Chapter 5 Single Daddy

"Just kidding. I'm just kidding Alice.. You know Alice I can't believe you're a nanny. Well, maybe Kenly hasn't noticed you yet. I will him when I'm done checking on his son.

"Alright Doc, thanks."

Aiza and I said goodbye, I was nervous about what Doc said. It's good and our boss has no idea what I look like. I'm afraid that he might recognize me and suddenly fire me.

BEFORE we went home, I made my promise to Kenny that we would buy him a balloon. The child was very happy and had a great time playing.

"Look at this Kenny or, with all the toys in his room, only a wolf will make him happy." Aiza said to me.

"You know children of that age, even small things are big for them. It's better to reduce Kenny's use of tablets because he might end up being exposed to gadgets all the time.

"That's the thing I hate, because the first maid I replaced was lazy. Instead of taking care of Kenny, he is constantly calling his boyfriend Swanget on his cell phone. He is very happy when Kenny is free to use the tablet because he spends more time flirting. So this is the result of what that woman did." Aiza explained to me.

"That's okay. Kenny is still young and has a lot to learn. He will also forget about touching the gadget." I boldly told Aiza. This is my motivation, to keep Kenny away from the gadget that could harm him. I will consider Kenny like a brother like my brothers left in Samar. How are they? I hope they are in good condition.

Because you always float, I'll call you Alice in the wonderland. It's like you're always traveling in the air, you know that's why I can't always reach you." Aiza said to me.

"I just miss my brothers. It's only now that I've been away from them.

"Oh, I don't have a cellphone. Cellphones are a bit expensive for us, so we don't buy anymore.

A few minutes later, Aiza said goodbye to all of us. Everyone was a bit sad, apart from the two maids that I have now met. Jane and Karen seem to be the opposite of Aiza. Maybe they just don't know how to welcome a new housemate. It's okay because my job is to take care of Kenny, not to make friends with them that only the two of them understand each other. Fortunately, the cctv of the kitchen and the back of the house towards the swimming pool is broken. That's what Ate Ester had fixed yesterday but it wasn't finished because there were parts to be replaced so the cctv was fixed the next day. There is only one thing I will avoid now, it is to face Sir Kinly. But how come our paths won't cross and I'm the sole guardian of his son. It is impossible for my boss and I not to meet.

I just sighed at the thought. I just shrugged it all off. Lord will take care of me.

I think Kenny got a little tired after chasing the balloon we bought. So he immediately fell into a deep sleep. I fixed his room while he was sleeping. Kenny has a lot of stuff. How can he play all this? But just like my siblings, they will definitely be happy and never get tired of playing it. They will not stop until the toy is torn to pieces. I remember my youngest brother Jerick, I bought him a toy truck, but after a few hours the wheels came off immediately. That's how cheap the things that can be bought in our market.

I was busy cleaning Kenny's room, I didn't realize the time, it was past twelve noon. I won't wake Kenny up first and he might just cry when he wakes up, so I'll just go downstairs so I can eat first. In the kitchen I found Jane and Karen eating. The two were still laughing when I arrived, but suddenly fell silent when they saw me enter the kitchen. They didn't seem to want me to hear what they were talking about so the two kept quiet. And since I'm not that thick-faced to feel close to them, I just quietly took the food. And sat in another chair near Karen's chair. There is also a dining table because the kitchen is where we maids eat. And the guests and the boss are in the large dinning area off the kitchen.

I don't understand if it's me or them who has the problem, because they don't talk to me either. Anyway, I will be the only one with them, because I am the new assistant.

"Is your name Jane and you are Karen?" I asked the two.

"Yes, I'm Jane and this is my best friend Karen. We've been here for a long time, Kenny has been a babysitter for a while and we're still here. Is it your first time to take care of a child? Because the others are good at first, but after a few days or months, they also leave." Jane said to me.
