Chapter 6 Engagement Party, Aren't You Going

Jackson came up and smacked his lips, "No way, Chad, you found the needle in the ocean?"

The screen displayed a person in the uniform of cleaners. She was coming out of a fast-food restaurant.

Wearing a hat, she kept her head low but warily looked up at the surveillance monitor when she crossed the street.

Chad's eyes happened to capture it.

"I need all the surveillance footage in this area!"

Vicky disappeared in an alley three blocks away. There was no surveillance there. How did she come out of this place?

Chad doubted if he had found the wrong person!

If he were not so familiar with Vicky, her figure, and behavior, he would most likely have found the wrong person!

They had all the footage reviewed.

Jackson gasped in admiration, "Brilliant, absolutely brilliant! She is smarter than a veteran detective!"

On the screen, Vickie got out of the taxi, bought a box of paper clips from a convenience store, turned into an alley without surveillance, and then disappeared.

When she showed up again, she was in a McDonald's uniform.

"Our patrols went to the fast-food store. There is an underground mall connected with the store. I think she took the underground route. Our men checked the store and found the door of their storage room open. Probably, she used the paper clips to pick the lock. One set of their cleaner's uniforms is missing, but she left several hundred yuan as compensation."

After listening to the report, Chad frowned slightly and mused.

Why did Vicky go there? She never liked that kind of messy place.

"That is the old city with many forks. Those unfamiliar with the roads will easily get lost. Chad, are you sure that's Vicky? Vicky is a pampered and tender lady. I don't think she would go to that kind of place." Jackson was also confused.

"People change." Chad asserted, "Since we've got a clue, we'll soon find her!"

"Well, Mr. Longman, we need a cause to search for someone. May I ask who the lady is..." The chief of the police station ventured to ask.

"A burglar! Are you just sitting by? I lost my wallet and bank cards. This woman is a thief. Shouldn't you arrest her? You're failing the people by neglecting your duty..."

"Mr. Longman, don't worry, I'll take care of it right away." The chief ran off.

"People's representative, the police will definitely find her. Now, aren't you getting ready?" Jackson teased.

"Ready for what?"

"There is a happy event hosted by your family. An engagement party, aren't you going?"

"None of my business!"

Chad sneered and turned to leave.

Jackson shouted from behind, "I heard that the other party is the second daughter of the Muller family. The debutante is as pretty as a fairy. Aren't you going for a look?"

Chad sneered, "Muller family? Not worth it!"

"You can't say that. Though not as powerful as your family, the Muller family is prestigious in Junction City. If your nephew marries her and has a son, maybe the old man will be delighted and let him inherit his legacy."

While muttering, Jackson observed the expression on Chad's face.

Chad simply sneered, "Evonne looks down on the Mullers. Even if Miss Muller is a fairy, she will not marry into our family. Not her, not her father!"

"This is pretty hardcore. Then again, what if she looks gorgeous and your nephew loves her more than anything else?"

Jackson smiled teasingly, "What if she is prettier than Vicky?"

Chad didn't speak but glanced at Jackson coldly.

The latter immediately waved his hand, "I didn't say anything. Miss Muller is ugly, okay? I was talking nonsense and should be slapped!"

Chad snapped his gaze back, but a strange glint flashed across his eyes.

Vicky, since you dared to come back, I would not let you go again...
