Chapter 4 The marriage deal

"How could you keep giving him credit when he did not return even the initial amount?" Asher yelled at the manager who prayed for the earth to swallow him.

"Sir, he is an old customer of our club and till today, sooner or later he paid all his dues. I thought he would pay but I'm sorry I judged him wrong." The manager reduced his eyes to the floor in guiltiness.

"It is my dad's mistake that he employed inefficient staff like you who would introduce me to problems in spite of everything I do to bring up this firm. But I'm not as kind hearted as my father. Bring that scumbag here and do not show me your face again." Asher's voice reverberated the silent walls of his opulent office room making the manager shiver on his legs.

Without saying any further words, he ran out of the room to save his dear life from his strict boss leaving Gabriel at Asher's mercy.

Gabriel was now at Asher's feet, even ready to lick his shoes for a bottle of liquor. He was an old man, ugly with a bald head and fat belly as much the size of a seven month old pregnant woman. His clothes reeked of the smell of alcohol.

Asher abhorred his presence in his office. But he was a businessman and he needed to extract his dues, courtesy the club manager who did not do his duty properly. Studying him Asher could easily perceive the old hog was of no use to him. He could neither work nor pay him the two million dollars to the account which he drank and gambled. Such people only brought him more rage.

He got him beaten by his men black and blue after ordering them to remove his clothes. The gray beard was already half sedated. He did not feel much for the whips though his body was covered with bruises and also had nothing to pledge for the money he borrowed.

As Asher hit him repeatedly with his leg in the belly, he vomited blood. His face was covered with red marks.

Few years after marrying Madonna Gabriel's well flourished business began to see a slump. To forget and recompense the loss Gabriel slowly turned to a gambler. He went to the club and drank to the oblivion to forget his miseries.

The manager demanded money for the drinks he consumed but he did not have a penny to pay. He gambled and went more into debt.

The process went on for a week more. Every day Gabriel would promise the manager that he would get the money the next day. Since he is an old customer the manager would allow him drinks. But the process only repeated without payment of debts. As days passed the manager understood Gabriel was only telling him lies and he had neither the money nor the intention to pay.

The next day when he came to the club, the manager did not allow him to drink and straight away called his boss- Asher Rodriguez.

Gabriel was about to faint from the blows, when he remembered his offer to the manager the previous day. an evil smirk crossed his features.

He raised up his weak arm for Asher's attention. "Sir, would you like to consider my offer that the manager conveyed to you yesterday?" He asked in a meek voice but with a face which was highlighted with hope.

"What was it?" Asher had too many things in his mind and he had no time to use his brain for rediculous things.

"My daughter." There was a sadistic grin on his features. Asher looked at him like a man with two heads. Yesterday when the manager conveyed Gabriel's deal, he thought the man was drunk and was speaking nonsense.

"Yes sir, I want to offer you my daughter in lieu of the money I owe to you. And she is a virgin. You can have her as your whore for as many days as you want, until I clear my debt with you."

Asher heard earlier that addiction can make people fall to any extant and today he was seeing it live. He couldn't believe his own ears for a few seconds that a father can sell his own flesh for the sake of a few currency notes.

Asher thought for a while. There was pressure from his parents. Thankfully the offer from Gabriel came to be on time. He can have the girl with him for as long as he wants and divorce her when he could convince his parents to stay single.

He knew Gabriel had nothing with him to pay him back. The offer seems to be lucrative. He had seen Gabriel's daughter a few times at parties along with Madonna after he remarried. He recalled her as a very beautiful woman with pale skin and shining blue eyes.

However, this marriage would be only on paper and to show the world, his parents that he is now a happily married man.

As long as the girl is a major he wouldn't have any objection to marrying her and Gabriel had already confirmed to him that she had crossed her eighteenth year last month.

"Gabriel I'm going to come to your home tomorrow and pick my wife. Tell her to be ready." Asher told the half conscious man pulling him up through his hair.

He told his bodyguard to drag the man out when Asher got a call from his secretary. "Sir there is a fire break in our California branch because of the leakage of a gas cylinder. 5 casualties have been reported so far and 20 people are undergoing critical care treatment in the City hospital. We are lucky, it is night time. Else we would have had more human loss."

"Tell Roger to get the flight ready to fly to California immediately." Asher commanded his secretary and immediately walked to the parking lot of his parents house.

On the way to his helipad, he informed Gabriel he wouldn't be able to pick his daughter up tomorrow because of the fire break in one of his branches.
