Chapter 3 I Am A Master Maid

"HOW was the meeting? Did you get the sympathy of the board members?"

Miguel's opening, his only friend.

Reyman's eyes widened and he stood up suddenly from his seat.

"Bro! When did you come?" Reyman stood up and greeted his friend Miguel.

"Hahaha. I just came home the other day bro. How are you? I heard you're getting married?" Miguel said laughing.

"Hahaha. You're just going to get a spy with your lying. That's not in my mind yet, bro. You? How are you? I heard you've gotten many women pregnant in the USA!" Reyman said.

"Hahaha. Your spy is good bro!" he said while sitting on the sofa and raised his foot.

"You're really crazy. Why did you think of going home? I thought you were completely addicted to your vice."

"Hey! Bro, I had no intention of going home, but this dad is trying to send me home, saying he will introduce me to the girl I'm going to marry. It's funny, man, arranged marriage is a trend here in the Philippines. I thought Only Chinese do that!" Miguel promised.

"Really? You won't be able to do that anymore bro?" Reyman joked with Miguel.

"It depends. It depends if the girl I'm going to marry is beautiful." Miguel laughed at the same time.

"Damn head! What did you get out of your bragging, bro? You won't make any money from that!" Reyman promised.

"I'll put the question back to you bro, what will you gain from your business? Will it make you love and give you children?" said Miguel to Reyman.

"Sorry bro, I don't have the right girl to spend all my hard work on."

"Hahaha. That's what I like about you! That's why you're my only friend, because out of all my friends, you're the only one who's sane. Why don't you just become a priest bro? You look better there than here." Miguel joked.

"Crazy head! And if I kill you now, will I still be accepted in the church?" The friends laughed together.

"Bro, we were kids when we were kids. We were always together. We would run away to play with other kids. Then we would come home with a smile on our faces," Miguel told Reyman.

"Hahaha. Yes bro, because when we lose we don't give in and we just challenge them to a fight." Reyman laughed again.

"You're right, bro, it's a good thing we're handsome. Our handsome man hasn't diminished, even if we're all bruised on the face."

"Alright, let's praise ourselves bro. There's only two of us here!" Reyman said to Miguel.

"What else are we going to do here? We probably won't be fooled. Hahaha. Let's go outside bro, let's drink!"

Reyman was stunned. He still has a lot of work to finish. Miguel's arrival was sudden.

"Hey! Dude, don't tell me you're going to say no? You're all work so you don't have chiks!"

Miguel stood up and pulled Reyman by the arm. You didn't do anything but follow. In his mind, his friend would invite him only once. And it just came home so it's hard to deny.

He and Miguel went to their favorite bar. They used to drink there when he was in college. He continued his studies in the USA, which is why he only goes home every vacation. He is a BSBA graduate in the US, which is why he is good at business. He also manages his father's company, which is why his life in America is so good.

Looking at the status of the two of them, Miguel is really alone. Because he knew more than her, they grew up together but when they went to college, they were separated.

"So who's the unlucky girl you're going to marry bro?" Reyman asked curiously.

"Hahaha. I haven't met her yet, bro. But dad says she's rich and beautiful. You know that when she's beautiful, my knees really get weak, hahaha."

"Right now I'm going to pray for him bro," said Reyman.

"You're crazy, bro, it's easy for me to fall in love with a woman. Especially when she's beautiful. Even her name makes me a mystery, what else can I do personally?"

"That's what I'm telling you! Why? What's his name bro?" Reyman asked again.

"Fara Fabolosa bro,"

Reyman thought of the name his friend mentioned. "Fara? His name is quite familiar to me bro. I can't remember where I heard his name."

"Don't think about it bro, just think about when you're going to get married. I'll be looking forward to that bro!" Before raising the beer bottle. "Cheers!"

"Just bro, when I get married you'll be the best man," Miguel said while walking on Reyman's shoulder.

"No problem bro," Reyman replied.

"How are you and Uncle Philip doing?" asked Miguel.

Reyman was silent at Miguel's question. How can he answer his friend's question if all he can remember is the father he hates.

Reyman's family used to live well. But when he entered Third Year High School, all his dreams disappeared. His dad was addicted to vice and the business they lived on went under. Reyman stopped studying for a year. That's why he squealed in anger at his father. It thought of nothing but itself. It was pure arrogance that knew what to do and didn't even consider his family. At the same time, she was still a girl, so her mommy and daddy separated. He was left alone in their big house. Because the Mommy left to have a bad time, while her daddy continued to cheat and let his girl live. Reyman found out that their house is mortgaged and that is what his daddy is using to continue his vice and womanizing. That's why Reyman thought of becoming a working student. Because Reyman is strategic, he was educated when he became his boss while working in a call center. Reyman coped with everything until he finished school. He even managed to finish college. And that's when everything changed in Reyman's life. Their mortgaged house was redeemed by Reyman, after a few years he saved money and was able to restore his father's old business.

Now he is alone at home. Since his father started to forget his responsibility, he also forgot that he had a father. One day someone knocked on his house. He scolded his father. So his memories of the past seem to return.

"What are you doing here?" Reyman asked his father.

"Son..." his father said hoarsely and almost faintly.

"I don't have a father like you! Get out! Didn't you abandon me? Your face is too thick to face me. Get out!" Reyman's rejection of his father.
