Chapter 6 0005

A figure appeared, cladded with a long black robe, the figure turned around to reveal his wrinkled face, his hair of shoulder length and grey, slung across his shoulder was a black weaved bag.

"Humm" He hummed as he looked up at the clouds which were gathering up darkness in them, his wrinkled face was slowly turning into a frown when he heard whistling from afar.

"Woo hoo!" The feminine childish voice sounded.

Something speedy passed him, causing his hair to follow in the direction of the breeze gathered by that thing.

It stilled, a little girl in a long red robe with a hood over her head was standing on a Witcher broom, she pushed her hood back revealing her babyish rounded face, the broom which was some distance away from the floor slowly descended and finally, she got down from it, she snapped her fingers, the broom disappeared.

"Where is Master Gunner?" She asked her tone depicting the five years old she was.

Gunner who was standing some meters away from her, rolled his eyes and called "Rune?" She turned hearing the voice of her master.

"How early am I master?" She asked as she hurried towards him.

"Hmmm" He hummed softly as he looked down at her, she batted her lashes at him "Early enough to escape me smacking your head," He said with a frown.

"Yay!" She said excitedly, raising her little hands in the air, Gunner shook his head ... this apprentice of his will forever behave childishly.

"Off we go," She said as she started moving forward, she stopped not knowing where they were headed, she turns back to her master who sighed "Where are we going to?" She asked.

"First, change from this," He said as he eyed the little girl from her head to her toe, she pouted and batted her lashes, trying to make him change his mind but his face remain resolute as a frown formed on it.

"But Master Gunner!" She exclaimed sadly, she turned her back to her master, closes her eyes, her lips muttering some words which could not be heard, she began dancing her fingers in front of her, soon a light shone from her body, and Gunner stepped backward.

The light slowly disappeared, her height drastically increased, she is almost taller than her averagely tall master, she turned, her rounded face is adorned with small lips which were painted thick black, her nose, small, her small eyes emitting vigor and determination which was hinted with playfulness, her face was glowing beautifully.

She flipped her chin-length hair which was dyed in both black and red, and the corner of her lips lopped a smile.

"Ready!" She said, her Master nodded.

They both snapped their fingers, two Witcher brooms stood in the air before them, soon they both climbed on it, each standing on it.

"Get ready to be beaten today Mas–" Before she completed her statement, her Master had zoomed off "Master!" She yelled as she raced behind him, she pouted hearing her Master's laughter which was mocking her.

"Talking too much isn't required, action is." Gunner's voice sounded as they both race, Rune scoffed as she tried to race past her Master but no matter how she tries she couldn't.

Gunner came down from the broom and it disappeared Rune stopped beside her Master, and she got down from the broom, and it disappeared, and immediately she frowned as she could perceive the strong scent of the inhabitants of the kingdom they were about to step into.

"Werewolves" She muttered, she pulled her hood on and both started towards the borders of the Glove Crescent Park.

Kaiden is seated on the throne, a big book in both hands, his eyes fixed on the book but his mind wasn't anyway close to what he was doing.

Pain... The thought barges into his head and immediately the strong urge to inflict injuries on himself came heavily upon him, he swallowed hard as he tries to keep his thoughts together but the harder he tries the more difficult it becomes.

He shifted with discomfort on his throne, he rubbed his forehead, his other hand on his chest, giving the chest a hard massage.

He tries to get up but then he looked at Chase who was seated on one of the seats which were just below his throne, Chase stared back at the Alpha.

As much as Kaiden tries to hide his discomfort and keep his thoughts together, Chase could see right through him.

Becoming unbearable for him, he stood up from the throne and climbed down, he moved towards the door, and Chase followed behind.

"Anything the problem?" Kaiden asked, his voice filled with the pain he felt, he looked suspiciously at his third commander.

Chase looked innocently at Kaiden "I feel so bored and I decided to stay with you, is that wrong?" He asked with the most innocent tone he could summon.

Kaiden closed his eyes briefly, he turned from going to the door, he knew Chase better, the younger man would follow him even into a fire if he wants to.

Taking a few strides towards the throne, he stopped and looked at Chase again "Aren't you supposed to be training the warriors?" He asked, hoping this parasite called Chase just leave so he could feel some pain that could help keep his thoughts together.

Chase was silent for a minute, and Kaiden stared intensively at him.

'Or did he know about me inflicting–'

"Garry is the one to train them today and yes before you ask we have men at the borders so I'm so free and I want to spend some time with my best friend who seems to be pushing me away," Chase said with a sad look, turning the conversation in his favor.

Kaiden sighed ... No one would understand.

"I'm sorry" Kaiden apologized, he turned and went to his throne, he sat on it, taking up the book he was reading, Chase also sat down.

The feeling became so overwhelming that he held the book so tight that it began to tear, his other hand gripped the arm of the throne, he gripped it so tightly that he began feeling pain and that brought some calm to his mind but not fully, he tightened his grip both on the arm of the throne and book.

Chase snapped his head to the sound of both cracking and tearing, he stood up, he widened his eyes, the book in Kaiden's hand was tearing while the arm of the throne was cracking, from where he was he could see the crack which was rapidly moving down to the foot of the throne.

