Chapter 6 My Beautiful Creation

Marina's POV

"Someday, I'm going to free us from this hell. I'll take down Heg and rub his blood in the face of all Blue moon pack members"........ I watched as a bitter smile embraced Stacy's lips after talking about what she'd do to the leader of Blue moon pack, Heg.

"And the devil boss?" Isy had asked, obviously referring to D boss as devil boss.

I remember the look on Stacy's face and how she held her fist by her side. How those words came out of her mouth, I do remember.

"I'll make her wish for redemption, but she'll never get one."

If there was one thing Stacy had in common with D boss, it's her fearlessness. I could never be like her. I would not major up to her even if I dared.

And Isy? How she changed over the years, if there was a miracle that ever existed, Isy is that miracle. But me? I was never ready for anything. I was scared of changes. I wanted so badly to survive that I ended up not living at all.

My eyes opened slowly to a thick darkness that seemed to have been waiting for me. I shut my eyes immediately - even the darkness felt too bright for my eyes.

I could hear footsteps and a voice saying that I was awake. Then I heard a flickering sound. A flash of light threatened to cut it's way through my eyelids and hurt my eyes.

"It's okay Syk! You can open those pretty eyes of yours." I opened my eyes to see a face hovering over me. It was Drexa, D boss.

I looked away from her. I hated that smile that was on her face.

"You seem to be healing quicker than I thought. That bitch sure did a number on you though. You'd be dead if I had not killed her." D boss said. My eyes shot wide opened at the last statement. Did she kill her? The female vampire presumed to be Condro's betrothed?

"She touched my baby!" D boss said as though she had read through me.

"Stacy's dead!" I muttered. My throat was dry and so I immediately started to cough. I needed water. But instead of water, the liquid D boss gave me tasted like copper. I spat it out, yelping.

She turned towards me giving me a glare.

"Drink it!" she said to me. It was an order. But I didn't want to. I hated the taste. It tasted like copper and a mix of something I could not fathom.

"Drink it now!"

This time eyes glowed like light bulbs. For the first time since I was brought to Drexa, I noticed her eyes were a mix of brown and gold. I never knew anyone with such eye colour before.

I took the mixture in one gulp. I was frightened by her. I felt really intimidated. But then, she smiled after I was done. She took the cup from me, and that was when I realised it was not the usual cups we drink from. It looked like bronze.

"You will feel better after you get some sleep," Like that had something to do with an enchantment, I could feel myself slipping off.

I stood like a statue as Isy and Linda dressed me up like a bride. Of course, I was going to be a bride, my enemy's bride.

Isy and I have never spoken since the incident that took Stacy's life. She never asked me anything. And she never mentioned Stacy to me. Nobody did. In fact, I was never let out of the chamber where I would lay like I was on my death bed until that very day when D boss said was the day I'd be tying bonds with Condro, the vampire I detested.

I wanted so bad to speak with Isy, but Linda was there. And when she finally left, I could not utter a word. It was like I was bound by an oath never to speak a word to anyone. I could not even say Isy's name.

"You look beautiful!" Isy said before walking out of the chamber. And as if in queue, D boss came in. She had a wry smile embracing her lips. She was dressed in a black flowing gown that embraced her tightly around her hips.

"I knew purple would look good on you!" she said to me. Then she pinched my chin and kissed my eyelid.

"My beautiful creation!" she muttered. I was confused as to what she meant. But I dared not ask her anything.

She took me by the hand and led me out of the chamber. But not before covering my face with the veil. I wonder why it had to be a black veil. But I guess it was not all that bad either.

I saw Isy, Milly, and the rest of the girls as Drexa led me out of the building down to the car waiting for us outside.

"Marina, I don't know what is going on. But Stacy found a way for us to communicate before she went missing. I hope to get to chat with you, but D boss placed a restriction not to come close to you."

I turned around to look at Isy. That was her voice, but...

I looked at Drexa who looked like she did not hear anything. I noticed the slight nod Isy gave me and immediately I knew there had been some kind of breakthrough.

I wished I could tell her what had happened to Stacy, but that was not the time. I crossed my two fingers and brought it out of the veil for her to see. It was a sign that we were going to work things out.

I did not try to communicate back by telepathy like she just did. I did not know how yet. Or perhaps, I was too frightened to try.

I got in the car and Drexa followed suit. And just like that, we left.
