Chapter 10 Romantic Proposal, Forever Love

Jennifer was unwilling to move onward, but Ethan directly carried her in his arms, thus cutting off her retreat.

"Hey... Ethan, put me down, I don't want to go there." She protested.

Ethan lowered his head, muffled her following speech with a kiss, and then spoke insatiably, "Struggle as you like if you want more kisses!"

She quieted down grudgingly, "Ethan, this forest is chilly, dark, and damp. Don't you find it eerie?"

... Ethan didn't answer but continued his way forward.

Jennifer had to change her tactics, "You know, I never liked watching horror movies since I was a kid. Could you stop?"

Ethan halted his steps, stared at her for a long time, and then replied, "It may be a romance movie."

A romance movie? Seriously?

Had he prepared... another surprise in this forest?

Right after the idea crossed her mind... she was dazed by the brilliance ahead.

The dark forest was suddenly lit up by colorful lights that twinkled like stars. On such a night, the scene looked stunning.

Noticing her amazement and delight, Ethan curled up his lips to smile.

"There's more ahead!" He carried her to move forward.

She was surprised just now and... shocked by the following scene.

In front of her stood a big, old tree hanging with silvery bottles from almost all its branches. They glittered and illuminated the clearing.

"What is inside those bottles..." Jennifer covered her mouth in disbelief and asked in a shaky voice.

Ethan observed her every expression, pressed his forehead against hers, and answered in a seductive voice, "Jennifer, no doubt about it. Those are 1,314 fireflies in each of the 5,200 bottles."

In their culture, everyone knew the meaning when the two sets of numbers were combined. It was 'I love you forever!'

What a touching commitment!

Jennifer got out of his arms when all the bottles were opened at the same time. In an instant, those fireflies flew out and lit up the entire mysterious forest.

"So many fireflies!" In the floor-length wedding dress, Jennifer chased after the dancing fireflies merrily.

"So beautiful!" Jennifer opened her arms and spun freely.

At that moment, she was an elf, a forest princess, and his princess!

Ethan walked to her gracefully and ardently before kneeling on one knee, "Jennifer, you said once there was a firefly show, you would grant me one wish. Marry me, be my wife, and stay with me forever."

Following his voice, two large characters lit up before her eyes, 'Marry Me'!

Ethan held her hand, placed it on his lips, and kissed gently.

For a long time... Jennifer remained silent.

Her feelings were hard to describe.

She dreamed about such a proposal a million times. It was romantic and different. Everything here was like a dream coming true.

But why... wasn't she as happy as she thought?
