Chapter 5 A Grievously Sinful Woman

In the end, the look in the child's eyes when he looked at Liz was filled with disappointment and coldness.

Greg named the baby Eddie, short for Ed, but Liz always referred to him as "that kid" and never called out to him by his name.

Shaking her head, Liz tried to flash a cheerful smile.

"You named our baby Ed, didn't you?"

Greg, however, could not reveal a smile but gave the woman a profound glance.

"Eddie's gone to the countryside with his grandfather to stay at the old mansion for a period before entering kindergarten."

"Oh."

Liz touched her nose with embarrassment.

In the blink of an eye, the kid was about to go to kindergarten.

In the previous life, Liz did not care about the kid in the least. It was fair that God let such a heartless mother die in an accident. In this life, Liz was determined to make it up to her child.

Greg kept staring at her face.

On that exquisite little face, in addition to haggardness after waking up from a coma, its primary emotion changed back and forth between thrill and distress, and the eyes were shining gorgeously.

The man could not see through Liz's real thoughts.

She seemed to have become another woman after waking up from the coma. However, he was not clear about her intentions or motives, and nor did he know whether she was sincere or not.

With a weary sigh, Greg said, "Liz, it doesn't matter how you want to lie to me, but Eddie is just a three-year-old. If you don't love him, don't play with his feelings."

Liz was stunned, her face turning pale.

She bit her bottom lip without knowing what to say.

Her heart was filled with frustration and helplessness.

She used to be a grievously, sinful woman. Over the last eight years, she had broken Greg's heart countless times.

How could some simple words change his impression of her?

As Liz fell silent, Greg stood up and turned around to leave.

Liz jumped out of bed.

Then, she rushed over to hug him from behind.

"Where are you going? Don't leave!"

Greg stiffened all over and bowed his head. It seemed that the woman was using all her strength to stop him from leaving as her slim arms were trembling.

His heart shuddered as well. Still, he managed to keep his tone of voice calm. "I'm going back to the office."

"Oh."

Liz frowned, realizing that she was going too far. She took her arms of the man, unnaturally scratching her nose. "Greg, I know you probably won't believe anything I say. But please give me time, and I'll prove it to you."

The man before her did not turn around.

Liz anxiously reached out to pluck at Greg's shoulders, forcing him to look at her.

"I mean what I said. I really want to lead a happy life with you and Ed. He's our baby, and I'll love him tenderly."

"I see."

Greg's voice became even colder.

He lowered his eyes at Liz's bare feet on the floor, then frowned.

Her clothes were still wet, and she stood on the cold floor barefoot. Did she want to get sick?

"Get into bed."

Liz could not care less about that but continued expressing her thoughts by saying, "Greg, listen to me..."

Before the rest of her words were out of her mouth, she was picked up in the air, thrown back onto the bed, and wrapped by the covers.

Liz sat up in the bed, biting her bottom lip as she watched Greg calmly turn to walk out.

Then, she dejectedly lay on the bed and stared at the ceiling for a moment.

She was talking to herself.

She persuaded herself to be patient as haste made waste.

How could the heart that became broken bit by bit over the eight years be repaired within a day?

She was sure Greg was in deep love with her. Thus, as long as she firmly grasped him, they would very likely live to old age in conjugal bliss.

She had to take it easy and work out one thing at a time.

Currently, she decided that she had to prioritize the problem relating to her father.

Without the least delay, Liz jumped out of bed.
