Chapter 1 Prologue

"Mr. Fraser, to be straightforward, I am not interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with you or anyone else. Let's move on and not waste any more of our time on this topic." The words hung in the air as the young man sitting across from her shifted in his seat, clearly feeling awkward and embarrassed.

"Wow!" He exclaimed, still taken aback by her directness and her composed demeanor afterwards.

Within just a few minutes of meeting her blind date, Camilla swiftly and decisively turned him down without hesitation.

The 29-year-old fashion designer entrepreneur looked impeccable in a stunning emerald pantsuit,with matching heels that accentuated her legs. Her blonde hair was pulled back into a sleek ponytail, and a pair of diamond stud earrings added a touch of luxury to her look.

Despite the casual nature of the date, she seemed to be dressed for a business meeting rather than a romantic evening.

"Miss Kings," the young man sitting across from her began, making a deliberate effort to establish eye contact as he spoke.

He spoke with conviction, his dark brown eyes shining with determination." I understand that you may not be interested in dating right now, but I have to tell you, I've already fallen for you."

"I promise that if you give me a chance, I'll do everything in my power to make you happy." He waited patiently for her response.

"Thank you for your kind words, but I firmly believe that I don't need a romantic partner to experience happiness," she said, rising from her seat.

With a polite and cordial tone, she said, "It was nice meeting you, Mr. Fraser. I must take my leave now." She said, before turning and walking away, leaving the young man staring in shock after her receding figure.

As soon as she settled into the plush interior of her Bentley Mulliner Batur car, she released a deep sigh of relief. It wasn't long before her phone buzzed to life, and she winced as her mother's voice, practically shrieking, filled her ears as she answered the call.

"Camilla!.... John Fraser just called to tell me that you blew him off on your date." Her tone showed that she was very annoyed.

"For goodness sake Bambina (Baby) this is your thirty-seventh date already!" Her voice growing more agitated.

"Exactly Mama..." Camilla sighed in response to the incessant voice.

"Look I understand that you and Nonna want to see me in a relationship, but I have told you multiple times that I am not ready for one," Camilla said, sighing.

"Continuing to set me up on these dates is pointless and I wish you would stop." She stated firmly and paused before continuing, anticipating her mother's counterargument.

"I need to run and pick up some things from the office before heading home. Ti amor,(I love you)." Camilla said swiftly and disconnected the call, not wanting to engage in another conversation about settling down.

She started the engine, and drove out of the parking lot.