"Oh, goddess! Kaiden!" He yelled in horror, he rushed to the Alpha whose eyes were already bulging, and his veins were almost popping out from his neck and forehead.

Just as he was about to hold Kaiden, the latter snapped his face up "Wizard?" Kaiden questioned as his look rested on the door.

Everything seems to have gone back to normal, Kaiden averted his graze to where Chase was seated but he wasn't there "Chase?" He called.

Chase who was standing beside the Alpha couldn't quite understand what just happened, one minute Kaiden was near death and the next he was fine... What is going on? ... Chase thought.

Perceiving his third in commander's scent beside him, he looked up at Chase who was still standing transfixed "Chase? What are you doing standing here?" He asked.

Chase tilted his head back as he stared at Kaiden who looked at him.

'He didn't just ask me that?' Chase thought with surprise 'He doesn't remember?'

"Just wanted to peer at what made you smile" Chase lied and went down to his seat wondering what had just happened.

Kaiden tried to remember what made him smile just as Chase as said but couldn't remember any, he stared down at the book in his hands, and he frowned, who tore it? ... He looked so confused, Chase sadly shook his head seeing the confused look of the Alpha.

Kaiden opened his mouth to talk but the door opened and the scent he perceived earlier became stronger.

The Wizard, Gunner, his apprentice, Rune, Garry, and Madam Dera stood before Kaiden.

"Greetings your majesty" Both Gunner and Rune greeted, bowing their heads low.

"Greetings" He answered, forcing himself to smile.

Rune was wowed by how beautiful the throne room was, her gaze went to the Alpha, he was a very good-looking man with his dreads, his ebony skin was exceptional, she slowly nodded her head in affirmation to all she had heard about him, but looking more at closely looks genuinely burdened. Her gaze roamed again and landed on the Beta who seems to be staring questionably at the other man who she perceived to be the third in commander.

She looked from one man to the other, her gaze fixed itself on the Beta, she struggled to her surprise to avert her gaze from him, and when she finally did avert her gaze she sighed a relief, not understanding herself at that moment.

Garry seeing the sad look on Chase's face wondered what was wrong, he fixed his gaze on Chase and soon Chase looked in his direction.

'What is it?' Garry's mind linked.

'Later' Chase answered and cut off the link.

"Why is the wizard here?" Kaiden asked, he knew Gunner.

The old wizard had been an acquittance to his parents.

Silence.

Kaiden's piercing gaze moved from Chase to Garry to Madam Dera but they avoided his gaze, suspicion grew in him.

"My lord, I was called here 'cause I was told about your burdens, what you are feeling, my lord" Gunner answered wittily, he had been earlier briefed by both the Beta and the Alpha's nanny.

Kaiden sighed.

"May I my lord?" Gunner asked, Kaiden nodded.

"Have your seats?" Kaiden said and they all sat down, Garry went up and sat on the seat some distance away from the throne but it was still on the elevated podium, he only sat down there during meetings and important events.

The Wizard pulled off his bag, he sat on the marble floor, he spread out his legs, lay wide white clothes and from his bag brought a blue cloth tied up, he loses it and laid it on the blue cloth.

Pebbles and small sea shells were on full display, he began his consultations.

A few minutes passed, and all waited patiently.

The Wizard raised his head from his consultations in surprise, his surprise look was met with the frown of the Beta.

"What is it?" Garry, the Beta who was seated on the right side of the Alpha, asked.

The Wizard's gaze fell on the Alpha's cool and collected face "My Lord, You are cursed, the feeling of misery, emptiness, and unhappiness is till death"

"What?!" Chase asked in surprise, all looked surprised, Rune nodded in understanding to what her Master had just said, she had followed in his consultation.

Gunner was surprised... Alpha Kaiden Darius Rucker was a man with the very rare qualities of a leader that parks envied him and most times wished he was their Alpha ... Now he is cursed? ... Gunner thought.

"Did you just say cursed?" Madam Dera asked, seems she just understood the meaning of the words spoken by the wizard "But how?" She asked.

Gunner returned his head to his consultation, he raised his head "This curse is so strong, the spells were sealed with a strong sacrifice and it is not penetrable, "this is..." He paused as he looked around "unto death"

Kaiden's eyes watered.

'What have I done wrong!' He lamented mentally, the news pierced his very soul.

"Isn't there a solution?" Madam Dera asked, tears were running down her face, the thoughts of terrible things happening to Kaiden greatly saddened her.

"Hmmm" Gunner hummed "I don't know of any but we must get a solution if not the Alpha would continue to inflict injuries on himself this time around worse injuries," Gunner said.

Kaiden swallowed hard as he bowed his head, he shamefully raised his face, he prepared himself to be met with disappointed looks but he met none.

"You all know?" He asked looking from his Beta to his third commander and finally, his eyes landed on the woman who looked at him with motherly care.

Chase nodded.

Tears formed in his eyes, he grind his teeth together and looked away, he tries to fight those tears back.

"There is a solution" Came Gunner's voice, Gunner looked at their wolfish eyes that immediately turned anxious "But.." he said as his eyes settled on the Alpha who was also looking back at him.

Gunner wondered if the Alpha would take the solution considering the type of male he was.
