dr. David popularly called Dave who has been crushing on me on his first sight of me when we met during one of our round sections.

As we both walked along the accident and emergency department,

" Oh kamara, it is nice to bump into you again, I am glad we did as I haven't stopped thinking about you."

Noises!

Ambulance alarm kept disturbing my ears, it was damn too much to bear.

" Had lunch?" I asked.

" Of Course yes I'm famished as well, "

"Can we have lunch together?" He asked

" Right away."

We got to the nearby eatery in the hospital premises, unfortunately they didn't even have what I love to eat, but I just have to settle for what was available right! I was damn hungry.

" I would love to get to know you more Kamara."

" But Dr. Dave________

" No but kamara, yeah you will not regret our friendship."

While I grabbed a glass of water , he held my hand, unfortunately our eyes locked together.

" Eehmm_____."

" You don't have to say anything now." He said softly.

At this point I felt I should give the friendship a chance as I have never been friends with the opposite sex apart from Cypril. I told myself I am a mature lady now, I should be able to set boundaries and stand strongly on ground over my words.

" Can I have your contact?"

" Sure!"

" Thanks for having lunch with me."he smiled.

At exactly 3: pm on Sunday.

Bing Bing Bing!!!!!

Phone rings.

"Who could be calling me now? I am trying to have some rest, I thought!

" Oh, Dr. Dave." Sigh

" Please, I will be at your place in 30 minutes time, choose your preferred location." He stated.

We agreed to use one of the fancy restaurants close to my house as I was scared of going far with him.

We set out on our first Date, He ordered prawn and coconut juice for himself.

" Pls order what you would like."

" Water is ok, thank you."

He made an angry face over my choice.

While we were having our conversation,it flowed smoothly as we discussed my exams and gave me advice on how to relate and manage with stubborn patients. This smooth conversation was paused and he looked directly into my face,tried to hold my hands but I was not just shy but uncomfortable, I quickly pulled out my hands from his.

" Pls you are making me feel uncomfortable."

" Am cool with just being normal friends, no feelings attached, Remember we both agreed on that?"

" Am sorry, if I made you feel that way, he began, 'I love you from the very first day I set my eyes on you, pls give us a chance."

"What!" I screamed

" I have a boyfriend, I can't cheat on him, you have to respect my decision or forget about our friendship."

" Is ok, I won't touch that topic again, I promise to respect the boundaries."

" Better." I said with smiles.

As I got home that day, I called Cypril to let him know of Dave as we literally told each other everything. He was cool and happy as I have a senior colleague as a friend, at least he could help me out with some assignments. I was happy he didn't take it the wrong way, he rather said I trust my woman.

Finally I consented to Cypril visiting me here in school as I really was curious to know what his parents opinion about our relationship would be. He was happy I did that. I was very enthusiastic as well as I will be physical with him after Five years.
